  • My 30 week is tomorrow, the first of my every 2 week appointments. Sometimes I don't think I feel him move as much but then I'll feel him later so I've debating what to bring up or not

  • No OB this week but I have a follow up appointment with my surgeon that took out my appendix tomorrow! Then I should know by Friday whether or not I need to go back to work next week. I'm really hoping I don't given I still don't feel up to it.
  • Have my 3 hour glucose test Thursday. Barf.
  • I've got my regular 30 week appt tomorrow.

  • I go in today for my high risk pre ecclampsia twice weekly visit...Super nervous since they already told me I'm on the cusp of getting admitted to the hospital. Wondering if I need to pack a bag now :-P

When in doubt, bring it up. Our intuition is more valuable than we often credit it.

  • We have a scan on Friday at the MFM's office as the hopefully last follow-up on Zika concerns.  Hoping for a Norma head size!  Hell, I'd also take slightly on the big side even if that does bring ouch-y thoughts!

I thought I wasn't nervous at all, and that's still true compared to the anatomy scan, but I'm getting more nervous as the day approachesZ

  • @mrsdho11 were you in an area with Zika concerns?
  • @kvruns - nope, but H was in an active Zika zone right before we conceived and at the time they said we were fine to continue TTC right away, but that recommendation has since changed.

  • Had my appointment this morning - I much prefer morning appointments because they are so much quicker, no 30 min wait! Saw the 5th of 6 Dr's, I liked him, really I've only not liked 1 so that was good. Basically said everything was good and next time I dont feel a ton of movement just eat/drink and lay down - the days I didn't feel it a lot I was on the go so didn't have a chance to do that and he said that's probably all it was (which I figured).
  • Had my regular OB apt yesterday, confirmed I passed GD tests. She got bloodwork results from my temporary high-risk OB, thyroid is totally normal, but hemoglobin is a bit low, so she wrote a Rx for iron pills. Maybe this will help with the fast heart rate and shortness of breath, but she didn't want to promise me that. I meet with the heart doc Thursday to go over results for the ECG and holter test.

Baby is measuring exactly 29 weeks now (was always a week ahead but I guess now on par), head was down! Can't believe they are checking for that now, but it's a relief, as my SIL had a Frank Breech baby who had to wear a pavlik harness for a couple of months from being breech for so long.

  • @PrettyPalomino - yay for head down!  Position was actually listed on my A/S results, which I found surprising since it is definitely still changing that early!  I too thought they didn't start checking that until like 34 or 35 weeks.  Odd.  But yay for head down!
@kvruns - yes to morning appointments being quick!  The office I'm going to for my scan on Friday also closes for lunch.  So the right after lunch appointments are also usually on time and fast!

  • @mrsdho11 I asked my Dr today about position, just curiosity more than anything. He said they will start checking at 36 weeks because before then it can still be moving and changing although 75% are headdown by this point (30 weeks).
  • Had my 32 week yesterday, and Ultrasound because I'm measuring at 34 weeks (I also was measuring ahead with my first) U/S revealed baby is BREECH!. Dr. mentioned he could try to turn baby if he doesn't turn on his own, but i know that's dangerous and could lead to emergency C section... or we could do scheduled c section.

Any ladies have both a vaginal delivery and C Section???  I've only had Vaginal - tell me about your C!!
  • I was supposed to have an appt today, but they called this morning to cancel because the nurse practitioner has a family emergency.  I am waiting to hear back from my doc if we can just skip this one and I'll see her in 2 weeks.  They always seem surprised that I can't just drop everything and go in a different day.  I have work and kids.

I did mine yesterday, I'll be honest that it was wretched. But I also had a terrible phlebotomist who left giant bruises all over my arm. It was so bad they had to switch arms for th last two sticks.
  • Had my 32 week appointment this morning. Dr is concerned because I've already gained 55 lbs and it seems to be mostly in my bump, which is measuring 5 cm ahead (37 weeks instead of 32). I might have to go in for an ultrasound to see if baby is growing to be super huge. The unexplained weight gain has plagued me this whole pregnancy — I eat very healthy (no fast food or soda ever, hardly any junk food, and limited sweets) and am very active with my toddler. I still feel like I'm in pretty good shape; we walk a lot and I am constantly up and down the stairs in our house. Last week we went on a trail hike with a group of other mom's and their toddlers and I kept getting comments about how I was kicking their butts. So I really feel like the weight gain is not a result of me not being active enough or eating poorly. It's just frustrating. Does anyone have any experience with this? Or know what could cause fundal height to measure so far ahead?
  • @mrsmoose5  Placentas suck.

I hate that too! Both my OB and high risk dr don't take appointments after 2:30 and don't open until after 8. These weekly appointments at both make me stressed out
  • I had an appointment this morning. I'm 32 weeks and 5 days. It was the first appointment that I didn't leave upset in months. She keeps assuming I'm going to get pre eclampsia... Which I am thankful she has put the idea in my head so I'm not super surprised if it happens... But she's brought it up at every appointment and bed rest too.

This morning she went over my last 24 hour urine collection and said my numbers were really good... So that was nice to hear.
  • At my appointment this morning at 30+1 I got my flu shot. I did the GTT, Rhogam, and TDAP at 27 weeks. Thank goodness I didn't have to go into work today because I was able to take a glorious nap this afternoon - flu shot related or just general pregnancy related sleepiness, I don't know. This was the last appointment with my OBGYN - now I start rotating to meet the other practitioners in her office.

I also had a lunch appointment/meet and greet today with a pediatrician. From what I had heard, I thought I'd really like this place, but people there seemed unenthusiastic. It also felt like the one I went to as a kid 20 years ago with minimal modernization. The wait was a bit long for me, and there were no toys - only a book shelf not right where kids wait. I hope that's not all pediatrician's offices! Time to schedule a meet and greet somewhere else to compare. (Maybe people are just generally happier at OBGYN offices since that's the only kind of doctor I've seen in a long time?)
