    3. How are you doing? What is the next milestone you're looking forward to? I'm doing ok right now! My HCG went up to 2000 so that's awesome! Waiting for a call from MFM to book my first appt, got my anatomy scan booked for December 27

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I'm not thrilled about my anatomy scan date but I'll make do. I'm assuming the results will take longer because of the holidays and I'm always anxious after my son having special needs.

    5. GTKY: If you could travel back in time, what time frame would you visit and why?  Tough one, I dunno. Anywhere from the 30s to the 70s I think would be fascinating! Anywhere in the first half of the 1900s really

  • 2. How far along are you?

Just found out yesterday we are 5wks. EDD 5/30

    3. How are you doing? What is the next milestone you're looking forward to?

Excited but def still worried.  They did see a gestational sac with a yolk sac, no fetal pole yet.  Have to go back next fri.  Looking forward to finally seeing a good HB and then I think I'll be able to finally breath for the first time in almost 2 1/2 months.

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:

Bit disappointed.  Thought we were farther along closer to 6 wks. Doc said he's not worried though since they had no idea when I ovulated. This whole road has been a bit stressful so I can't wait til I can finally just be excited.

    5. GTKY: If you could travel back in time, what time frame would you visit and why?

I would love to live in the late 40's-50's.  Life seemed good back then.  My grandparents always talked about how fab their life was.  Seemed more peaceful (aside from cold war issues).

    3. How are you doing? What is the next milestone you're looking forward to? I'm doing very well now. I had a little scare over the weekend, but went to my high risk appointment yesterday and I saw LO with a strong hb and plenty of movement.

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I've been telling myself each day "today I am pregnant." It's really helped me feel better everyday.

    5. GTKY: If you could travel back in time, what time frame would you visit and why? 1960s in Mexico so I could hang out with my mom and great grandma. My mom always so so many wonderful stories to share about that time.

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:  I'm still feeling pretty gross in the afternoon (although ok in the morning).  Sending out positive vibes for all the mamas who have appointments on Monday too!

    5. GTKY: If you could travel back in time, what time frame would you visit and why?:  I think the 1940s!

  • 7w2d!

I'm doing much, much better. I had begun to worry as my symptoms were lightening up (def. still feeling pregnant though) but today I had my first ultrasound. After seeing a very slow heartbeat and a baby who was behind last time, I was overjoyed to hear two strong heartbeats today! I'm looking forward to another ultrasound in two weeks.

@jdebaie I am doing the same! It freaks me out every morning but by the time my husband gets home from work I feel like crap again. I'm thankful for it though!

I love this GTKY question. I'd love the 50's. I everything about it, the cars, the dress, the music.
  •  Hi!  I am jumping into the board today and hope to stick around this time!!  We had a loss at the end of July and i am thrilled to be back again so quickly after that.

How far along are you?  5+5

How are you doing? What is the next milestone you're looking forward to?  Honestly I'm up and down, I am so excited about this pregnancy, but trying to remain cautiously optimistic is so hard, I just want to be excited and happy.  I'm looking forward to my first u/s just scheduled for Oct 12 - I lost the last a few days before the u/s appointment.

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:  My doctors office receptionist told me today they only routinely do 2 u/s the whole pregnancy - is that normal?  I may ask this to the general board but I always see people with 8, 10, 12, 20, then frequent u/s so I assumed I would get more and I'm a bit bummed.

GTKY: If you could travel back in time, what time frame would you visit and why?  1770's, I would love to see the shaping of the revolution and it's aftermath in person.  I am a history nerd.

  • How far along are you? 9w2d

How are you doing? What is the next milestone you're looking forward to? I'm having my blood drawn next week on Thursday for genetic testing. Next actual appointment is not for another 3 weeks.

Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I'm freaking out a little bit. My nausea was mild yesterday and I have zero today. I had been having all day nausea the entire last week so this is different and starting to worry me. I think I will monitor my symptoms until Friday morning and if I still don't have nausea then, I will probably call my OB. Last time my nausea went away, the pregnancy had stopped growing.

GTKY: If you could travel back in time, what time frame would you visit and why? I would love to be in NY area around the 1830s. Sounds like a fascinating time back then.

  • @MTB16 I do believe 1-2 is the standard for ultrasounds during normal pregnancy. The additional ones are usually due to optional screenings or high risk situations.

  • How far along are you? 8w5d (based on what primary doc told me)

How are you doing? I'm frightened. This is our 3rd pregnancy and I wish we'd could get some sort of proof that everything's ok. So I guess I'm looking forward to my first appointment on Monday.

Rant/ rave/ positive vibes: I want to wear comfy clothes all the time. I feel super bloated and like I've already gained weight. Being active duty I have to wear cammies every day, and I know it's silly to complain about but seriously, I want to wear something a little more stretchy.... Is that too much to ask?

GTKY: I'd love to travel back to the 1920s. I love the fashion and music. I just want to dress up and go to a dance hall for one night.
  • 1. Introduce yourself if you haven't yet - Haven't posted here yet. Am PGAL (10 week loss back in 2010, turned out I had a misdiagnosed septate uterus which was subsequently fixed) and PG after 4.5 years of I guess you would call it secondary infertility. More like plain old NTNP with no luck. DD was born March 2012.

     2. How far along are you? 5w3d but I suspect it's a little further based on when I think I o'ed.

     3. How are you doing? What is the next milestone you're looking forward to? So truly, I thought I lost the pregnancy over the weekend. I had a bunch of bleeding, including some red, and one really bad red episode. But it cleared up really quickly and I started to get suspicious/confused. Went back to the doctor yesterday and they ran betas and did an ultrasound - betas went up to 16,000+ (from 2900+ last Thursday) and they saw the gestational and yolk sac on the u/s. So I guess it's still a go? I am still pretty cautious right now. I have another u/s next Tuesday. I saw DD's heartbeat at 6w0d last time and I feel like I'm pretty close to that now, and they did not see the embryo on the u/s this time.

     4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I am so weak and tired now. DH says I look deathly pale. I was anemic earlier this year so maybe that's back? I'm tired of going to the doctor already.

     5. GTKY: If you could travel back in time, what time frame would you visit and why? Maybe England in 1215 - probably because I just read a book about it. To experience the quiet of the Earth as it must have been would be awesome.

  • @MTB16 Welcome! 2 ultrasounds sound standard. I'm pretty sure there is an older thread already about the number of ultrasounds so you can try to find that before starting a new one. I had three total with my first kiddo, the first was a dating ultrasound which happened to be at 7w6d, the anatomy scan at 20 weeks and one at 36 weeks to make sure she was head down and that there was enough fluid. I'm at a different practice with this one so I don't know what to expect yet.

I'm 6+5 now. I'm doing okay. DH and DD both have been sick with a sore throat/cold but so far, I've been okay. I'm just losing sleep because of the coughing in the MOTN and during naps. We do have a beach trip planned this weekend before it gets chilly so hopefully they're both feeling well enough so really enjoy themselves!

Last week u/s helped but now I'm anxious for the next one since she didn't try to find a heartbeat, in spite of the measurement being spot on. The symptoms and occasional RLP twinges that I'm already getting when I get up too fast are helping me stay sane.

If I was hearing and could travel back in time, I would probably go for the 50s. I've always been curious about my parents upbringing. Otherwise, I'd be happy to stay here ha, the lack of technology scares me. For those who are wondering, I have a cochlear implant that help me "hear", and there are so many more things that are accessible now compared to a decade ago.

  • I'm 8 weeks 4 days....we had our ultrasound this morning and everything looked great!!!!! Measuring exactly and strong heart beat of 169!!!! I have had 3 miscarriages and haven't had a happy ultrasound in over 2 years!!!!! I am on cloud 9 right now!

I am exhausted and queasy all day long but it reminds me I'm still pregnant so I'm ok with it!!
  • @jkp7749 - I think the same thing in the morning, I'm like "Why don't I feel sick?! Is something wrong?!" and then by the afternoon I'm like "Ughhhh I wish I didn't feel this awful!" lol  I can't win with myself!

  • How far along are you? 7w2d, although my U/S earlier this week had me 3 days behind that.  I thinks that's about room for error, right?

How are you doing/Next Milestone:  I had an U/S on Monday and we saw a heartbeat.  I feel so relieved.  Last time I had a dating U/S at what should have been a little over 6 weeks and we only saw the sac.  I MC'd shortly after that.  It's starting to feel real now.

Rant/ rave/ positive vibes: I previously said I wouldn't complain about 1st tri symptoms, but I would like to take that back.  I was never nauseous with my first and it's hit me like a freight train this time around.  Does this mean this kid will sleep better?

GTKY: I think the 60s or 70s could be cool. I assume that in this time travel hypothetical, we are immune to any diseases of the age and surrounded by a safety bubble.  If that's the case, I may be willing to travel farther back...

  • How far along are you? I think 5 weeks today, not entirely sure.

How are you doing/Next Milestone:  I am doing okay. Pretty anxious. Every cramp is stressful. I feel like if I make it past that 7 week mark I will feel a bit better since that is when we miscarried in August. I, also, scheduled an appointment with my OB for that week- so perhaps she will order an ultrasound to help me have a little more peace.

Rant/ rave/ positive vibes: I am now receiving all the medical bills from our ER visit...and it is pissing me off that they split everything into different bills. It just feels like every time I check the mail I am getting another reminder of what happened.

GTKY: Hmmm. I think it would be really cool to go back to the Renaissance era in Europe, but I second what @NotAPlaya-JustCrushAlot said.....I would really only go back if I was in a safety bubble.  Some crazy stuff was going down back then.

  • I'm 9 weeks and 2 days today.

I'm ok! Trying not to freak about every little thing. Next milestone is a follow up ultrasound on Monday to check on a SCH that was found a week and a half ago. Haven't seen any bleeding, so hopefully it's healing on its own. Still nervous though!  And just today started getting nervous about everything still being ok with baby on the next u/s.

Rant: man emotions have been all over the place and I hate not knowing whether I actually can trust my feelings or if it's just hormones. Ugh!

Oh man, I would definitely want to go back to the rat pack's glory days and see Frank Sinatra perform live. What a fun question!

  • I'm about 5 weeks 4 days

I'm hanging in there! I was convinced last week I was miscarrying again after my HCG levels weren't quite what the doctor hoped.  Then got blood taken again and this time they were in the normal range.  Had an ultrasound today and the doctor found a gestational sac and yolk sac but couldn't find a baby yet.  That makes me a bit nervous but he said it's still kinda early for that.  Go back next week for another ultrasound.  He was happy with the progress since last weeks ultrasound.

I don't really have a rant, just trying to stay realistically positive.

I really don't know what time I'd go back to!
  • I'm 6+5 today.

I'm not having a good day today. I'm still having very few symptoms which worries me. I get stretching twinges every now and then but all it does is remind me of how I felt when I started to miscarry. I'm trying so hard to stay positive but the uncertainty is eating me up right now. My first ultrasound is Oct 17th which just seems so far away at this point.

Rant: I have the worst sore throat right now, and feel like I'm coming down with a cold.

I'd love to experience the Georgian Era in England. Society in Jane Austen's novels is so fascinating to me.

  • 2. How far along are you? 7+1

    3. How are you doing? What is the next milestone you're looking forward to? Doing ok. Not getting to anxious yet, especially after a really good first appointment on Monday. I'd say i'm looking forward to 8 weeks because it feels like a milestone, but really i want to get to 10 which is when i had my loss before.

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Rant/Rave combined, I've been having pretty constant morning sickness which is absolutely miserable, but at the same time, I didn't have hardly any last time so it kind of gives me this reassurance that hopefully things are still going ok in there.

    5. GTKY: If you could travel back in time, what time frame would you visit and why? Roman Empire. H and I visited Rome a few years ago and it would be amazing to see how life was in that city at its prime.

@CherryBananas  Creepy internet hugs to you! I know exactly how you feel.  I'm struggling with a bit of the same symptom-less worries myself due to my loss.  My daily mantra is: I am lucky I don't have debilitating nausea (like my last pregnancy) and be happy because today I am pregnant!

    2. How far along are you?
I'm 7 weeks today or tomorrow (I haven't had my dating u/s yet so we'll see in the next week or so FX)

    3. How are you doing? What is the next milestone you're looking forward to?
This sounds soooo weird, but I'm feeling better this week because I finally felt (light) nausea two nights in a row. Honestly, I probably just caught a bit of my son's stomach bug, but I'm secretly attributing it to my pregnancy. My first appointment is on Tuesday and I'm SO nervous because my doctor always sends me to get a dating u/s right after and I'm DYING for confirmation of a baby & heartbeat.

    5. GTKY: If you could travel back in time, what time frame would you visit and why?
My first thought about this question is always that I'm Filipino so I couldn't go ANYWHERE haha.  But, like PPs said, hypothetically in my safety bubble I would like to see some dinosaurs!!
  • I'm feeling a little late to the party but here goes...

1&2.Im 29ish with a 3 yo DD. I've had a rough year with 2 miscarriages. I'm currently 8 weeks along and very hopeful!

    3. I'm 8 weeks and really looking forward to my next ultrasound at 10 weeks.

    4. Moringing sickness has had its ups and downs along with frustrating constipation :( I keep telling myself it could be worse and am thankful to be pregnant and to have made it this far.

    5. To go back in time....... lame but all I wanted was to be a teenager in the 80s. Love me some 80s music!!

I already checked in this week, but had a bit of a scare yesterday and didn't know where else to tell about it. Sorry for being a post hog!

I've been super anal about turning the bathroom light on every time I've gone to the bathroom in the middle of the night to make sure there isn't blood. Well, yesterday morning at 4AM, there was...and it was bright red :( Immediately had a breakdown.

Got in to the doctor at 10AM for an ultrasound, and thank the lord everything was fine. Baby was wiggling away undisturbed. Guessing it was a SCH that was found a couple weeks ago draining some, because it was apparently smaller. It was so terrifying though and I wish that I could get rid of the constant fear associated with "last time."

Anyone have any good coping mechanisms for not comparing everything this go around to a previous loss??
  • @CherylE418 I wish I had the answer to that too! I've even had one successful pregnancy after my loss and am still comparing this pregnancy to my first. I think that to a point, people with losses can't not compare.

But hugs to you!  I'm so glad that your little one is healthy and doing well and just keep reminding yourself that right now you are pregnant and doing the best you can for your baby :)
  • @CherylE418 I'm so glad your LO is fine. I've had one successful pregnancy after a loss which was followed by another loss. I was having a very hard time at first. Then I realized that I wasn't even allowing myself to enjoy this moment. I may feel better once I hit 12 weeks (when I had my second loss) but for now I just tell myself to try and enjoy this day.

    06.2014 - DS2

    10.2015 - loss at 12 wks

  • @CherylE418 - So glad it was the sch and nothing else and that the sch itself is looking better. I try to treat this pregnancy as a different event but sometimes the thoughts do creep back up and it's hard not to compare to "last time". Let's just get to 2nd tri already!

  • @CherylE418 I've been trying so so hard to just quit analyzing every time I go to the bathroom!! I purposefully don't turn the light on in the middle of the night when I have to pee. Haha
When you've had several losses I think it's next to impossible to not compare every little thing good or bad.
I'm glad you were able to get in at the doctor and help ease your mind!
  • Totally late to this, but I can now say I'm the most pregnant I've been all year!  6 weeks, 3 days based on ovulation (7 weeks, 1 day based on LMP).

I can't stand up for more tham five minutes without getting really light headed today, which is weird.  Never had that before.  I guess any symptom is a good sign, but I will definitely go back to taking my prenatals with iron.  I'd rather feel like crap than be anemic which I think is the cause.  But, in good news, I will have an u/s on Friday to make sure the baby has attached in a safe place and get an official due date.

Go back in time?  If I can go back in time with my knowledge that I have now I'd want to go back to the '90s.  I'd know exactly what to invest in and be rich!  I'd buy every single damn Tickle Me Elmo!!

I’m a modern man, a man for the millennium. Digital and smoke free. A diversified multi-cultural, post-modern deconstruction that is anatomically and ecologically incorrect. I’ve been up linked and downloaded, I’ve been inputted and outsourced, I know the upside of downsizing, I know the downside of upgrading. I’m a high-tech low-life. A cutting edge, state-of-the-art bi-coastal multi-tasker and I can give you a gigabyte in a nanosecond! I’m new wave, but I’m old school and my inner child is outward bound. I’m a hot-wired, heat seeking, warm-hearted cool customer, voice activated and bio-degradable. I interface with my database, my database is in cyberspace, so I’m interactive, I’m hyperactive and from time to time I’m radioactive.
