Mamaroo?

So, we got a snuggapuppy swing from a consignment store popup and its ridiculously fast, even on the lowest speed. Thinking of getting rid of it. It seems like everyone is talking about the mamaroo, but they're so expensive! Have any of you used one and is it worth it? I'm seeing a lot of them being sold on offer up and the sellers say "barely used" so I'm not sure what to think and whether it'll be a good buy.

The swing we were gifted seems really fast too, but then my father in law and I were talking about it and realized it will likely change speed once there's actual weight in there. Just a thought!

Our DD really liked the fast motion of the swing we got. It was much better at soothing her. The slower motion didn't do much in the soothing department. I've seen a Mamaroo in action and it seems very slow in comparison.

@desoky01 is completely correct it seems fast but once there is weight i.e. Baby it will not swing as fast. As for the mamaroo I know 2 people that have had them and both told me not to waste my money on one that yes they look nice but the baby grows out of them very fast within 2/3months if lucky and in order to use all the sound options you have to connect to your phone. I would stick with the swing you have!

I hadn't a mamaroo last time and it was just too slow, so we got a Snug-a-Bunny and it was glorious! DD loved the speed (it's not as fast with baby in it). That being said, they revamped the mamaroo in the pst few years and it's supposed to be better. My friend and I actually co-bought one from another friend for cheap and I'm gonna try that first before dragging the big one down from the attic simply because the mamaroo is so much smaller!

My friend just had a baby last month and she hates the mamaroo.

I wish there was a place you could try out a bunch of different swings with babe to find a good one. Bonus points if this imaginary company brought them to your house to test from the comfort of your living room.

My oldest son HATED the mamaroo. He loved the baby bjorn baby sitter.

Thank you all so much! This definitely helps! We did actually try to put an 8lb kettlebell in the snugapuppy and it was still fast, at least for me, but did slow down some when we turned it sideways. We may just keep it and then figure something out after baby is born if he hates it/throws up from too much movement. I swear it made me dizzy just looking!

DD1 didn't really care for the Mamaroo. She used it maybe for the first 3 weeks or so, I may borrow someone's traditional swing if this baby doesn't take to the MR either.

You see a lot of them for sale because they're only good for about 6 months or 25lbs.

I got a Nuna leaf because it can be used until over 100 pounds. Seemed like a better investment

We were gifted a Mamaroo with the first and she hated it. Naturally, we'll give it ago again, but it can be risky to make those expensive purchases when it might not be the baby's thing... good luck!

@justpeachier13 this made me chuckle because my almost 3 year old is only 25 lbs

but admittedly she has always been on the small side. Either way we stopped using a swing when she got mobile enough to squirm out of it which was before she even hit 6 months if I recall. I don't think swings are intended for long term use in general.

Same! My daughter will be 4 in December and is a whopping 27 lbs

DD didn't like the mamaroo but she's not into motion at all so we still have it and will try it with baby boy due next month but if he isn't into it either then I might try a swing instead it seems like that's the way to go. She ended up sleeping in it though without it turned on bc it was the right size and kept her head slightly elevated.
