Scary couple of days

Hey ladies...I have been trying to decide if I wanted to share this or not.  Wednesday at work I started bleeding.  I work in a medical laboratory for a group of primary care physicians along with an urgent care.  I went to our urgent care where they were unable to help me so they sent me to the ER down the road.  I had bright red blood and clots so I was definitely thinking this was it.  Labs ran...and ultrasound done...Baby had a heart beat of 125...measuring 6w4d.  They believe I have a sch, but we're not 100 percent sure so they said it could be a threatened miscarriage.  Sent me home with a work excuse for 2 days...told me to take it easy and if it got worse to come back.  I called my ob the next day...they did not want to see me because I have an appointment coming this monday..my first appointment.  The bleeding turned into brown spotting, then today it started again...bright red with clots.  Went back to the ER.  Did all the same tests.  This time when I got the results from the ultrasound apparently baby has grown to measuring 7w1d as opposed to 6w4d 2 days ago and the heartbeat is at 134.  They said that the small sch I had looked resolved.  I'm still very nervous about it.  But it has to be a good sign that baby is still growing good right?

  • I'm so sorry, that must have been terrifying. It's definitely a good sign that baby is growing at a healthy rate! I don't have personal experience with SCH, but I've seen many women on TB experience them and go on to have a healthy baby. Fingers crossed yours is resolved and your strong little one keeps growing!

  • No experience with SCH, but the growth and strong heartbeat does seem very reassuring! Are they having you come in again to monitor things?

  • FX for you!! The growth sounds like good news.
  • I will be seeing my ob on Monday.
  • Sounds positive. Fx crossed

  • This sounds so much like what I just went through! I bled last Sunday and really thought I was miscarrying, but it stopped (turned into brown spotting) and my blood draw yielded normal results for my length of pregnancy. Then I got an ultrasound and had a baby with a 113 heartbeat. I haven't had another one (and probably won't get one) to see growth and the other weird thing was that the baby was measuring behind, but I know that just happens sometimes. A heartbeat is huge so I'll take it. I haven't talked to the practice yet about the likely cause. They never mentioned SCH (though I heard of that on here), but did mention something about how when the placenta is formed there is bleeding between that and the uterus sometimes, and it happens at 5-7weeks, which made sense for where I was, and you too, apparently. Seems like you and I are both going to be just fine. I know you must have been through hell, though. I was not in a good state of mind for those 3 or so days!

  • This could totally be  TMI but it has a happy ending. Last time I was pregnant at 13 weeks I went to bed and woke up feeling like I wet myself. When I woke up I was covered in blood. Rushed to the ER and everything was fine. Baby was fine and I never bleed again during the pregnancy. Now I have a happy 15 month old =)

  • @ekw832001 I had some scary days myself. I was cramping all day on Wednesday and it got worse by the end of the day. The next morning I woke up cramping again and I noticed I was bleeding and I immediately thought that was the end of everything. Long story short I went to see my doctor that same day and he checked my cervix and said everything looked good and didn't see any concerns. He drew blood that day call me back the next day with the results and said that my HCG levels were good given where I am. The point I'm making is, just hang in there and hope for the best.
