I'm 6 weeks today and for at least the last week, I have been waking up EVERY night in the middle of the night. I usually get up to pee but I don't think that's the reason I'm waking up. I just get up and go since I'm already up. I usually get a snack too. It's very frustrating, especially during the week when I have to get up and go to work and when it takes me at least a good 45 minutes to fall back asleep! grrrrr
Re: Can't sleep through the night!!!
Married May 2012
TTC#1 July 2013 - July 2015 (no success)
Again TTC#1: Dec 2015
First RE visit: Feb 2016
BFP: 9/16/16 EDD:5/26/17
Eta: the exact same thing happened with our DD#1 and DD#2 (I found out about DD#2 when DD#1 was 6-7 months old) so I don't think I've had decent sleep in almost 3 years.
I'm having a hard time staying awake normal hours. I want to nap in the afternoon (when I'm at work) and after I get home from work until SO comes home.
Our normal routine was bed at 12 and awake at 7:30ish, but now I notice I am tossing and turning a lot and I have recollections of it in the morning -.-
I feel so exhausted all the time, when will it end! *dramatic cry*
I've basically accepted that I will never have a decent night of sleep again. Once your pregnant you cant sleep and then when baby comes you definitely wont sleep. MY DS didn't sleep through the night until 6 months old.. then he was awake for the day at 5am. Now has 14 months and sleeps until 7am but I wake up several times during the night wondering if he's ok..... mom life....
I had the same problem with my last pregnancy in the first trimester. I didn't really have it with my first, though retrospectively I did get up every night to pee in the first trimester. But the difference was I always went back to sleep right away. NOT the case this time or last pregnancy.
In my experience, it went away / got better for a while. With DS it did seem to be pee-related, because as soon as the uterus lifted away from behind the pubic bone and was no longer pushing on the bladder, I slept fine. I don't remember the details with DD but I thought it got better.
All of that said, 3rd trimester was way worse than 1st in this regard. I can deal with insomnia to some degree, but insomnia due to massive discomfort/pain is something else. Not looking forward to the final months of pregnancy!
