I spent two weeks getting only 3-4 hours of sleep a night. But I slept 8 hours the last two nights!

Question of the week: Have you taken or considered taking a newborn
care class, or any other classes to prepare for the babies?
Well I signed us up for childbirth classes. We went to the first one, then DH threw a fit and we skipped the second one. Third one is tonight, and the breastfeeding class is tomorrow...he's PROMISED me we will be going to both no matter what.
2. Next milestone you're looking forward to? Birth
3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Baby A has been freaking me out until this morning I think I figured out that he is turned towards my spine now. I wasn't feeling his movement in the same place and told H if I wasn't feeling good about it I would go to the doc today. I'm feeling little kicks towards my back now, which I'm sure is him. Baby B is just having his usual wrestle mania towards the top of my abdomen (they're laying transverse on top of each other as of last week - think of this visual = )
4. Question of the week: Have you taken or considered taking a newborn care class, or any other classes to prepare for the babies? I'm a STM so I know the basiscs of newborn care. I was going to do breastfeeding (I EP'd with DS) - but I've heard that tandem nursing is so different and that it might be a waste of time.
Sooooo... one of my close friends had her Di-Di twins at 34 weeks. A mom here that I'm in a private group with just delivered at 33. It's coming quickly ladies. Not to be an alarmist but - get ready!!
1. How far along are you? 26w3d b/g twins (who are *almost* named!!!)
2. Next milestone you're looking forward to?
32 weeks. Doc said after that point you are more likely to avoid the most lethal/serious birth defects (blindness, etc). Also looking forward to my growth ultrasound next week. I can never remember the "schedule" for twins either, so hopefully get that clarified once again (and write it down!)
3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I want these babies to cook as long as possible!! But... I also SUPER enjoy shaving 2 weeks off the "weeks to go" count on the bump app....... Kind of bumming on how much the next 2+ months could (will) royally blow.......but also taking what @DiFazette said to heart and desperately not wanting them to come early. I just need to figure out how to mentally get through this without wishing it to end early!!!
worried about the GTT next week.......

Question of the week: Have you taken or considered taking a newborn
care class, or any other classes to prepare for the babies? STM here. I thought about doing a multiples class ... but still not sure? I think I definitely would if I was a FTM. I'll have my doula to help with nursing (she has lots of experience with twins- does 2 post birth visits).
@brittnic86 - 8 hours sounds AMAZING!!!!!!!!! I'm in the little-to no sleep camp with you
1. How far along are you? 26w2d. I am actually a little sad that it is almost going to be over. DH is convinced that these are our only babies, but I am not. So I am going to have him wait on getting "fixed" for at elast a year while I think about it more. Right now I just can't imagine this being my only pregnancy, but I am also 33 already, so I understand i need to make that decision sooner than later.
2. Next milestone you're looking foward to? I am hoping to pass my glucose screening in a couple weeks. Other than that just trying to stay stress free and calm so the babies stay in there. I have had my cervix measured every two weeks and it is nice and long still, so hoping it stays that way! I have another growth US in a couple weeks and nervous about it. I know I shouldn't be, and I'm sure they're doing fine, but I just want them to grow as big as they can and be healthy.
3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: My only rant is that I can't do as much physically right now and it is driving me crazy. It is making me rely more on DH to do stuff around the house, and I'm pretty sure he is getting tired of helping me get my to-do list done instead of his. My positive rant/vibe for the week is that I can't stop thinking about how special it is that we are all having twins! I really feel so blessed to be getting two instead of one. I know it will challenge me and DH in ways we never expected, but am so excited for these two baby boys!
4. Question of the week: Have you taken or considered taking a newborn care class, or any other classes to prepare for the babies? We are taking a newborn care class in a couple weeks, and then an infant CPR class after that. I'm not sure if I am frozen in fear or just in denial, but I have been finding it hard to focus on learning what to do for the babes. I see the days go by on the calendar and I know it is coming, but I'm pretty sure it hasn't really hit me yet, because I am pretty calm and relaxed right now.
@Amecsey if it makes you feel better - there is no amount of prep (beyond CPR, infant basiscs like swaddling, diaper changing etc) that will prepare you. Your children will be unique - what works for one will not for the other - it's a pretty intense learning curve in the beginning. You will figure out YOUR children very quickly. There's not much (in my opinion) that doesn't come from trial and error once they're actually here.
2. Next milestone you're looking forward to? 30 weeks. For me that's my magic number. My doc has always stressed getting to 30 weeks and less of complications I could have if the twins came early. Once I get there I feel like I will relax about preterm labor little bit
3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I am really ready for the SPD pain to go away once these little monkeys get here
4. Question of the week: Have you taken or considered taking a newborn care class, or any other classes to prepare for the babies? Not newborn class per se but i am going to contact my local firehouse about going over baby cpr with myself husband and 8 year old.
Hi ladies, so I had an ultrasound two days ago, and they noticed that baby A is WAY bigger than baby B, and by WAY I mean like 6 ounces. But apparently that is a lot to them, and coupled with the fact that baby A has been moving around a little less lately, my doctor sent me to the hospital to get nst testing done, and now wants me to go twice a week for that. I really want these babies to stay in as long as possible, but I am going crazy with all of these tests, and she now has told me no lifting/pushing/pulling so DH is going to be busy getting my to-do list done
@Amecsey sorry for the extra anxiety!! Were they different sizes before? Try not to worry too much yet- ultrasounds can be VERY VERY off. Baby B did that to me last week- he was crazy but then very quiet for a few days.... it sucks how much less movement you can feel with only 2 "sides" of them versus 3 for a singleton! Hopefully the NSTs will confirm everything is okay- though it sucks to have to go in so often- it will be worth it for the peace of mind. Do you have another growth ultrasound scheduled?
My twins aren't the same size at all and never have been. Girl is 2.9 and boy is 3.1 and my doc isn't worried about it. I don't know what type of twins your having but hopefully the test will clam the doc down. It could be because mine don't share a sac or placenta which is why he isn't worried. Also my boy placenta has always been behind him and girl in front. I noticed a few weeks ago i was feeling her a bunch more but my boy less and he was way softer. Come to find out that my boy now has his in front of him which is why he is so soft and my girl is now in front of hers.
Yes, twins are di-di, which is why i would think the size difference would be okay. And i get another growth US in two weeks, so will know more about their size then. I'm glad they just want to be cautious, it's just hard to keep this all from affecting work with all of these appointments, and my boss is being super flexible, but I don't want to take advantage of it too much.
Both are good right now, so I'm just trying to stay calm and stress free.
just had a total momma softie moment and bought matching newborn "name" hats for the twins..... gah! I have a vision of them wearing them in the hospital....and looking sweet and perfect in them... (here's to hoping, right!?)
H is totally against dressing them the same. I wasn't really for it until he strongly opposed it, now in a weird "I'm the boss" way I am so compelled to get a few matching things.
omg Etsy is so dangerous, I found personalized outfits with LEG WARMERS!!! I'm sitting at work randomly saying OMG!!! And taking pictures of the computer screen to send to DH hahaha.
Etsy is the devils playground. I wasn't going to dress mine the same or coordinating outfits but I joined a boy girl twin resale group on Facebook and it's gone down hill from there.
Its getting there! Rug will be here Tuesday, then I can get curtains to match. Need to put the wall decal up. Need crib mattresses and bedding. But it's looking like a nursery! ❤️
