Question: Okay ladies, I have a question. I haven't been able to put my baby boy down without him crying uncontrollably. Last night the hospital staff took him out for vitals and he came back sleeping so I got some sleep. But tonight, I've tried soothing, feeding, changing diaper, everything I can think of but all he wants to be with is me. We had a temperature scare tonight so I'm snuggling him close. Tried to put him down and he just screamed out crying. I have him on my chest (his absolute fav right now) and he's sound asleep and happy. Can I just take a two hour nap like this? I NEED sleep, but he just won't go down. I also had a c section so it's extremely painful and difficult to keep getting up and trying. Any help appreciated! I'll be checking back in tonight unless I fall asleep with him on me like this...... No judgement please. It's been a really rough road I've been in the hospital since Monday at 1 pm.
I'm sorry. I was in the hospital for 4 days. It got really annoying after day 1 was over. I did have baby sleep on my chest too. Wondering if she liked hearing my heartbeat since she was recently kicked out of her comfy place inside my belly.
Birth is exhausting and a c-section is a big surgery to recover from. Do what works for you guys
Brielle wouldn't be put down at night. I also had a c section so the constant up and down was too painful and DH was back to work after the first night. I rigged a little set up that I knew she would stay safe with and wouldn't fall out of bed while dozing.
I often slept with DD on my chest. Like @jensou said, he was just kicked out of the only place he was familiar with, and the sound of your heartbeat and your smell is his big comfort. Your sleep is important too! Recovering from a c-section is no joke!

I'm with @CoffeeBeanFiend91 even though I haven't had my baby yet or know how exhausted/ in pain you must be ! Sleep is definitely important and you need to get some rest to maintain but I feel like I would have to ensure in some form or fashion that he wasn't able to move much before I could rest. Maybe you can try to find a way to do that that would also help with your peace of mind and so you can rest as best as possible ! Good luck !
This was me last week (csection and everything). I basically angled the bed so that I was fairly reclined and then built a fort of pillows around me and put the baby on my chest. Make sure you have enough pillows for your elbows to be resting on something and not floating. That's the only way we got any sleep. Do you have friends or family that can come hold him in the daytime so you can sleep then as well? See if they can wear lower cut shirts so that baby gets some skin to skin. Is someone staying with you overnight? Have baby do skin to skin with them as well. Sleep is important. For both of you so do what you can to get it
