Hi ladies! DH and I are on vacation this week so I won't be checking in as much. Hope everyone is doing well.

QOTW - we decided on the first name so far and will name him after my grandma. Middle name will be after husband's grandpa and we're still undecided on the name. Both are no longer with us. We're Jewish and it's a tradition to name babies after someone who has passed away rather than someone that's still alive. We also typically use the relatives' first initials if we don't use the actual names. We won't be revealing the name to anyone until he's born.

  • Hi ladies! I have been doing the job of two people at work and trying to wrap up some home renovations so I have been MIA. Sorry! I hope everyone is doing well! I haven't been able to read through everything I missed, but I wanted to let everyone know that baby girl and I are doing fine - in case anyone mistook my absence for disaster! No appointments this week (except acupuncture which I desperately need for these headaches!). Two appointments next week, though!

QOTW: We have decided recently on Delaney Marie. Marie is my middle name, but Delaney is original. Our only requirement is that it was Irish :) More good news: Delaney's BFF will be born today! My BFF's water broke this morning

    @tulips29 Enjoy your vacation!!!!

  • Happy Monday! Nothing new to report this week. I can't believe this is my last week in 2nd trimester. I'm so grateful to feel as good as I have felt over the last 26+ weeks. I just love feeling him move all of the time! DH has been able to feel him a bunch too which has been so fun.

@tulips29 - have fun on vacation!
NurseTMD85 - how fun for your BFF's baby!

  • I'm glad everyone is doing great this week have my appointment with high risk dr should get some good pics of the girls faces this time as long as they both cooperate.
QOTW: we have not narrowed down our list and DH wants to see them at the hospital when they are born to decide.  Here are some of our names: Brynn Marie (Brynn because it is close to DHs name Brian and Marie which is his moms middle name) Aubrey Lynn (my dad loves the name and we though it would be funny a and b since that's what we call them and Lynn is my middle name and my moms) and another name that I love but not everyone does is Eloise. We have more on the list but these are my top three.
  • @NurseTMD85 I'm glad that you are doing well, and yay for your BFF's baby! Hope her labor is quick! Delaney is a very cute name. :)

@ultratomato Hope the girls cooperate this time! The names you are thinking are beautiful! I actually like Eloise. And it has cute nicknames too. One name I love for a girl is Eleanor, but DH doesn't like it. I'm hoping I can wear him down if Baby #2 is a girl. Hehe.

@Tulips29 That's a lovely tradition you have. :) Enjoy vacation!

QOTW: We have decided on a name, but are keeping it from everyone (except my little sis who I guess I told months ago... but she can keep quiet.) I don't have any preggo friends right now, but I just want it to be a surprise. We chose an Irish first name and his middle name will be DH's grandfather's name. DH's grandparents paid for his college education in full because they knew he wouldn't be able to go if they didn't, so it's thanks to them that we met. His grandfather passed about 4 years ago.

  • Hi everyone I will be 26 weeks in two days so almost out of second trimester. I can't believe it. I honestly thought i would never see this day. So grateful!!
We are having the toughest time picking out a girls name!! So many I like and none my husband likes.
  • @ultratomato I love Brynn Marie, I have a friend who has a daughter named Quinn Marie. You could do Brynn and Eloise with nn Ellie or Elle!

  • Ugh, I have hit a point where no matter how well I sleep, I am EXHAUSTED in the morning. It takes me forever to get going. Once I am up and moving it gets a bit better, and I don't feel sick throughout the day, but it's really hard to get out of bed. I've actually been sleeping deep enough that I don't always wake up to go to the bathroom, or if I wake up I fall back asleep before I can get up. It's a little concerning because I don't want to end up wetting the bed or something! Anyone else?

  • Love the names and traditions! Our friends and family have been trying to get the initials out of us so they can start guessing on the name and it's getting harder to keep mum. We also want to keep the name a surprise and hope no one guesses it.

@NurseTMD85 im glad to hear you're doing well! I hope this means the results of your tests that you were worried about a few weeks ago came back good.

@ultratomato I really love Eloise. Such a pretty name! Aubrey is one of my faves too.

@Griffin5413 @Drove2u wow, 3rd trimester is right around the corner. How exciting!

@dragonfaerie I think your body will altert you if you really need to get up in the middle of the night. I feel restless a lot of times too. It's getting harder to keep sleeping only on my left side and my body hurts when I wake up. The joys of pregnancy :)

  • @Tulips29 Thanks! I hope that if it gets bad I really will wake up. Hehe. There are some nights for sure that I struggle to stay on my side. I do roll onto my right side sometimes, but if my hips start hurting it's hard not to sleep on my back. Do you have a pillow tucked under your tummy too? That has helped me sleep on my left side.

  • Hi ladies! Happy Monday!

We (by that I mean DH) started the kitchen demo this week! We are down to studs now! So I am displaced from home for a bit. I'm exited to have a real kitchen again!

    24w2d today.

ultrasound tonight! Can.not.wait. Lumpy is doing his jumping jacks and getting ready for his pics to be taken. Hopefully everything is looking good!

Qotw: we are naming Lumpy after my grandpas. So we have 1 fantastic Italian name and a fantastic Polish name and a white-bread American last name. My grandpa that is the middle name has passed away, so I think my dad was very excited we choose it, especially since it is a VERY old fashioned name. Our baptismal name will be Gerard, which is also my father's middle name. We have prayed so hard to ST. Gerard that we have to honor him, so Lumpy will tech have two middle names. We are not sharing the names w anyone (except my parents) on the off chance it changes - if he absolutely does not look the part will be the only way, but just in case we don't want to offend anyone.

  • @dragonfaerie - I was reading something (of course I can't remember where) that talked about if you aren't laying flat on your back, it may not be that bad. It had a video of propping yourself up slightly and also putting a pillow under your knees. I try that sometimes when my sides hurt too much to sleep all night on. I move around so much when I sleep so I needed some other type of alternative besides just the 1 side. Plus when I prop up with a few pillows and elevate my legs, it helps my feet swelling and my sciatic pain.

  • Ugh I hear you @dragonfaerie I am not very comfortable lately sleeping on my sides. I have a 2nd king sized pillow that I put on my side and that kind of helps but I feel like im moving from left to right a lot.

  • @dragonfaerie I put two pillows at my head and against the head board, then I put my snoogle against that and sleep w my head elevated on the pillows and my back proper up on one end of the snoogle, then I put the other end of the snoogle under my knees to keep them propped. It seems to work well! Sleeping on my side was too stressful on my back and hips as of a week or two ago.

I'm loving the name selections and how unique they are!!

  • @dragonfaerie I mainly sleep with just the snoogle and I wrap myself around it. I still end up on my back or half way on my back a lot. My hip starts to hurt after a while too if I sleep on the right. While we're away and I don't have my snoogle, I sleep with 3 pillows behind my back and I prop myself half way up so I'm sort of sitting but not quite. Then I have a pillow between my knees, one stuffed snuggly behind my back so I don't end up flat on it and one in front that I hug. Needless to say poor husband doesn't have much space left in this bed lol. Tonight I actually slept well like this so I might do this at home too when I'm getting uncomfortable. I can't imagine how sleeping will be with a giant belly at 7-8-9 months.

@Tulips29 Haha! Wow that's a lot! I'm still good with just my snoogle and the one tummy pillow, but even that is starting to push DH away. There was a funny article (can't remember if was a Bump one or not) that said to hubbies "You will be replaced.. by pillows." It's so true. It seems like sitting up slightly seems to be a good choice for a lot of people, I might have to try that.

  • Last night, Wee Boy either had the hiccups or was practicing his roundhouse kicks RIGHT behind my belly button. It tickled so bad. I was like "dude, scootch over and kick somewhere else!" I love love love feeling him, but it was maddening too to have him right there. Lol.

  • I bought a body pillow but find it more annoying to sleep with it than without one. Luckily so far knock on wood it hasn't been uncomfortable to sleep. I'm sure it'll come though. Lol
  • I had to get used to the snoogle pillow,  but I think it helped me greatly in getting rid of the hip discomfort I was having during the day.  The only problem is it's annoying if I want to lay on my other side.  I have to flip the pillow over for it to be most comfortable. As far as sleeping on my back,  I keep the pillow under me slightly so it feels like I'm laying on my back,  I'm not really flat on my back. When I have the long part of the pillow near the edge of the bed  so I sleep on one side,  I have to climb over the pillow or lift up up.  It's a little awkward and difficult at times since my bed is kind of high off the ground.  I end up flopping onto the bed.  :) I'm sure I'll figure out a better way to get into the bed when  I get bigger.

Qotw: DH and I decided on  a name after our first set of bloodtests came back.  I was so nervous we'd have trouble coming up with a name we liked,  and I was more afraid he'd want to involve his parents to see what they thought.... since he tends to ask them their opinion on everything. Since we're Jewish,  we also agreed that we wanted to name him after relatives that had passed away.  I already had  a list of names I liked, but when  he mentioned the name he was thinking of,  (named after his grandmother) I really liked it as a first name (I think it was  actually on my list.)  I came up with  a middle name in honor of my paternal grandmother.  Even though I was close to other grandmother,  no one else was named after my paternal grandmother.  I chose a name that I wouldn't have normally chosen as a first name,  but it sounded good  with the first name.  I think it will be especially meaningful to my father. My paternal grandfather is 103 and  I hope he'll be around to learn that we named the baby after his wife.  I am happy that  DH and  I are the only ones that know the name,  but honestly I can't wait to tell our parents the name. Maybe we'll find a special way to tell them shortly before he's here.
  • @LynnNJ I definitely understand feeling stuck in bed with the Snoogle. I feel like an overturned beetle sometimes trying to get up.

  • @chicandbubbly By far, Snoogle was the most comfy body pillow and has been well worth it, especially since you can use it as a Boppy once baby comes. I think it was $60 at Bed Bath and Beyond and then you could use one of their ubiquitous 20% coupons on it.

  • @chicandbubbly - I definitely think it's worth the cost. But I agree with everyone else, make sure you can get it on sale. I find myself switching every few days between the snoogle and then the back pillow combination. I sleep a few nights on my sides with the Snoogle and a few nights on my back with all of the pillows to give my hips a break.

  • Hello! I started 2nd trimester this week. Still feeling a little nauseous, but definitely better. We did IVF and chose a PGS tested XX embryo for FET. My 2nd OB appointment is next week. We already had NIPT done and will ask about NT (not sure if it's too late or even needed) and an echo-cardiogram. My next US is the anatomy scan in 4 more weeks.

@Tulips29 Hope you're enjoying vacation! Here's my info for the list: @mrygoround EDD 3/28/17 with 1 girl! Thanks!

QOTW: Both of our families name one son after the father, but there aren't any traditions for girls. We thought we had a girl name picked until we started telling people and getting feedback. Someone said we looked like a couple who would have a child with that (conservative and traditional) name. :|  We also realized how popular it is right now. We wanted a name/nickname combo that is strong and energetic, can be professional, but it's also cool and not too popular or weird. We think we've found a new one and we are keeping it a secret. :)
