Deloitte now offers 16 weeks paid "care" leave

This is great news...but also slightly depressing. Deloitte now offers 16 weeks paid "care" leave that covers maternity/paternity leave as well as caring for family members (elderly, etc.). This is a great step that I hope lots of other organizations take. I'm only depressed about it because they are a competitor of the organization I work for, where I get to use STD to cover part of my leave, PTO to cover what's left, and take leave without pay to cover the rest. Sigh. It's too late to try to get a position with them now!

I know we've talked about the stupidity of American maternity leave policies on here before. Lets all just cross our fingers (for those of you who will continuing building your families after these sweet December LOs arrive) that this becomes a trend (or the government passes some more family-centric leave policies).

@mrsmerc2015. My company was recently acquired by a much larger company with a much better parental leave plan (20 weeks vs 12 weeks), but apparently we are keeping our benefits separate post-acquisition. I wish I could take advantage of our new parent company's plans!
