    Hi ladies,
Hope everyone is well! I just got back from vacation and saw my RE for the last time on Mon. The baby looks more like a baby and not a little blob. lol My appt with my OB is this coming monday. Was also given the ok to stop Endometrin next week which Im pretty excited about.

    QOTW:
I actually havent told my family or work only a few friends that we went on vacation with since our activities had to be changed. I feel guilty for not telling my mom but I'm not sure she would be able to handle the news if something were to happen. My RE said the baby looks perfect and feels its safe to share the news but I will wait a few more weeks or until after I see my OB.

  • @flanners1 I am so, so sorry to hear about your loss. That is really hard to take. I also had a "vanishing twin." It is sad, no matter what people say to try to make you feel better about it. I'm sorry the doctor couldn't have been more sympathetic or supportive. Sometimes people don't realize all you want to hear is "I'm sorry, that sucks." I hope you can grieve and find peace in time.

AFM, I am 8 wks 5 days pregnant today. Hard to believe I've made it this far! I had scary bleeding over the weekend but u/s Monday confirmed everything looks okay. Just have to make it through a few more weeks to feel more confident in the second tri.

We have told almost nobody - just my husband's sister, who's a midwife, and one friend who also went through IF. Honestly, we are both experiencing a lot of uncertainty and anxiety and difficulty believing this will actually work. We plan to tell family at 12 weeks.

    @Steff_99 congrats on graduating!

@clt2pwm11 how exciting!! Sounds like you have a happy healthy baby growing in there :)

@AandDM2014 so happy your first MFM appt went well! 15 days will fly by!!

@LSatturo126 so exciting! I hope your appt goes well, can't wait to hear the updates!

AFM: I had my first OB appt yesterday. Got to see baby, who is measuring right at 9w with a healthy heartbeat. Because I have PCOS and will be 35 next month, they are considering me high risk. My OB is making me take a 24hr urine analyis (I pee in a jug for 24 hours and then they test it, it's awesome...) Anyone else heard of this? She also mentioned that I should anticipate the possibility of being induced at 38 weeks. Otherwise the info was all run of the mill.
I go back in 3 weeks (17th) for my 12 week appt. At that time I will be doing the MaterniT21 test and having my first abdominal ultrasound. It's weird thinking that in just over 3 weeks, I'll know the sex of baby and be almost out of 1st tri!  I'm actually looking forward to the small break in dr. appts :)

    Hi Everyone,

I have convinced myself that I am actually pregnant and can come over to this board.
I am coming over from the IVF/FET August/September board. I am 5 weeks 3 days today. We have our first ultrasound on 10/7.

The symptoms I have been having are tiredness, cramping, and nausea if I don't eat every 2-3 hours.

Is it normal to go through withdraws from seeing your doctor? The every other day checks while on stims for 3 weeks make me adapt to knowing that everything was going good. Now that we are pregnant its like "oh okay I will see you in a few weeks". It has been so hard for me to not go in and have an ultrasound or blood work to make sure that things are going good.

QOTW: Our immediate family already knows. They all knew about IVF. So when people started asking shortly after we decided to tell our parents, siblings and very close friends. We have a big Halloween party with our extended family, and I will be 8 weeks then, and know if there is a heart beat. I might announce it through a costume then,.

  • @flanners1 I am so sorry for your loss. And sorry to hear that your doctor wasn't more sensitive about delivering the news. I think it is perfectly normal and healthy to let yourself grieve - it doesn't make you any less grateful for your other babe. Let yourself feel what you need to right now, and take care of yourself! <3

AFM, I am 8w5d today and had my second u/s. Everything looked great! We got to hear the heartbeat, which was 187. And my little muffin was wiggling around and moving arms and legs! So exciting! I think DH almost cried. Since my RE is 5 hours away, we have done both u/s with my OB here in town, and they fax the results to my RE. So I'm still waiting to hear back from the RE about when to wean off of PIO, suppositories, and e-patches. FX that I can stop PIO SOOOON!

I go in for bloodwork with my OB on Friday, which is a genetic screening that includes determining the sex of the baby - who knew they could do that??? A lot has changed, even from my last pregnancy apparently. We will get results 2 wks after that. They also want me to have a 1st tri scan with a MFM between 11-13 wks, probably including NT scan, so that will be the next time we get a peek at the little muffin.

QOTW: Our immediate families know, and my boss knows just from all the appointments and traveling. Two of my close friends know, too, since I wasn't drinking around them. Other than that, we are keeping it to ourselves until 12-13 weeks. With my history of losses, it just makes me paranoid. We haven't planned a big public announcement but hope to have a gender reveal party for our families at some point.

  • @flanners1 I am so sorry for your loss and that the doctor didn't have the empathy to understand what it meant for you, thinking of you

@halips I am curious about the extra testing and possible early induction? I am going to be 39 at time of delivery and also have PCOS but am not considered high risk by my ob...maybe ask your ob a few more questions to find out what has prompted the testing (they may just have different cut offs for age etc, but every week the baby is in the womb is better for him/her so the early delivery would be my concern without a really good medical reason)

afm had our NT ultrasound today, due to my tilted uterus had to convert to vaginal ultrasound (thought I was past all those!!!) but all looked well and we got to see her on screen for a while stretching and could even make out fingers....my favorite part (if you can picture this) was with the vaginal probe in, the dr requested I lift my hips and I quote "shake my hips like I was on dancing with the stars" because baby girl was head down and they needed her to move...needless to say DH was dying laughing as I performed this super classy maneuver with a vaginal probe in my lady parts....yep it was awesome

Welcome @kelrauh! Do you have an EDD so I can update the post? Yes, I think that many of us probably go through appointment withdrawl, especially when we're worried if everything is okay or not. I'm now in my longest stretch between appointments since I started the FET process way back in July. Love the costume announcement idea!

@BlueEyedDreamer Yay for heartbeat and wiggles!! Hopefully you can soon wean off PIO. I know how much those hurt! I hope your MFM appointment goes well! Understandable with a history of loss ot not share quite yet. I too was a immediate sharer, but after having a MMC last time, I didn't share anything on social media until 10 weeks, which was after the MMC gestational age.

  • @halips and @2legbaby Inducing at 38-39 weeks is common for pregnancies with risk factors. It is somewhat of a myth that the baby should stay in as long as possible. For pregnancies with risk factors (such as IVF, AMA, etc.), many docs think it's better to induce slightly early b/c of higher risks of something going wrong at the very end. My OB told me that recent studies show the campaign to wait until at least 40 wks has actually led to higher rates of late losses. With DS, I was induced at 39 weeks for this reason, and everything went very smoothly. If you have any concerns about it, I would discuss with your doctor in more detail and come up with a plan that makes you both comfortable!

It's definitely nerve-wrecking, but try to be strong! If you remember, my start was very similar to yours and so far everything is moving along perfectly! You'll be in my t's&p's!

@2legbaby thanks for the feedback. My OB indicated that being IVF/PCOS and 35+  is all I needed to qualify as high risk. She did mentioned that high risk patients usually deliver early for the same reasons @BlueEyedDreamer mentioned. It's not guaranteed, but she mentioned it so I wasn't surprised should it happened. We (PCOS) are also higher risk for developing GD, high blood pressure during pregnancy, and having larger babies, so those may be additional reasons why she mentioned inducing early.

  • @LSatturo126 I'd bet most of us can relate to being worried about hearing a heartbeat. After everything we infertiles go though, it is nerve wracking! I still get nervous every time I go in for an ultrasound.

  • @LSatturo126  I second @AandDM2014 - I still get nervous every ultrasound, but am excited for you to hear that first heartbeat!

@halips and @BlueEyedDreamer thanks for the info on the high risk situation, I will have to ask my OB about this as she hasn't mentioned any changes in my protocol compared to their norm, it would good to know going into things, rather than it being a surprise come delivery time!

told my bosses at work today about being pregnant (news well accepted!), I know this is silly but I just feel like the more people I tell the more I may "jinx" us and I just wish I could relax and enjoy every moment with this little munchkin inside me...both DH and I feel with all the let downs with our fertility treatments in the past that we both can't let go that something might go wrong....I wonder do women who conceive naturally feel this anxiety?

  • @2legbaby I too would be interested in knowing if blissfully ignorant people also suffer with sometimes crippling fear about pregnancy. I know when we first started ttc I thought for sure we'd get pregnant right away. I mean, why wouldn't we?! And 2.5 years later, I'm still skeptical if my body will perform correctly.

  • I'd like to be added! I am due May 20th.

We had a crazy summer with a failed FET, BFP followed by a loss, and then this surprise BFP again. So far everything is looking great with this pregnancy.

QOTW: Some people (close friends and immediate family) know but we are planning a family photo shoot where on pictures will say tie breaker coming May 2017 since we have B/G twins from previous FET.

  • @LSatturo126 Im currently 9w4d and did not have a doubling beta but baby looks perfect now and Im hoping to HEAR the heartbeat on my next appt. At my 6wk u/s we were able to see the heartbeat. I wouldnt worry too much if you dont see it though because my RE said at 6wks plus is when you can see it. A few days makes a huge differnce.
  • @LSatturo126 - My first ultrasound is a week from today. And I will be 6 weeks 5 days. I am sooo nervous about seeing the heart beat. I hope that my anxiety will go down a bit after we see that. FX that baby is being cooperative today and you see the heartbeat.

I think that a lot of people who conceive right away do not have this anxiety. I think a lot of it is that we all have a lot of money, time and pain invested in having this work. If it doesn't work it isn't fun to have it happen again. Most people its fun and intimate thing. For us we are more intimate with our RE and nurses than we are with our DH during this process.

Next Friday will be 7wk US! Can't wait lol but hearing the heartbeat made me feel better but of course like @Knottie36622473 said, the worry doesn't go away. I'm thinking and praying that the Heartbeat will be there next week and stronger lol. Never ends!! It's like walking on egg shells.

  • @2legbaby I feel the same way! The more people we tell the more I may jinx us! We plan on telling everyone else in our families next week at my 14 week appt and I have all kinds of anxiety!
  • Hi Everyone,

I've been lurking and after some encouragement and a Xanax, I finally have worked up the courage to believe I am pregnant

My embryo transfer was on 9/6 and my EDD is 5/25/2017. I will have my first US to check for viability on Tuesday (10/4).

    QOTW:
2 of my closest friends know (told them on Beta day), my parents know & now you guys.
We don't plan on telling the in-laws until we have crossed 20 weeks and I probably will tell my huge family on the day I hold my baby in my arms because I am that insecure.

With regards to the anxiety, I have an anxiety disorder diagnosis with other fun stuff and my meds aren't really helping a whole lot with respect to the IF related anxiety per se. My RE knows about my severe anxiety issues and has ordered 4 Betas so far and one more on Sunday to get me through to the first ultrasound.

LSatturo126 's US really really made my day. Thank you so much for sharing! :)
Wishing you all a very H&H  pregnancy!

  • LSatturo126  - Congrats to you too :) Yes, I knew our transfers were the same day, been lurking on the IF Sep FET thread too but didn't want to jump in, because when I am anxious I have the "gift" for making every one else anxious. Best support I could give was not jump in   I got really upset for you when I saw your first beta# and was so so so thrilled that every thing was ok with your little one during the US :)

cmm012  - Thanks & Congrats to you :) I do have to see a psychiatrist (who specializes in pregnancy and IF) before every IF cycle generally. My previous FET, I literally was losing my mind because of the progesterone. So, this time we worked to ensure I had a good routine and had my dosage adjusted 3 months prior to the transfer & it has generally helped. As time passes, I can see the anxiety increasing as she said it would with pregnancy so, I will see her in a few weeks.

    Congratulations @wifeinraleigh28 !!!
