Ok. So I've had two chemical pregnancies. This month seemed like it was going to be my third but then the tests started getting darker and I started to feel hopeful. My doc ran bloodwork to see if my numbers were going up (got first draw last tuesday and second draw last Friday).

I got my results today and on Tuesday I was at 27 and Friday I was at 88. I was just happy that it had more than doubled but the doc said either it's super early or I'm going to have a miscarriage. I get to go for another draw this coming Friday but now I feel like I'm in limbo again. I hate this feeling.

UPDATE: My numbers are above 2000!! Looks like I get to stick around! Praying this baby stays comfy for the full 40 weeks and then is born happy and healthy

@vrj0522 I know! I asked why I couldn't just do it today and he said it wouldn't tell them anything. After some googling I *think* it's because numbers can be super low until around 6w and then they should shoot up so he wants me to be closer to 6 weeks?

I'm glad to hear that your number is at least doubling so there's definitely a lot of hope there! Just out of curiousity, did they also check your progesterone too? I have no idea if that's standard or not.

@pshaortao no they didn't get proges, I asked them to but he said it wasn't something they typically do?!

FX it's still super early! When did you test positive on a hpt? Also next time request that they test your progesterone and estrogen also.

Hopefully it's just on the early side and next week's numbers will be good. So sorry you have to be stuck in limbo during that time. Fingers crossed for you!

@chickyclg I know that low progesterone can cause a loss but what does checking estrogen do? Both my losses were super early and otherwise I haven't had bloodwork so I never know what to ask for or look for.

@sqfibemom estrogen is what helps your lining thicken, and the lining is what helps create the progesterone in your body (if I remember correctly) but estrogen and progesterone go hand in hand. Too little estrogen and your body can't create enough progesterone, too much estrogen and it can over power the progesterone.

I always have low estrogen and progesterone in early pregnancy so I have to supplement both.

I just got a call from my doctor, and my numbers aren't as high as they'd like either. At 3 wks, 5 days they were 104, then on 4 wks, 1 day, they were 256, but at 5wks, they were only 407. They haven't even doubled since last week. They said my progesterone was 16 at 5 weeks which is good, but they said my hcg is too low and they want me to come in for more blood work tomorrow morning. I'm really nervous, I had a miscarriage in May and I can't bare the thought of losing this baby too.
