Re: PGAL weekly check in 9.26.16
25 weeks and 5 days. EDD is January 4th but inducing around the 39 week mark due to diabetes. Team Blue!
Tired but good. I've lost the filter that goes from my brain to my mouth. Normal?
3. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)
Pretty good. I have a viable fetus so that helps. Also he moves around in there like crazy which helps me tell myself he's ok.
4. When is your next appointment?
October 4th
Everyone "having the right" to tell me what I should or shouldn't be doing with the pregnancy.
6. Anything else on your mind?
Nope not really.
7. GTKY - I'm stealing this one from the Internet - name three characters that mixed together are a representation of you!
Haha I did this on facebook. Scarlett O'Hara from Gone With the Wind, Judy Bernly from 9 to 5 the musical and Zach Galafianakis's character in The Hangover just because I can be very awkward sometimes lol.
4. How are you feeling (anxiety wise) Overall good. I have an appointment with both my OB and my Internist tomorrow and will learn more about what the appointment plan is now based on my GD. My numbers have been good so that is helping the anxiety a little bit. Still a lot of unknowns about the end of my pregnancy but I've decided to focus on what I can control now (what I eat, activity, nesting) and worry about the rest when the time comes. I also have signed up for a few classes to help prepare for the unexpected.
5. When is your next appointment? Tomorrow with both the OB and my Internist. Just normal check in appointments
7. Anything else on your mind? If anyone has any extra prayers please pray for Eastern Iowa. We are in the middle of major flooding, forecasted to hit the second highest record in history (record was in 2008). The city I'm in is as prepared as you can be and now it's a waiting game to see if what we learned in 2008 is going to work. We also were fortunate to have 3 days to prepare.
8. GTKY - I'm stealing this one from the Internet - name three characters that mixed together are a representation of you! No idea...I will think on it and edit if I come up with something.
25 weeks 1/8/17 Team Pink
Swollen- feet, ankles and legs mainly. Lots of leg cramps. Still having contractions daily- extra water and walking slower aren't really helping.
4. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)
I'm doing alright. I am just hoping that I can keep her cooking for another 12 weeks, but I'm pretty sure I can handle 12 weeks. Feeling pretty anxious for my GD test next week though. I really don't want to have to GD- I know it's not the end of the world and there are medicines and dietary changes I can make- but I just don't want another thing to worry about.
5. When is your next appointment?
Either the 3rd or the 4th. I thought it was the 3rd but wrote down the 4th in my notebook- so I have to call this week to confirm.
Rants- I hate my swollen ankles/feet.
Raves- The women at my nail salon give the best pedicures. I would leave my husband for them in a second.
7. Anything else on your mind?
My mom and MIL seem to have finalized my shower dates. So I'm trying not to buy anything else until the after the showers. But I just want to decorate her nursery and wash and put away all of her clothes.
8. GTKY - I'm stealing this one from the Internet - name three characters that mixed together are a representation of you! I have no idea. I would like to say I'm far to unique for this- but I'm just drawing a blank.
BFP#4- 9/26 edd 6/5/18
@LilLynch2015 I hear you, I think that was part of why I took the GD diagnosis so hard, I didn't want one more thing to worry about. On the plus side, since I started eating better I have felt a lot better. It's annoying and there are still a lot of what ifs that go through my mind for delivery and end of pregnancy stuff but for right now it hasn't been too bad and not as restrictive as I expected, just more control. FX you don't have it!!
That's exciting about your shower and I totally remember that feeling from my first, wanting to get everything ready but waiting for the shower to see what I got. I will admit, I checked my registries frequently to see what people had bought to get an idea of what I was going to still need to get or to mentally plan based on what I knew was coming.
22+3, Blue, Late Jan
Good. Getting lots of movement which I love! I have gone from stopped up, pooping every few days to like pooping every day again. I'm sure it's normal, but after not having to do #2 as often it's now weird.
4. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)
I'm going good!
5. When is your next appointment?
Oct 14
I coordinated a wedding this weekend. Outdoors. In Alabama for 12 hours. I'm beat. I can't tell if the leg pain on my right side is from the wedding or from baby on that side, or both. And not being able to take anything for relief is HORRID! Hopefully tomorrow I'll feel 100%.
7. Anything else on your mind?
If this "cold front" of 80 degree weather goes through, I might be able to get some cute new "fall" maternity clothes. Sigh. It was 100 here yesterday.

I'm also 99% sure I will be checking my registries often. I doubled up on some of the gifts on the registries because DH's family lives in a pretty rural area so I figured they would be buying online more whereas my family is much more likely to go to Babies R Us. So I'm going to have to delete gifts from the other registry when I see they have been purchased. Plus I remember stalking my wedding registry when we were getting married- I know it's tacky- but I would just be so curious.

2. how far along are you? EDD? Team green pink or blue?
22 weeks 4 days Blue January 25th
Pretty good. Was totally shocked to find out I gained 4 lbs in 2 weeks at my appointment today! I'm at 7 lbs total which is fine but evidently I need to get my snacking under control.
4. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)
A lot more confident after growth scan today. It was supposed to be last week hit my appointment for cancelled so I was anxious all weekend. But baby measures right on target again.
5. When is your next appointment?
Ocober 5th, follow up anatomy scan and 24 week appointment
There is one nurse at my OBs practice who I fucking hate and I had her today. She never reads my chart and always asks "is this your first?" or some stupid variation. When I went in for my 6 week follow up after my stillbirth last year, she thought it was a prenatal appointment and asked me if baby was moving. I can see the computer screen from the patient table, somewhere it always says "fetal demise at 25 weeks," but she is too lazy to even skim.

8. GTKY - I'm stealing this one from the Internet - name three characters that mixed together are a representation of you!
Wednesday Adams, April Ludgate, and Christina Yang.
25w6d 1/4/17 Team pink!
My sleep is shit, but I'm finding the lazier I am throughout the day, the better I can sleep at night. A sore back does not lead to a great night's rest. Otherwise, back/hip aches are my main plague right now.
4. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)
Pretty good. I have a mover and a shaker in there. I can even see her kicks from the outside now (though it is just where she forcefully jiggles my fat...)
5. When is your next appointment?
Oct 7th GDS and OB checkup
I have a page in my grant that specifically can only be a single page in length. I'm 5 lines over limit, so I send it to my mentor to see where we can take some things out. He adds 3 lines. So now I will stare at this for hours until I can figure out what critical thing to delete to get down to page limit.
7. Anything else on your mind?
Is is Christmas break yet? I just want to be sitting on my couch, cross stitching, with everything I need to have done completed, just waiting on the baby to come.
8. GTKY - I'm stealing this one from the Internet - name three characters that mixed together are a representation of you!
Leslie Knope - hyper-organized with a lot of drive
Liz Lemon - sarcastic, opinionated, funny, gets labeled as a bitch a lot
Jessica Day - bright colors, crafts, mildly crazy
That is horrible about that nurse. I think if that happened to me, I would probably leave the practice or walk out of the room and request that she never be assigned to me again.
2. how far along are you? EDD? Team green pink or blue?
25 weeks tomorrow - 1/10/17 - Team pink
Pretty good but starting to feel big at times and starting to have more SI pain which makes it hard to get comfortable and sleep. Have a chiropractor appointment set for Friday so I'm hopeful that that will help.
4. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)
Not anxious about the pregnancy but instead about how much we need to do in the next 15 weeks! Still working on figuring out daycare. Our first pick can't confirm whether we have a spot until Feb 1 so I need to decide on a second choice and see how much it costs to put down a deposit to save a spot so we make sure we have something come April when I have to go back to work. And...we hadn't even started looking for any baby things until this weekend. Holy cow.... we are on overload and only looked at strollers and car seats! The girls I work out with are throwing me a shower at the end of October, so I have to pull something together soon!!
5. When is your next appointment?
October 17th. Need to do the GD test at that next appointment too

Belly is feeling tight and heavy now. I think my skin is really stretching and my torso is so short to begin with. I don't think the tightness is BH because it's not like it comes and goes; it's pretty constant. Usually much worse after a meal though!
4. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)
Decent. It's a little difficult to gauge what is normal from what might not be normal, so that's hard for me. I feel like every twinge, pain, or weird sensation gives me pause.
5. When is your next appointment?
I go for my gluclose screening this week. I won't have an appointment though. My next appointment is Oct 12 at 28 weeks.
We just had a big storm come in that brought some cooler weather, which I have been craving. Hoping it lasts for a while!!
7. Anything else on your mind?
Is it Friday yet???
8. GTKY - I have to come back to this one. It will require some thought haha I didn't want to wait any longer to post though!
@lillynch2015 I'm nervous for my test too. I generally eat well, but I do like to have something sweet at night. I was considering cutting that out this week in preparation for the test, but I don't even know if it matters!
The a1c is the long term look, it takes in to account 3 months history. The typical 1 hour glucose test will look at your blood sugar 1 hour after ingesting something like 70g of carbs (I am not positive this is the right number of carbs for the 1 hour test, the 3 hour is 100g). One thing I do suggest, don't eat much for carbs a couple hours before your test, and make sure you have good sources of protein at your meals. If you have GD you have it, but since the 1 hour test is not a fasting test, if you ingest carbs right before your test, it ups the number of carbs in your system and since the drink has what I consider a rather high amount in it to start with, you don't need more. It's a lot for your body to process. The proteins help your body effectively break down the carbs. The 1 hour is really just signaling to the doctor if you may have it and need further testing (depending on your numbers some will diagnose off of the 1 hour but typically you'll move on to the 3 hour test). Since the 3 hour test is a fasting test, it really shows how your body reacts to the sugar. This is not all technical, some high level but a lot of what I've learned.
Also, the hardest thing for me to come to terms with but what made the biggest difference was accepting that it's not my fault. It's not because I ate more sugar or carbs the first part of my pregnancy. It's because every woman while pregnant requires an increase in insulin production to support baby and hormones and everything else happening. Some women's bodies just can't keep up with the needed insulin production. So, 2 things to remember. If you fail your 1 hour test, it doesn't mean you are going to fail your 3 hour test AND if you are diagnosed with GD it's not your fault.

2. how far along are you? EDD? Team green pink or blue?
1/10/17, 25w, 1d, Pink
Some sciatic pain, restless sleeping, peeing a lot more lately, some baby kicks/rolls are getting painful
4. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)
Pretty good. Not looking forward to GD test.
5. When is your next appointment?
Thurs. 9/29
I effectively blocked a neighbor who was going in for the belly rub by putting my hand on my belly and rubbing it first. I don't mind if my mom or sisters do it (and even they ask), but I had JUST met this woman.
7. Anything else on your mind?
Trying not to get sad over the fact that this might be my last pregnancy (not sure that we'll go for a third). For all of its hardships, I do like being pregnant. I get sentimental over everything in life.

Totally throwing these out there quickly (some might be wishful thinking): Lorelai Gilmore, Pam (from the Office), Jess (from New Girl, for the random singing).

4. How are you feeling (anxiety wise) Fine. I feel like this pregnancy has been slow so it's easy to take things at a relaxed pace. I get super panicky when baby hasn't moved too much in a day or two. My cousin recently had a late loss at 6 months, so it's made me a bit more paranoid.
5. When is your next appointment? Next week is my glucose test. Yummy red syrup!
7. Anything else on your mind? I feel like I've been eating so much junk during this pregnancy. Like tons of unhealthy, processed foods and I just can't stop.

2. how far along are you? EDD? Team green pink or blue? 22+1, Feb 1, Pink
Really, pretty good. A little bit of reflux here and there, occasional restless legs at night, tired a lot. All in all, not really anything worth complaining about.
4. How are you feeling (anxiety wise)
I'm finally starting to feel the little Tapeworm's kicks and jabs! (Hallelujah!) It not consistent for me yet, but it's reassuring to know she's moving around in there. I'm almost scared because things have gone so well so far (pregnancy wise) that I feel like the something bad will happen later - I know it's irrational, but it's definitely there. I have my next ultrasound coming up next week, so there's always some anxiety that comes with that, but I'm pretty ok.
5. When is your next appointment?
Next Saturday, October 8 for ultrasound with MFM
7. Anything else on your mind? My mom is home from rehab! It's so nice to not have to spend 2 hours there every day, but it comes with its own set of frustrations. It would be nice it she could try to NOT push my buttons... Sigh
