Re: Sunday Ticker Change (9/18)
What are you doing this week to prepare for your LO's arrival? Continuing to work on our house. We have to move out of our apartment by October 7th so... that's going to be interesting. I can't believe what a slow process laying flooring in a house is when you do it yourself.
Rants / Raves / Symptoms / Questions: Both a rant and a rave: I finally caved and bought new bras. So I was still wearing pre-pregnancy bras... and was spilling out of them so badly that my nipples on both sides were more than half-exposed. The lady at the maternity store measured me and told me I had gone from a 32B (I've actually always been a 30C but no one in the US acknowledges anything less than a 32 I've noticed) to a 32D, but that they didn't sell 32 band size so she tried instead to get me to try 34C. Of course, the 34C was super loose around the band on the tightest hooks and I was spilling out of the cups still, so I tell her that and she's like, "Well your ribcage will continue to expand further into the pregnancy..." and I'm like, "Sure, that might be a thing, but that's what those looser hooks are for, when that does happen... I don't want to buy an ill-fitting bra and besides, as I get closer to my due date, I'm sure I'm going to make the switch to nursing bras anyway since I'm guessing I'll go up to an even bigger cup size by then..." Leave there, drive over to Nordstrom, immediately find the bras I normally wear and try them in 30DD... perfect fit and immediate relief--I had no idea how much pain my chest was in until putting on a new, bigger bra.
When's your next appointment? September 30 for the 1-hour GTT. Excitement!
GTKY: What TV show are you binge watching (stolen from Friday) I'm finally catching up on Game of Thrones. I binged Seasons 1 and 2 during a blizzard in Iceland about 2 years ago and then stopped watching after that, so now I'm finally able to understand references people make little by little
I am 24 weeks! Yay viability!!!
What are you doing this week to prepare for your LO's arrival?
I cleaned out the room that will be his nursery
Rants / Raves / Symptoms / Questions:
So many feels! I have really been struggling today with just how much I feel like an alien in my own body. I cried about it. It's not necessarily that I am tired of being pregnant physically but I just wish I could feel like myself again. I always kind of imagined pregnancy as physically sharing a body but that's not it at all. Baby completely takes over physically and emotionally.
The one thing I am struggling with physically right now is I am just really weirded out by my boobs. They are enormous and feeling them on my belly just feels odd and gross and I hate how sensitive my nipples are. I am worried that when I try to nurse I won't like it and then not bond well with my baby. And they are only going to get bigger and that freaks me out. Like they are huge without any milk.
@canavara I am in the small band club. Pre pregnancy I was a 32DD but making due with a 34D to keep from spending $50 per bra. I feel like I have grown as much in my boobs as I have in my abdomen but my rib cage has not expanded much. Thankfully I am not experiencing any tenderness so I am still wearing underwire to keep them a little perky - A few weeks ago I bought a comfortable 36DD at TJ maxx and paid $5 to have the band altered down so $16 total but I'm starting to out grow of the cups now so I think I'm probably going to buy nursing bras too.

What are you doing this week to prepare for your LO's arrival?
We just cleaned the carpet in the nursery. The crib is scheduled to arrive on Tuesday.
Rants / Raves / Symptoms / Questions:
I have been suffering with pretty bad cramps this week. Typically after some type of physical activity- but nothing too strenuous. I feel like the only time I'm not uncomfortable is when I'm lying on my side.
When's your next appointment?
Tomorrow morning
GTKY: What TV show are you binge watching (stolen from Friday)
My husband needs the TV on to sleep (which wakes me up- so that's a fun disagreement to have all the time). Lately he's been watching either Parks and Rec or Archer. He falls asleep after an episode and I watch 2 or 3. We also are continuously being sucked into Law and Order marathons. I've lost entire weekends to that show.

What are you doing this week to prepare for your LO's arrival?
MIL painted the nursery yay! We are using my sister's dresser for baby girl. My sister passed away when she was 16 and before she passed away she was into writing her name everywhere..well she wrote her name on the dresser in a few places. I was so torn about painting the dresser for baby because I didn't want to cover her writing but the dresser is not in great shape to leave it unpainted. Well MIL took the dresser to her house to start redoing, she's really great at that kind of stuff. When she came back over she showed me that she took a photo of my sister's name and she is going to print the photo on paper that can be pasted into one of the drawers of the dresser...talk about waterworks.
Rants / Raves / Symptoms / Questions:
So much discharge...poor DH, I never want to have sex but it's just not a great feeling to have so much discharge and a big belly.
When's your next appointment?
Not until October 14.
GTKY: What TV show are you binge watching (stolen from Friday)
Gilmore Girls
21 weeks and starting to feel some regular movement at night.
What are you doing this week to prepare for your LO's arrival?

Rants / Raves / Symptoms / Questions:
I just need a place to put down all of the s**t that's happened the last few days. I was supposed to go home 2 days ago after 2 weeks in the US, but my mom got some really terrible news Thursday. She doesn't have health insurance and has been putting off pretty much all medical tests until this week when her leg hurt her too much to move. X ray basically indicated advanced stage cancer, we don't know what exactly yet, but we can't do further testing until we talk to a social worker about emergency health insurance. I extended my stay here a week to help as much as I can, but I feel so useless because what can someone possibly do to help in a week? She doesn't have a support system here, and I don't see how I can move back before baby is born. And in the background of all this, I did something to my right sacroiliac joint to the point where I'm limping, but I can't really get it looked at until I'm back home. My FIL who's a doctor tried injecting it with steroids but it didn't even make a dent in the pain. I just want to go hide in a corner for a few days.
When's your next appointment?

GTKY: What TV show are you binge watching (stolen from Friday)
Wrapping up Suits on Netflix, I'll need to switch over to amazon prime to watch the last season and then start on the current season.

Primed the baby's room. Had a few breakdowns in the process (I shouldn't have painted alone. I had tantrums like a toddler). Naturally, blamed it all on my husband who wasn't even home. Normal things. Luckily he can sense I'm in a major sensitive/hormonal/must do everything on our to do list ASAP mode before we move out next week when our home reno is really underway (he just calls them mood swings). I am very lucky to have him. I also bought a bunch of all of the classic baby books from someone on Craigslist this week. Very excited to read to LO.
I'm definitely starting to find myself needing to take breaks/I can't keep up with my normal pace (hence, my toddler tantrums). Obviously that's to be expected so close to the third trimester, but I feel like I have too much to do to slow down. @ceclarlinetlo I'm with you on the creeped out about the size of our boob thing. I've always had pretty small boobs and now they're (to me) out of control. I even try to hide from H when I change cause I'm so weirded out by them.
Sept. 29, just OB check. Maybe gestational diabetes screening? But they haven't given me a heads up about that yet.
I actually haven't turned on the TV/Netflix in a few weeks (I'm in shock typing this, because I love TV) because I've been doing so much baby prep and reading, but I'm almost always binge watching Gilmore Girls ever since it originally aired. I finished watching it for the 7th time (not even embarrassed about it) about a month ago.
@canavara I did the floors in our house 2 years ago and it was SUCH slow going at first and then all of a sudden I just flew through the second half because I'd had so much practice! Hopefully your OH gets into a groove like that!
@ceclarlinetlo I so feel you on the alien thing. My body is WEIRD and I'm trying to love this bump but o can't help but feel really strange about it some days. They're always moving (exacerbating my morning sickness) and I'm SO big and I'm hairy as a werewolf and just really looking forward to being able to run and wear my favorite clothes and not waddle again!
25 weeks! They're the size of prairie dogs and it feels like 2 prairie dogs popping around in there.
What are you doing this week to prepare for your LO's arrival?
Not much this week, work was rough. More hand me down laundry, I attended my first mom to mom sale (rolled up to the Lutheran church with Regulate on the radio LOL!) to check it out, and bought a couple of art pieces at my very favorite art fair
Rants / Raves / Symptoms / Questions:
Reeeefluuuuux!!! Curse you! Barf burps are so horrible when I'm already nauseated. My hips are KILLING me by mid day every day and my feet hurt too. Really worried about the next 3 months!
When's your next appointment?
a week from Wednesday, full growth scan. I'm a little nervous, babies were small last time (19 and 28th percentile) and I'm trying to up my calories and protein to make them bigger!
GTKY: What TV show are you binge watching (stolen from Friday)
Supernatural, still! Most of my shows have like 8-12 episodes per season and supernatural has 22!!!! Soooo many.
@moosette113, I'm so sorry, you are in my prayers. Please keep us updated!
What's new with your little babe this week? How far along are you?
Baby is at 25 weeks. I'm starting to notice a pattern of movement (usually around meal times, I get strong bumps and flips) and DH got to feel a good chunk of movement!
What are you doing this week to prepare for your LO's arrival?
Slowly clearing the 2nd bedroom. We're making a strategy for when we have our huge clean up weekend. We have too much stuff and not enough that we are willing to part with. Super stressful.
Rants / Raves / Symptoms / Questions:
I'm with the rant re: big boobs. I just bought bras the next size up 2 weeks ago and they're already too small. Thinking I need to bite the bullet and get something other than sports bras (which is all I ever wear to begin with, ugh)
When's your next appointment?
Wednesday! My MW does a group appointment, so there's 7 other expectant mothers and their partners who are due around the same time. We get all the basics checked and then have group discussions about what is going on in the pregnancy and what to expect next. I'm fairly certain I'll be signing up to do the dreaded glucose test. I am not looking forward to that. My general doctor had me do that test last fall when I had issues, and I threw up the drink within 15 minutes and nullified the test. Hopefully, they'll let me eat a Snickers bar for this one.
GTKY: What TV show are you binge watching (stolen from Friday)
We just finished America's Got Talent and Master Chef (had a few episodes to catch up on) and the only other show that's been on is Bering Sea Gold (DH loves gold mining stuff). We've been in limbo waiting for fall premiers because we've binged everything possible this summer. Thank goodness Gotham comes out tonight!! So stoked!

Children are like casseroles; it takes a lot to mess them up.
25 weeks! I finally finished out amazon registry on Sunday and "15 weeks to go" was right there at the top. For some reason, 15 weeks feels like a lot less than 16... I've been feeling baby since just before 21 weeks (other than a few very little flutters) -- H felt him the next day -- and am loving how much more active he is!
What are you doing this week to prepare for your LO's arrival?
My mom and I more or less outfitted baby for the first 9 months yesterday. I've been working out of state for the last 2.5 weeks and finally get to go home on Wednesday. I'm excited to get back and start working on the nursery.
ETA: H started a new wood turning project last night: a baby rattle!
Rants / Raves / Symptoms / Questions:
I'll be home with my sweet husband and silly cat in the coolest town ever in 2.5 days. That's all I can think about.
When's your next appointment?
This Thursday. It's technically my 24 week check up -- Had to be pushed back since I was gone.
GTKY: What TV show are you binge watching (stolen from Friday)
Oh, you know... we don't have a TV. We have a Netflix account but rarely use it -- mostly just for the occasional movie.
Lots of movement and kicks/ punches. 24w1d.

Registered for sprinkle. Started cleaning out the room that baby will be in.
