Any new symptoms or changes? I feel really great right now pregnancy wise!
Rants/Raves/Questions? I have a cold which really blows. right when I start to feel fantastic in the pregnancy I feel like a truck hit me sinus wise. bleh!
GTKY: What are you most proud of? I am most proud of how I have been able to source out great deals and free things for the babies by talking to family and friends and asking for help. the first time around I was determined to do it all myself and not only was it hard, but unnecessary! happy for the help this round.
Upcoming appointments this week? I have a boutique ultrasound appt this Friday! 30-45 mins of baby watching
Any new symptoms or changes? Increased cravings for sweets, but that's about it.
Rants/Raves/Questions? RAVE: Oklahoma is finally starting to feel more Fall-like! Highs are still in the 80's but it's so much better than the 100*+ heat indexes that we were having a few days ago.
GTKY: What are you most proud of? I think I am most proud of my family/husband. My husband never hesitated when I asked him about taking my niece in as our own (she would have gone to foster care). He actually does much better with parenting her than I do. We are currently in communication with our lawyer about proceeding with adoption as opposed to the guardianship that we have now. He has been my strength throughout this entire (very frustrating) process.
ETA: I can't words today.
Me: 24 DH: 27 High School Sweethearts: 10/13/06 Married: 10/13/13 Baby #1 EDD: 3/20/17
Any new symptoms or changes? morning sickness has quieted down (still there a bit but much better) but the fatigue is still ridiculous. It cannot be normal to want to take a nap 1 hour after I wake up in the morning.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I am so happy that the fall temps are finally here. I am so over summer. Now if we could just get the temps to fall low enough to kill all the bugs...
GTKY: What are you most proud of? Honestly, this question is hard for me right now. Things are really hard and turbulent at the moment and it is hard to think of something I am most proud of. Maybe the fact I completed my MBA in 10 months? Gah! So hard to think of something positive when it seems like life is so negative, you know? Just call me Debbie Downer.
Sorry I was MIA last week! Work is kicking my butt!
How far along are you? 14w
How big is baby? An 8oz filet, peach
Upcoming appointments this week? None this week. My next OB visit is next Thursday the 6th.
Any new symptoms or changes? TMI - vaginally discharge just continues to increase. I keep forgetting to put on a liner in the morning & then remember the error of my ways by about 10am. Other than that feeling pretty good. Wish I could poop on a regular schedule.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Nothing right now. It just feels surreal at this point. I was so used the weekly visits through Wk12. I can't believe it's been almost 2 weeks since my last US. Trying to not let PGAL brain get me down. Nothing to indicate that baby girl isn't doing just fine in there, but it's hard. I don't really even feel pregnant except for bloat and bigger boobs.
GTKY: What are you most proud of? This is really hard. I'm proud of the person I have become I guess. I have a great job, wonderful husband, family & friends. I have worked hard for the things I have & have learned a lot of great life lessons along the way.
How big is baby? avocado/can of soda/can of spam LOL
Upcoming appointments this week? ob appt today, hoping for a scan to get another look at baby b, but we'll see, next mfm is 10/17
Any new symptoms or changes? more in control of morning sickness with the new meds they put me on, much stronger than the diclegis, working well so far, also really popped up higher now, starting to really look pregnant!
Rants/Raves/Questions? nothing notable this week
GTKY: What are you most proud of? My DH, he's such a hard working man, he's got an amazing work ethic, the exact opposite of lazy, he's fantastic, and we're currently in the process of reviewing our finances, i documented all my bills/expenses, and he's going to see if he can handle everything, because my dream is to be a sahm with the twins & dd, so praying!

@octoberlove13 I love your “proud of” situation. While I can’t imagine what you guys or your
niece must have went through to put her in that situation … I admire both you
and your DH for stepping up and taking her in with open arms.
@thisisallyson an MBA is DEFINITELY something to be proud
of!
@mrsbinPA Hang in there, mama. Any chance you have an at-home Doppler?
@mrsnap_515 My fingers are crossed for you that you’ll be
able to SAHM!
How far along are you? 18 weeks – whoa!
How big is baby? An asparagus (TB)/Slingshot (Ovia)
Upcoming appointments this week? Nothing until my
anatomy scan in two weeks
Any new symptoms or changes? Nothing new. Pulled up at work this morning, stepped out
of my car and threw up all over in front of my office. My firm is on Michigan Avenue in Chicago so
of course there were plenty of witnesses.
Hi there tourists, Welcome to Chicago.
Rants/Raves/Questions? My cousin is expecting her first baby
next month. We are very different people
and don’t keep in touch that much, but I know that her and her boyfriend
struggle financially and I would like to send her something. Ideally I’d like to send something that she “needs”
for baby, and something that she can enjoy for herself. Suggestions?
GTKY: What are you most proud of? When we got pregnant
with DD, we were fairly young, didn’t have the most financially lucrative jobs
and weren’t married just yet. We were on
the edge of finding our footing in life but weren’t quite there yet– real “careers”,
having a place of our own, ect. I “knew”
we would be okay … but I worried that we wouldn’t be able to give my daughter
the life that I wanted her to have. Fast
forward a few years and our lives have changed by leaps and bounds. Whenever someone tells me how “loved” they
can tell my DD is, my heart explodes and I wish I could go back and reassure a
slightly younger version of myself that everything would be ok. I guess I’m most proud that we’ve worked so
hard together to get our life to the place where we dreamed it would be,
despite the obstacles, less traveled road and additional steps.
Any new symptoms or changes? I finally feel like i'm actually starting to show, not just bloat!
Rants/Raves/Questions? I am so incredibly happy that we have made it this far into the pregnancy! It's so exciting and scary at the same time! Now that we know the gender it has made this pregnancy feel so real, we are actually going to be parents to the little boy growing inside of me. Crazy. We have been rethinking our name ideas and it feels so strange to try out the names when I talk to him. I'm also getting really excited about getting the spare room ready for a baby!
GTKY: What are you most proud of? I'm most proud of my husband. He works so hard to make sure I am happy and the baby is okay. And he still makes time to try to be a good son to his family and mine. But I do think we are getting a little worn out trying to be everything to everyone though (especially with a family as large as his), so I think it's time for us to take some time to focus on our growing family.
Upcoming appointments this week? No appointments until the next two weeks
Any new symptoms or changes? More RLP I am feeling more pulling/soreness in my groin area and sides as well as my back hurts. I'm on vacation and 8 1/2 car ride probably didn't help me yesterday. Boobs hurt and I'm feeling huge. Peeing ALL THE TIME.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Nothing really just looking forward to my anatomy scan soon! They said it's 1 hour 15 min long so that's so much time to look at our baby girl ❤
GTKY: What are you most proud of? I've dealt with a disappointment and difficult times in my life and I'm proud of how I was able to overcome and move forward. I realized I'm stronger than I thought!
Any new symptoms or changes? she's kicking a lot more than she had been!
Rants/Raves/Questions? People I work with are jerks and people who no-showed my wedding ended costing me $1,000.
GTKY: What are you most proud of? I work full-time, have an infant, bought a house on my own last year, and I have 8 days left before I graduate with my BS in Accounting!
@Liss_37 That's awesome! It can be really hard to ask for help, but I know I'm always happy to help people when they need it, so good for you for reaching out!
@OctoberLove13 Wow, I can't imagine how hard that situation is for you! That's great that your husband has really stepped up for your niece and you too!!
@thisisallyson Ummm no need for a question mark at the end of that sentence about completing your MBA! That is no joke!! That's amazing I hope you get to feeling better soon!
@MrsBinPA PGAL is such a B. But I'm so so happy that you and your LO are doing so well that you don't need those weekly ultrasounds any more, that rocks!
@MrsNap_515 ahhh I so hope that works out for you!! I think a lot more people could make it work than what they think! I will be staying home for at least the first year with this LO, that's something I've always wanted, and H is on board with that. Let us know how the budget review goes!
@hippiemama How is it possible that you are 18 weeks?! That blows my mind lol. Also I love that you guys have come so far in just a couple of years! I'm really happy with where H and I are now but I also have those same worries about bringing a child into the world, and will they feel like we have enough, etc etc. Gives me hope to hear that with hard work, it works out!
@GoldenTMama I am feeling the same way! I feel like when I find out the sex of the baby I will be able to call it by name and start to feel more connected. That's great that you've started feeling that way!
@Spartanrd4 Ahh I'm so looking forward to an anatomy scan! A whole hour and 15 minutes sounds amazing! Hope everything goes perfectly!
Upcoming appointments this week? Friday afternoon! We are going to find out the sex I cannooooot wait! H is making me feel like a crazy person for how much I've been dying to know, which is absurd because he was the one who so badly did not want to be team green because HE wanted to know. Lord, I can't win lol.
Any new symptoms or changes? Ummm yes. I feel like everything I didn't get in first tri is bombarding me now lol. The past few days I feel great when I wake up and then half way through my breakfast I feel like puking and have to take a step back, so that's fun. Also crazy headaches every day. And what shows up in my inbox the next day after those starting? A random article about a woman who was getting headaches while pregnant and ended up having a brain tumor! Sheesh, thanks a lot for that email.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Not too much. Just truckin along Enjoying a small bump I have goin on! One of my co-workers noticed it today and she was so excited for me haha, she's the best. I still don't feel comfortable enough in that people probably just think I've gained some weight, but that's alright, it will be large enough one day!
GTKY: What are you most proud of? Hmmmm... it probably sounds like a weird thing to be proud of but I'm really proud of H and I's relationship. It doesn't seem like it's something appropriate to boast about, as it comes off wrong, but I'm just really proud of the way we respect each other, and communicate, and love each other. I have a lot of friends who have relationship troubles, one that just ended in divorce in only 2 1/2 years and I feel like the main thing I see is people just not respecting one another. I hope that H and I will be able to continue the way we have been, even when times get tough. I really don't know what I would do without that man in my life, he's the bomb!
Any new symptoms or changes? More headaches (thankfully they don't last very long) & getting random pains occasionally in my back & sides... I guess they're growing pains as my body tries to make room for my growing boy. And my energy level feels back to normal, yayy!!
Rants/Raves/Questions? I held a 1 month old today & ahh!! I'm still so nervous around teeny tiny fragile babies (this one was only 6.5 lb) and hoping our LO might be like 9+lb the day he arrives so I won't feel like I'm gonna break him. GTKY: What are you most proud of? I'm most proud of my recovery. I struggled for a decade with both alcoholism & bulimia and they nearly destroyed my life. I am SO blessed to be in long term recovery after working a solid program & continue to maintain it one day at a time by the grace of God. I'm grateful to have restored all the relationships with people close to me & grateful to be there now for others who've lived with addiction/eating disorders... I feel like I owe everything I have in my life - and my life itself - to my recovery.
Sorry I'm late to this! Work has been busy, and by nighttime, I'm pretty much just dozing off in front of Netflix and a pile of snacks.
How far along are you? 16 (+3)
How big is baby? the size of an avocado or a can of Spam
Upcoming appointments this week? Friday is Doppler & blood draw for final set of the sequential screening test
Any new symptoms or changes? You know you're used to hemorrhoids when the sight of blood on the the TP doesn't even alarm your PgAL brain. I've also begun regularly carrying around Tums with me. It's not so much heartburn that's an issue as the gas build-up, which leads to my stomach hurting. These days, I feel like I'm being propelled by farts.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I'm starting to struggle getting up from a reclining position! I had to ask DH to help me off the couch last night, because it didn't feel right attempting to sit up on my own. I also had to get up in the middle of the night to pee for the first time in a long while. And I had to pee a lot. I didn't even drink much a few hours prior to bedtime. Where was it all hiding? (I just realized my rants/raves are a continuation of symptoms. But pregnancy symptoms are basically my life right now. )
GTKY: What are you most proud of? I'm proud of having a masters degree at a top private university and working in a teaching field that many say is tough. I struggled in high school and thought I'd never get my sh*t together. I also worried I wouldn't find a life partner who loved me unconditionally and was someone I could wholly trust. 12 years after high school graduation, I'm married to my best friend (from high school!) and we're expecting our first healthy child in the spring. I know it doesn't seem like much to complete school, get married, and start a family, but I'm proud that I did it the way I wanted to, at the times that I felt were right.
I'm a day late! I totally forgot all about this yesterday. Sorry!
How far along are you? 16 weeks
How big is baby? An avocado
Upcoming appointments this week? I had one on Monday. Got to hear the heartbeat again and my daughter got to hear it this time. Her eyes got really big. She loved it. I also had to do an early one hour glucose and I failed. I go back on Tuesday for the three hour.
Any new symptoms or changes? Nothing new.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Should my boobs still hurt? I will just randomly get pains through them or if my daughter is laying on me, I can't stand the pain.
GTKY: What are you most proud of? My daughter. She is everything to me. She's my best friend. I am so proud of the person she is. She is only three, but she totally amazes me!
@hippiemama so far i have been able to get over 100 free huggies newborn diapers and size 1 diapers as well. i found out about these local give and recieve for free groups on facebook. you can give things away and also request items that you need. no money is ever exchanged you just have to pick up any items you want. my sisters have joined the groups as well as myself and have been keeping their eyes out for any baby items to help me out. also great because we've been able to give stuff away to people who need it so it's a win win! i also have had some friends find me great deals at local mom to mom sales like my most recent scores which were 30 pairs of 0-12 month baby socks in brand new condition for $3 and a bunch of brand new receiving blankets for 25 cents each. helping me save a ton of money!!
@hippiemama I didn't cave to buying a home doppler because I was more worried that not being able to find the HB would freak me out more than not knowing!
I have an appointment next Thursday. If I can get through that I may just try to plug along without one. I am so torn. For those that have one, at this point 14+wks is it fairly easy to find such that you aren't freaked and having to call the doctor and admit you have one & maybe aren't good at using it!
@MrsBinPA I'm not great at finding the heartbeat with the home doppler but my husband is a pro at it! He's been able to find it since around 11 weeks. It has gotten louder and closer to the surface since then so at 14 weeks it should be easier to find. There are several tutorials on YouTube that might help, if you decide to purchase one!
