The Babies R Us Trade In Event is going on now until October 2nd!

If you have an old carseat, expired/broken or just don't like it, trade it in to Babies R Us for 25% off a new car seat! I know a couple moms on the 2+ thread were discussing car seats possibly being expired, so perfect time to upgrade!

And you can also open a BRU credit card (recommend paying it off right away) and save an additional 15%. If you are having multiples you can also get an additional 10% off with the MoM discount.

I bought some very cheap used car seats (1 for $5 and 1 for $10) to do the trade in and save some cash. We did this last year and paid less than half for more than $700 in car seats.

h&p_momma, thanks so much for posting this! Our BRU is a few towns over, so I probably wouldn't have heard about the sale otherwise.

They also do another baby gear trade in in the spring. That one you can trade in any baby gear not just carseats.

I'm stressed because my parents have a carseat at their house that I could trade in, but they won't be home until this 'event' is over. I'm scared LO won't be in his infant seat long enough to take advantage of the next one.

How old is your LO? I always moved my girls to
the convertible seat right around 12 months, still rear facing of course! I got tired of lugging around the infant seat once they get to he so heavy!

He'll be a year in November. He's quite short, so I don't think we'll hit the height limit soon, but I still think February might be pushing it.

We went on a trip this summer and bought a smaller stroller to take with us. I made the switch from his caddy stroller then, and haven't really had to tote him in his seat since. I mostly just leave it in my car.

My DD2 is only in the 5th percentile for height, but most convertible car seats actually have height and weight limits that go as low as an infant! We have the Britax Pavillion which came with an infant insert from the manufacturer. I know our seat for rear facing limits ranges from 5-40lbs. I never waited until my kids hit the height or weight limit on their infant seats, otherwise my two year old could probably still fit in the infant seat! Lol
