The progression in the HDBD pictures is making I am irrationally pre-annoyed at the amount of FTM's that will start to say/think they have a leak when really it just takes longer/ more work to empty your bladder and you've peed yourself...

Think I have been around the bump to long..

@RunBooRun My home getup is boy shorts and a top with no bra. DH doesn't get why I'm not semi-decent most of the time, since I use that as an excuse to not answer the doorbell. However, I'm not one of those who are apt to answer the door anyway if I'm not expecting someone over. My house is my sanctuary. (I realize this makes me sound like a half-nude recluse, but seriously, in this day and age with cell phones, you are a loony if you think it's kosher to just pop by my house unannounced and expected to be graciously received.)
Even when I'm fully clothed, I don't answer the door if I'm not expecting someone over!!!

@peony2418 Oh ya. Same here. I'd hoped that was implied but definitely agreed!

RE not answering the door - I totally hide around the corner and check to make sure they leave. I won't answer if I'm home alone and no one told me they were coming. If DH is home, he might answer the door.

I don't really see how one follows the other.

Super early bump pics = people being excited to participate in a weekly thread. I haven't seen any being all "Look at my supa awesomely huge 8 week bump!!!!!11111!!!!!!". Most people admit that its a blump when its early.

Thinking you're leaking when peeing yourself = lack of medical knowledge.

I just don't really see the connection between wanting to participate on the board and a lack of knowledge.

LOL @RunBooRun!!  I do the same thing.  And when I'm walking up to check if they've left, I'm on my tip toes just in case they can hear me coming to the door.

@kiyamurph I've done monkey baths when in a huge rush! That's a fitting term!

I've definitely done the "monkey bath" before

My dress clothes are off as soon as I walk in the door...then it's sweats/usually one of DH's t-shirts/no bra/hair up. I'm definitely not answering any doors! Usually neither of us will answer the door if we aren't expecting someone, but will move away from windows in case some nosy-rosy peeks in.  :p

@liepertsm Yeah, DH is all about answering the door. I rationalize it's because he's 6'3 and a big dude. I'm a tiny person. I've listened to enough true crime podcasts to know not answer the door when I'm home alone. ;) I also just don't like people. My friends think I'm joking, but if they were to come to my house unannounced, I wouldn't like them either. (Emergencies are an exception - but we live 30 minutes away from the city so that reason is extremely unlikely.)

Ditto, @dubcompanion! If I didn't have time to prepare for someone's arrival, I don't really want to talk to them and definitely don't want to invite them inside.

People thinking they are leaking  when they aren't is pretty common. Lots of changes happen with discharge in the third tri.

I am fairly educated on the topic and I likely had a very slow leak with my second. I never would have thought it would have happened like that after how my water broke with my first, but it did.

I enjoy watching pimple porn like dr. pimple popper on instagram/youtube. I love popping pimples, its so gross but so satisfying- I beg DH to let me pop any pimples he has....I really think I missed my calling as a dermatologist.

As the bumps get bigger it gets more complex to actually empty your bladder so it's as I see everyone getting bigger it reminds me that that situation is going to happen over and over and over in the threads when really it's just the way your uterus is sitting on your bladder making it harder and take more work to actually empty your bladder therefore you're leaking urine after you left the bathroom and inevitably there comes the threads of am I leaking or is this pee

    At first I thought, "Barf!"
And then I realized I like peeling dead skin off afar a sunburn, even other people. I suppress this urge usually. Now you all know how weird and gross I am.

I totally get that. Not judging the peeing/leaking thing. My point is that I don't see what it has to do with HDBD. I also don't get what's happening on the HDBD posts that is annoying. Really I'm just confused by the FFFC.

edit: reread what you posted and it makes more sense. I just agree with the poster below that people should be able to post questions when they need advice or can't tell if something is alarming enough to call your dr. I know I'm more likely to ask you all because you're going through the same things than someone IRL.

@kellyt27 absolutely.  I didn't notice any leaking, but I had almost no fluid left and I went to the doctor because I couldn't feel my baby moving. I was induced immediately after my ultrasound.  9/10 everything is absolutely fine, but in my case it wasn't.

I went to L&D with my first when I thought I was leaking at 35 weeks. We had sex the night before and I guess some escaped the next day. I was horrified when the nurse was like, "Oh yeah, it's just from having sex!" She was fine with it but I wanted to crawl in a hole.

Its not Friday but I'm going to hell for this one.
We have an absurd amount of Jehovah's witnesses come to our doors each month (like over 7 different people).
We respect everyone's right to religion but have no interest in being pestered like they do.
So this morning I get woken up to a knocking, my friends also we on the couch and texts me to 'make it stop'.
I go to the door (in my short shorts and t shirt with no bra and crazy hair) and open it. Right away they start in with their speal.
So normally most people would say not interested.
I've done that before and it just doesn't work.
So I decided to pretend to be dead.  So thats why I'm burning in hell. They were so taken aback that the handed me a brochure and left.
Ugh. At least it worked right ?

Re: all the leaking talk. I agree with people saying better to be safe than sorry. It's sometimes hard to tell. I sincerely believe I was leaking last pregnancy, but the OB examined me, said there wasn't enough pooling for it to be leaking, and declared it discharge (I hadn't had ANYTHING like that until that day). Now this was not a big deal in my case really, because I was 40w exactly and my water broke noticeably the next morning (which to me is just further evidence that I was right, but I'm no doctor). And then it broke again in another huge gush when they were placing internal monitoring for labor. I had no idea it could happen that way. I always assumed it was very obvious and very "complete" as soon as it happened. I still fully believe that I did have a pinprick leak on my EDD (DS wasn't actually born until 2 days later).

And this isn't on the topic of leaking, but just another instance of one pregnant lady reminding another to question anything you need to, no matter how silly it may end up being. When I was pregnant with DD, I had a great check-up at 28w0d, no signs of a problem. Within the next few days I started getting this back pain. I blew it off as a typical pregnancy symptom for third tri (because of course), took Tylenol, warm baths, etc. By the third (I think?) day of that, the pain was so bad that medication was doing nothing for me. It was 11 PM and I told my husband (and called my mom) saying I wanted to go to the hospital and they both thought I may as well wait until morning and see my OB instead. I insisted. It turns out that I had been developing pre-e/HELLP that somehow had not shown up during routine testing at 28 weeks. The pain in my back had been my kidneys. DD was born the next morning (c-section) at 29w0d, so all of that happened in less than the course of one week. Doctors said it was so bad that letting it go on any further than it had could have meant losing the baby or seizures and death for me. Point being, question anything that doesn't feel "right" to you, even if you think you can attribute it to a normal pregnancy symptom.
