GTKY- Football?

Fantasy Football has turned my husband into a couch potato... He is watching the red zone and has two other games going. This has been going on since 10 am. I am atleast thankful for a quiet Sunday!

He is a diehard Steeler fan, per marriage contract I must cheer for them too! I grew up cheering for the Patriots! Anyone else waving their terrible towel? Whose your team?

  • The steelers are embarassing today- my DH gave up and went to cut the grass...
  • I'm a loyal Texans fan and DH roots for the Pats. We also support 49ers!

  • I'm a diehard 49ers fan. I don't want to talk about it
  • Jets by marriage
  • Colts fan here! (Unfortunately this year, but thank goodness we pulled it off today and didn't get to start 0-3). Also a broncos sympathizer just because I watched them so much to see Peyton. This is actually the first year since 1994 that we don't have season tickets, but I'm totally relieved since we look so bad!

Lions! We're diehard fans, even through their dark period (aka the year they went 0-16). College- University of Michigan!
  • Diehard Bengals fans!!! Who Dey!!! Which unfortunately means that I've been raised to loathe those terrible towels ;)

NFL is great in our house, since H and I root for opposing teams in college sports. So the Bengals bring us together. I'm actually a little bummed that he just turned on "Back to the Future" instead of Sunday Night Football...but I can't say much since I'm writing a paper and not really watching. Football addict here!
  • KC Chiefs baby! But, if you were to ask my husband about football, he would be talking about soccer. He is the biggest fan of Manchester United football club and that's what we're watching every week right now.
  • I'm a cowboys fan....how I was raised.  I do cheer for the Bears (thanks to my marriage). But not tonight!! Go Cowboys!
  • My SO likes NFL (Vikings), basketball (Blazers), and soccer (Timbers-mens/Thorns-womens). I like to watch basketball and soccer with him, but football is just too slow. He used to annoy me so much with fantasy football because he would use the TV, his laptop, and his phone to track all the teams/games. (this was years ago before I had a smartphone and when my laptop had died- I just wanted to use some of the electronics too!) Unforunately, my SO has to work on Sundays (just until the election is over), so he can't watch much NFL right now.

Funny AW side story, over the past 5 years I had aquired a bag full of baby clothes from items I had bought from work yard sales (the childcare center I worked at would sell "school" clothes when they aquired more than they had space for), items returned to me when my friends' kids outgrew them, and a couple of my own old baby items that my mom dug up. I'd rotate the clothes to the next baby I knew, but in the last couple of years I haven't known anyone close enough to give the clothes to. Some items I kept in the bag on purpose, like my old baby stuff, and a little NFL Viking shirt/short set. We live on the west coast, so I was so surprised to find that at a work sale. I grabbed it for my "future" kids.

In June, my SO and I were finally getting to our "spring cleaning" and purging our small, urban apartment of things we don't absolutely need because we just don't have enough storage space. We had boxes sitting since we had moved two years ago... While making bags of our own clothes to sell/donate, we also finally donated the baby clothes. His reasoning was that we still weren't having kids for a while (at least until I finished school), and that when we did, we'd be able to afford new items. Two months later, and surprise! I'm pregnant. Figures.

  • I just dug through old photos and found one of DD in her Pats gear. I just wanted to AW this since we seem to have a few Pats fan here! My mom had bought her a cute Texans outfit but it ran huge and wouldn't fit until after football season was over. Oh well.

  • Just like @Yiggle09 Jets by marriage but I have fully converted to a football fan. I play fantasy football too.
  • Die hard Giants fans in my house! Go Big Blue! DH and I do 2 fantasy teams together and I'm commissioner of an all girl league with some girls from my son's BMB.

"Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?...But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:26-27&33-34
