Loss of symptoms

I am 10 weeks today and noticed a couple of days ago that my symptoms were subsiding.  Since I got my BFP I have not extreme symptoms.  I experienced bloating, exhaustion and random moments of nausea.  Anyone else have this experience and are you worried?  I called my Ob today and they said unless there is significant cramping or bleeding I shouldn'tbe too concerned....but that's impossible!  I have a scan in a couple weeks but I think I may lose my mind between now and then!

Re: Loss of symptoms

  • I had the same thing happen to me at around 8 weeks. Between 6-8 I was having extreme hunger, heartburn and indigestion, sore boobs and no nausea. Then I feel much better all of a sudden. I freaked out and called a nurse. They told me the same thing, unless you are bleeding or cramping we can see you. Longest few weeks for my next app ever, but everything was fine and now I'm 11 weeks. I hear it's common to have symptoms go up and down and improve as the 2nd trimester approaches.

  • I hardly had symptoms at all with my DD who's now almost three. So far this pregnancy other than being tired and the occasional nausea when I don't eat I don't have many symptoms either. I wouldn't worry. Consider yourself lucky to not be sick all the time. Try not to worry.

  • @ckegley80 I am 10w2d and I have also felt that my symptoms (especially nausea and fatigue) have subsided since early this week (so only for a few days). My OB told me and I've seen others post here that nausea tends to peak at 8-9 weeks and then - for some people - subsides a little bit, and overall I think that's the case for me and hopefully for you as well!

  • @ckegley80

I've read that also...that nausea peaks at 8-9 weeks.  This happened during my first pregnancy.  However, this time around I felt the symptoms much earlier.  Besides the fact that I missed my period, i started feeling nauseous and my boobs were starting to get a little sore.  I'm now 9 weeks and nausea is starting to fade and I'm actually feeling a little bit better than 2 weeks ago.  Try not to worry and remember not every pregnancy is by the book.
  • I lost the majority of my nausea and boob tenderness is totally gone. So I called my doc. Due to my history they asked me to come in. But baby is doing great! Looks good, moved its little head. I'm 8w4d and symptoms have been reduced since 7w5d or so. Maybe 7w6d. It's weird but I guess it isn't totally uncommon!
  • I am just shy of 8 weeks and my symptoms have been much less severe this week.  I just had an ultrasound today and everything was good.
  • 10 weeks today and my symptoms have decreased in the past few days. I'm still nauseous but not nearly as much as I was. I was throwing up multiple times a day, while now there are days I don't throw up at all.

It's so hard not to panic when symptoms subside. I know I do!! But I try not to worry as much as possible.
  • @ckegley80 that was me exactly during my last pregnancy.  Everything was fine.  The symptoms were always mild and came and went, especially near the end of first tri.  This time around, my symptoms are stronger, but still come and go.  There were a few days this week where I did not feel pregnant AT ALL.  Like, no symptoms, even tiny ones.  I was worried of course, especially since I'm in my 9th week and that is typically when symptoms peak.  I've had a few tiny twinges of RLP and a hormone headache from hell today, so I feel much better (ha!). For me, getting my doppler and listening to the heartbeat every few days (I started at 11 weeks last time) really helped to ease my mind.  I think your dr. is right - no scary symptoms is a good sign so hang in there!

  • I'm 10 weeks, and have been noticing I don't feel sick the last couple days, even though it always came and went. I have an appointment on Monday and I'm really hoping to hear the heartbeat for reassurance. Knowing my midwife, if she can't find it she'll send me for an ultrasound so it doesn't drive me crazy for weeks.

I've had the same thing lately. I've been extremely tired and nauseated lately, but woke up Thursday feeling great and actually hungry. It's freaked me out a bit, but I threw up the following day. It's going in small waves, a few days of feeling better and then I'll feel lousy. It's enough to keep you on your toes.
  • Why can't pregnancy just be black and white?  I haven't had any symptoms since Thursday.  But here I am only 7 weeks and many of you ladies are 10.  So I sit here saying to myself "well what if that is only normal because they are almost done with their 1st trimester, I'm only halfway there"  I never thought I would hope to throw up so I would feel sane.  I have no spotting and no cramping (except for weird stabbing pains yesterday that would only last for a second and come back a few minutes later) so I am trying to convince myself to be rational but I'm crazy.

  • @aboxofchocolates I feel you. But my symptoms were much reduced by 7w5d. The doctor said I could be "over the hump" already so it could be the same for you.
  • @Dax28 congratulations on your 11 weeks!!!

  • this was all so good to read! Thanks for posting, very helpful. I've had a lot of nausea and fatigue earlier and about week 8 it started to subside. I've felt great the last few days. 10 weeks tomorrow!
  • Just an update, my symptoms completely disappeared Friday and by Monday I threw up twice throughout the day.  I even called the doctor before I got sick and they told me that I shouldn't worry if I don't cramp or have bleeding.  And that they couldn't get me in anyways.  So reassuring right? I feel less scared now so thats good but why do they always ask if you are cramping?  I always have weird things going on down there that I would consider cramps

I was wondering about that too. For the first few weeks I felt like I had full on time of the month cramps. Now the cramping feels more like I'm about to get my period in a few days. Everything looked great in the US, so I'm trying not to be worried. Anyone else feeling crampy?

Edit - can we not delete these? I figured I would post this in symptoms instead.

  • My symptoms have come and gone the last week.. Friday and Saturday I felt totally normal.. Sunday - today I haven't been off my couch other than to throw up or pee!

  • They've asked me about cramping too, and I'm like, well yeah. There's a lot going on down there! But I've had a MC and I know the difference between those cramps and the cramps I'm having this time. I'm sure you all who are cramping are feeling the good cramps like I've got too. You'd know if it was MC. So doctors really ought to clarify and explain the cramps better when they ask that I think.
  • So I thought I'd chime in and say I almost totally lost my symptoms last week at 10 weeks, but according to a strong heartbeat today, little donut hole is alive and well in there. So I guess in my case I really was just in the downhill slide to the 2nd tri.
  • I've been feeling the same way the last day or two.  I'm 9+1 and today was the first day in a few weeks that I didn't throw up and hardly had any nausea all day.  It freaks me out because I was really sick with with my first two pregnancies.  Although, I know that right around this time is when the hormones start to level out.  I had my u/s last week and the baby looked great.  I see the midwife next Friday so we shall see.

  • With my first the symptoms would come and go and this time seems like the same thing. My hormones were extremely high at the beginning and I was nauseous all the time, lots of headaches too. Now the are leveling out and I feel better. My boobs still hurt but after nursing for 14 mo. It doesn't bother me as much as it did the first time around. Last time I think around wk 10-12 my boobs stopped hurting. Rejoice!!!

I agree with docs and previous posters. No cramping and no bleeding equals no worry. The hormones are what make you sick, not having a healthy live baby. You would have more that just a lack of symptoms if your home ones were dropping drastically. I bet your body just figured out how to cope with them. Congrats.

    @JessWannaEatEverything

Everything is stretching out. Cramps are fine. Sever eve cramps that make you double over or feel like you need meds are not fine.
