Feeling a little more nauseous every day and I've been thirsty more too

I contacted a doula yesterday and I'm looking forward to meeting with her. There aren't many choices for doulas in my area so I hope our meeting goes well. Anyone else have a doula for their previous birth(s)?

GTKY: what was a favorite toy you played with as a child?
I liked playing with toys I could build with like Lincoln logs, legos, and k'nex.

Super thirsty & food is my favorite- DH did scold me this morning for only eating toast for breakfast. I am not a big eater typically and never eat breakfast so this real progress!

My baby sister is getting married this weekend. I am the MOH with my other sister. The wedding itinerary is OUT OF CONTROL with many social events (four events outside of the wedding itself) that I have to attend. MY family are big drinkers and we haven't told anyone so it is going to be very difficult to fake drink all weekend long and mask my major fatigue!

I did make my first appointment. It's for next Wednesday, just before I hit 9 weeks.

Any new symptoms or changes?

No new symptoms, but they are coming on STRONG now (nausea, mainly). I know 8 weeks is kind of the worst, along with 9. So I figure 2ish more weeks of hell and then things will start to improve. I can't wait. Also looking forward to the appointment and I'm optimistic they'll be able to hear the heartbeat (though probably unrealistic.)

Oh, I suppose a "new symptom" could be that I am eating a LOT now. In the first month of pregnancy I ate less and it was health food and I lost weight (probably from not drinking). Now that I'm so nauseated I'm finding the only way to stave it off is to eat like 10 meals a day. So far I have had 3 rice cakes, an apple, and a yogurt. I *think* I'll be able to make it through my class, but I'm not sure. I still have hunger/nausea and class won't be over for 2 hours (starts in a little bit.) Yesterday I had: an apple, a panera sandwich, a panera souffle, a panera piece of bread, a panera cookie, a large helping of pasta, a medium serving of watermelon, an ice cream sandwich, and a brownie. I'm probably forgetting some stuff. And I guess I'm craving carbs?

My wallet was stolen this week, from out of my cart at the grocery store. It was not that bad to deal with, though. Typically I spent 3 hours at DMV when I've been in the past (e.g. to move, etc), but it took me 15 minutes this time. I was amazed.

Upcoming appointments this week or appointments made? No appointments for me until next month. I did schedule my anatomy scan for Dec 13

Any new symptoms or changes? Only change really is the increase in fatigue. I never knew I could feel so tired after not doing much all day long.

Rants/Raves/Questions? Last week, my mom was pretty shocked with the news and didn't seem to handle it too well. Now this week has been completely different, she is back to her normal very supportive self. I am so thankful for all the support my family is providing.

My favorite toy as a child was definitely my cabbage patch doll.

I have a lot of experience with "faking it." There are a few options, some of which you can combine:
1) Say that you are sick (like with a cold), which is why you are tired and also why you don't want to drink. Honestly it's not so far from the truth!
2) Say that you are tired because of staying up late to get work done, insomnia, travel, or whatever.
3) Drink the same thing as your husband. Periodically switch drinks without people noticing. So yours is full and his is half full. Then you switch. Then he drinks, and his is nearly empty and your is still half. Switch again. etc.
4) If there is a signature drink, get a virgin version of it from the bartender and then keep drinking that all night.
5) Take your drink with you to the bathroom and pour some out every once in a while.

I've found that in situations like this, my body just up and rallies as far as fatigue or even nausea are concerned. So you'll probably be fine.

@kat81 I'm not a Thursday girl, but can I just say I love your faking ideas! The switching one is genius, not sure why I never thought of that one. I will definitely be using the cold one tomorrow. Plus I actually do have a cold...not that that would have stopped me pre-pregnancy, but alas. Anywhoo, carry on!!

Upcoming appointments this week or appointments made? Nothing scheduled this week, but I do have one in a couple of weeks for NIPT screening and another ultrasound. I'm pretty excited to see the little bean!

Any new symptoms or changes? My raging hunger seems to have subsided a bit, thank goodness. I've got more of a pooch now than I did at 16 weeks with my first! LOL

Rants/Raves/Questions? I was in a meeting with our CFO yesterday, when my boss got up to throw something away. The trashcan is right by the door, and our CFO got this terrified look on his face and says "Oh! I thought you were about to close the door. I was expecting bad news - like Christina is pregnant again!". First of all, you have 4 kids, sir. Someone had to carry them and we can't all be SAHM. I'm glad it was for your wife, but I need to work. Secondly, during my last maternity leave, I had my cell phone and laptop at home and was accessible for any questions or problems that came up. Not to mention the days that I came into the office with my newborn to keep things from getting too disorganized. Thank you for making me feel guilty about something that I am actually really happy about.

GTKY: what was a favorite toy you played with as a child? I was a book girl. I loved being around them. It's been kind of cool to watch my son grow, and right now he is in a phase where he can sit quietly with a book and just flip through the pages. I hope it sticks!!

The weekend is going to be fantastic and I'm so excited for my sister and her new groom- I just may need a vacation after this!

How big is baby? I can't see my ticket because I'm mobile, but Baby Center emailed me and said this week is kidney bean. Ha.

Upcoming appointments this week or appointments made? Tomorrow morning! I'm seeing the RE for my second ultrasound.

Any new symptoms or changes? No, still having all day nausea since about 5 and a half weeks.

GTKY: what was a favorite toy you played with as a child? I don't remember any specific toy, but I did love to tinker on a keyboard often that I was given.

@luckywife10, no experience the fist time with a doula, but I am strongly considering hiring one for this time around! DH was supportive during labor, but I think I could have used even more support and encouragement from someone with personal experience!

Any new symptoms or changes? I have been more tired than usual, feel bloated, and have to pee all the time but don't have many other symptoms.

Rants/Raves/Questions? I was felt like I had to tell a coworker today that kept pushing to know if I was pregnant and telling many other coworkers that she "knew" that I was...luckily she is about 15 weeks pregnant herself so when I asked her to keep it to herself she understood. But didn't stop gloating about how she was right

When did you ladies start having nausea? Not that I am hoping for it but I feel like my lack of symptoms is making me worry

GTKY: what was a favorite toy you played with as a child? Like @MamaMiller I loved Barbies. I also really loved playing with baby dolls and playing school or house.

Upcoming appointments this week or appointments made? I have an appointment with my gyno (not OB) in a week. Just to confirm the pregnancy/ease my nerves till the OB appointment at 9 weeks lol.

Any new symptoms or changes? A bit more fatigue, breasts are more sore. Not much other than that

Rants/Raves/Questions? Like @Nursek2016, I'm worried that I haven't gotten morning sickness yet. I've been googling a lot :X and read that a quarter of women don't get morning sickness at all and that some start later around 7-9 weeks. It's weird but I almost wish I had morning sickness already! Maybe we will be eating our words in a few days/weeks...!

@blueskies17 @NurseK2016 if it helps ease any concerns, when I was pregnant with my son I never had any morning sickness nausea. During my second trimester I had some food aversions that made my stomach flip, but that's it.

@blueskies17 @NurseK2016 - this is my third pregnancy and first without morning
sickness! Such a HUGE blessing. The most frustrating thing with morning sickness was its mental toll....feeling sick for weeks upon weeks is exhausting... The golden period where life is great (16-32 weeks) will be here before you know it

Ugh, that is beyond frustrating about your CFO. He probably meant it as a compliment, as you are so valuable, but he really should have thought about the obvious possibility that you are TTC or pregnant. In fact, he probably was kind of realizing it, which is why he was scared in the first place -- he probably thought it was "time" to have another by now. But clearly he did not think of what his words could mean to you as an actual pregnant person. As you said, it also really downgrades the measures you took while on leave and preparing for leave with #1. What a moron.
