Re: Bumpie of the week 9.21 - ea301
What is your first name? Erin
When is your due date? 12/5 - same as my bro-in-law's birthday!
What part of the world are you from? Maryland, right between DC and Baltimore
What number baby/pregnancy is this for you? 1st pregnancy, 1st baby! I was off birth control for well over a year before the BFP so I was pretty surprised when this happened.
What is your occupation or dream occupation? Currently unemployed but studying to become a Realtor. I think that could end up being a dream occupation for me, maybe? Before I was unemployed, I did operations management and project management for a small tech company, and before that I was a technical writer. I like working alongside engineers.
Does your/will your nursery have a theme or color combination? The walls are kind of a light minty green, and we are adding lilac accents along with white and gray. The furniture will be white. My husband is pretty adamant that it has to be "fun" in some way, so we are doing decals of different colored animals on the walls.
Have you bought anything for baby yet? Yep, all of our nursery furniture and a few small nursery items are currently sitting in my living room waiting for their permanent home... which is currently my husband's office. I'm getting nervous about timing but I know that the baby doesn't REALLY need a nursery right away, so that helps calm me down a bit
If you have bought things, what is your favorite thing that you have gotten so far? As sad as this is, I think it's the crib skirt. It has both minty green and purple (and a little bit of pink) in it.
What is your favorite part of pregnancy so far? Being able to provide my husband with the daughter he has always wanted. I'm honestly nervous about becoming a mom, but I know he will be the best dad.
Do you have a favorite maternity/baby brand? Not really... I wear mostly Old Navy and Motherhood clothes myself, and don't have any baby stuff yet. PinkBlush Maternity has been hit or miss for me, but their clearance deals are pretty great.
One thing you will splurge on this pregnancy? This is a very long story, but I used a bunch of store credit to get a nice glider recliner. It's nice enough that it could be moved to another bedroom later, and the size is perfect.
What are your top pregnancy related priorities? Keeping this thing alive!! Trying to eat decently and not gain too much weight so that I can deliver a healthy baby in a couple short months.
What is your favorite book? I've read the Harry Potter series a couple of times... not sure if I can pick a favorite. I also really enjoyed The Help. I wish I had more time to read new stuff.
What is your favorite tv show? I watch an embarrassing amount of HGTV and DIY network... anything where people renovate their house is something I will watch. Renovation Realities is hilarious because they don't really know what they're doing half the time. My husband usually has to explain to me exactly what they're doing wrong, but I'm learning!
What is your favorite movie? I don't really have a favorite, but if I see these movies on TV, I will more than likely turn them on: My Cousin Vinny, Super Troopers, Office Space, Good Will Hunting
What is your favorite band/singer? I like a little bit of everything... mostly classic rock, country, r&b/rap, or pop radio. I'm old school and still listen to FM radio
Anything else you would like us to know? Hmmm, just that I am glad to be here and look forward to the next few months with everyone! I don't know how people did this whole pregnancy thing before the internet was around.
And agreed, how did people do this before the internet?
@slartybartfast WHAAAAT?! I'm with you on Neil Young's voice, it does get grating on the nerves. But the songs? "Needle and the Damage Done"? "Cinnamon Girl"? "OHIO"? Those are such classics!
Disclaimer: Yes, I know that music tastes are purely subjective.
@ea301 - I must agree with you on Neil Young. I'm kinda neutral with Katy Perry, although I don't really think of her as being an actual human being. Don't even get me started on Meghan Trainor.
