  • How far along are you? EDD? 8w4d EDD of 4/30.

How are you feeling? Exhausted, and even more exhausted and more exhausted. Did I say I'm exhausted?

Any new baby-related developments? I had my first appointment today! Got to see the baby, its heartbeat and its brain (which is HUGE). So that definitely made it more real. It's measuring at 8w6d, giving it a due date of 4/28, but my Dr. said that we'd just keep with 4/30 for now. 2 days is no biggie at all.

GTKY: What is something regarding parenting that you have learned from your parents? Successes or failures. While I know the baby is going to be a major change to our lives, my mom has always said "the baby becomes a part of your life, do not completely change your life to revolve around it." While I know it sounds harsh, I understand what she's saying. My parents took me everywhere from a very, very young age and because of that, I had to know how to act in restaurants, on planes, etc. It was just expected that I'd behave. Both my husband and I agree that's how we'll raise our kids as well.

  • How far along are you? EDD? - 8w5d, 4/29/16

How are you feeling? - Ok. I was super nauseous Sunday through Tuesday. Yesterday I had a magical day; high energy and no nausea. I'm low energy today, but not much nausea. I'll take it!

Any new baby-related developments? - My mom has been sending me boy names (we already have our girl name down). And she said that she wants to take me shopping for nursery stuff soon (elephants!). And I started a registry. Its not complete, but a work in progress.

R/R/Q: Can I sleep all day? Seriously, I can never get enough sleep. I'm so ready for 2nd trimester to get here.

GTKY: What is something regarding parenting that you have learned from your parents? Successes or failures. A failure on my parent's end that I hope to learn from (and think I'm doing a decent job at now) is being more present with my kids in their activities. I played softball all my life, and towards the end (maybe because I was grown and could transport myself or by the school), my parents never came to any games. I make that constant effort to be present for my kids. And not just present, but involved. I'm that obnoxious baseball mom who claps, yells (not in a bad way), and cheers on the WHOLE team. I want to go on all the field trips. I want to know and invite over their friends.
