I'm going to try and organize cupboards in my hallway, plus rearrange my room to fit baby's furniture. Hopefully I have enough energy to finish these tasks.
We have brunch and dinner plans today. Otherwise chores and getting ready for being out of town the next two weekends and baby stuff. Doing the dreaded day care research is at the top of my list.
I brought my daughter to get her flu shot this morning (fun fun...) but then we got coffee (me) and cake pops (her) from starbucks and went to bed bath and beyond to make the trip out of the house less sucky. Now, I'm waiting for a longtime friend to arrive while DD sleeps in the car bc girlfriend can't handle a car ride without falling asleep 4 minutes before we get home.
DD has a birthday party for one of her friends today at a pumpkin patch. I've been so excited about it all week. Picking out a pumpkin, taking a hayride, everything fall! HOWEVER, the weather decided to be a dick and have a random 92 degree day! WTF. Doesn't help that the party is during the hottest part of the day.
Oh well. I still decorated my house for fall this morning and tomorrow MIL is bringing us lunch and baby presents. Then....FOOTBALL!
I went shopping this morning to get some things we were out of. I picked up a couple of newborn size footed pj's for baby while we were there. So cute!
When I got home, I had a sudden wave of fatigue, so I'm relaxing until energy hits again. I'm hoping my mom might bring lunch by and help me start cleaning out the guest room later.
DH got up with the boys this morning and let me sleep in. We are having a lazy day but tonight is SIL birthday party so my husband is going with our oldest while I stay home and put baby to bed. Tomorrow is the Tigers game and then going to see the BFG with my parents. Busy weekend!
Running errands and then Phantom of the Opera tonight.
I might go to SF tomorrow @marynog although I saw that Pacifica might be cooler. Or I could just find somewhere with AC to lurk at all day. Basically my plans for tomorrow involve staying cool.
I drove two hours there and two hours back for DH's cousin's baby shower. I'm exhausted now but our bowling league starts tonight. I don't bowl but the wives usually hang out and drink - well not this year. Four... yes 4... of us are pregnant. I suppose we'll just eat and share pregnancy stories instead.
Tomorrow I'm making potato and corn chowder (it's down to 65 here) and watching football. A lovely, relaxing Sunday for us.
This is our last weekend in our apartment (doing a tiny babymoon next weekend to Chicago to see Sigur Ros, have to be moved into our house the Friday following next weekend!) so nothing but home-preparedness taking place right now. My contributions are so minimal--just packing things--but OH and his dad are Getting Shit Done™. I'm so thankful for his dad, who's nearly 70 years old but for seriously 6 weekends in a row has driven 2 hours up here from Louisville to help work on our new house:
They're almost through laying down flooring in our master bedroom and halfway through with the nursery, woo.
Hubby is working all day at his side gig as a limo driver so DS and I are staying inside playing and I'm finishing up our bathroom project. Finally got the DIY Board and Batten wall done. I'm exhausted but so excited to see my Pinterest boards come to life!
My fiancée is in Oklahoma for work But my sweet dad came to my house today to move our old queen size mattress out of the way so the delivery men could drop off our new king size (WOOOOO). My dad also built the new bed frame and attached the new headboard. Also, I had a guy come out and completely detail the inside and outside of my car & shampoo the seats (for $85, whaaaaaaaat). Just so happy to have gotten those looming to dos checked off. My car was so gross so now I feel much better about putting a car seat in there. I am relaxing now and hopefully tomorrow the person that's interested in purchasing our old queen headboard actually comes through! My feet hurt. Yay football and HGTV!
We went camping. O_o my DH and I are the most non-outdoorsy people ever and we did it. We took our 2 oldest to their cub scout family campout. And my back hurts. I'm sorry all over, and I never want to do that while pregnant again. (Honestly if we use an air mattress I'd be golden).
So. Much. Accomplished. Kitchen nest-list completed. Fall/Winter clothes that won't work for maternity wear packed away. All the laundry in the house is clean and put away. And I'm about to eat some Ben & Jerry's and work on the baby blanket. Whew. I will sleep well tonight.
I threw a baby shower today. I've been making decorations for weeks whenever my son is sleeping or otherwise occupied or when my husband is home and can distract him. I'd been at the venue for 12+ hours a day for the last few days putting up decorations - with my son riding his tricycle around and such until help arrives and can help. I prepped for about 60 people and only about half of the people who RSVP'd actually showed up so I had way too much food but I'm glad we were over prepared than under prepared. I'm not sure how to go back to normal life after this event. It's consumed so much of me for so long. I've been one distracted mama.
I'm so tired. I had a very long and stressful day at work and it's only the beginning. The next two weeks are going to be so busy at work! I'm soaking up all the time I can with my bed until I work tomorrow.
Our RainbowBaby H arrived at 37 weeks on 12/20/16!

Ughhhhh! I have been tossing and turning all night, so I got up just now (3 a.m.) to go to the bathroom and take some Zantac. I started feeling like I was going to puke, so I flushed quickly and turned around and could not stop.
I puked at least 6 times and then sat there and basically spit up stomach acid and dry heaved.
I feel AWFUL, and of course DH won't be home until noon tomorrow. I'm going to have to call my parents for help, which I hate having to do, but there's no way I can take of DD feeling like this.
I can't tell if this is MS or the stomach flu, but either way I am so over it!
Weekend's almost over and I have gotten nothing done! Friday night I crashed and burnedand , yesterday we ran a couple errands and visited my aunt in the hospital, then H attended a premier and I skipped out because as soon as 5-6pm rolls around my belly feels like 800 pounds and my hips feel like they're breaking apart.
Today I'm grocery shopping and cleaning a bit, and finalizing my new home office shopping list (thank goodness for year end and "electronics allowances" at work!!) so I can start WFH next month. And hopefully getting H to help me with a few more things I need 3-4 hands for before he leaves for NYC for work for 5 days!
@emy730 I'm so sorry! Being sick with a baby/toddler to care for is really hard. It's torture really. I hope you get well soon and can get rest. It's hard to ask for help but sounds like you really need it.
Is it completely irrational to be upset when people assume you're not pregnant at this point? Like, it's literally 1 week away from 3rd trimester and someone at Pottery Barn Baby asked me if I needed a gift receipt and I just about lost it.
@canavara the woman working at Buy Buy Baby asked me if I needed a gift receipt for my nursing pads last week. In her defense, I didn't know boobs could leak during pregnancy. However I'm clearly pregnant and probably need them. Also why would I buy those for someone else? Maybe it's just reflex from working retail?
Yeah I can't imagine anyone buying nursing pads as a gift I'm probably just being overly sensitive--I just feel jealous of people that get asked "when's your due date?" and "what are you having?"--it's so weird to be this far along and no one says a thing. Maybe people think it but they're also so gun shy to assume or say anything either way.
haha it does seem weird to be buying nursing pads for someone else. I actually put them on my registry so that I can buy a couple of boxes with a completion discount, but I'd be surprised if anyone bought them as gifts. Mmmm now I'm wondering if it was super weird to put them on a registry
Same here! I put a ton of breastfeeding accessories on my registry (pads, storage bags, extra parts, ice packs). Sometimes people do themed gift baskets or my close friends who also breastfed might know how important those items are for a new mom. Otherwise I've started using the registry to gather items I'll need, regardless if someone buys it for me or not.
Haha I bought my friend nursing pads for her shower this weekend. I went to babies r us thinking that I wanted to get her stuff she needed, not the cute stuff because most people buy that stuff. I put 5 packs of nursing pads on my registry and I hope I get them lol.
@LeahNicole I'm hoping we get the useful stuff too! Nail trimmers aren't as cute as tiny hats, but I'm sure that I'll use them more! we are not having a baby shower so I'm guessing very few people will buy stuff off our registries. I mostly set them up to keep track of the stuff we need and take advantage of discounts.
@canavara I didn't know those pads could be warmed! I've been experiencing on and off pain this weekend, so I've been dragging a bath towel around to do warm compresses (apparently we don't own any wash clothes). I'm going to pick up a pack at Target as soon as I get out of work!
Re: Weekend Shenanigans
Oh and I started a pregnancy yoga class today, it was great!
the bump ate the rest of my post... We're also going out to get sushi tonight and we're having family over tomorrow for a bbq. Yay weekend!

@LastMango, a birthday party at a pumpkin patch is brilliant! Sorry about the weather, but man, what a great idea!

She's going to my SILs house to play with my nieces while I go to dinner with a few friends.
