28 weeks! 3rd trimester!

What size is baby?

An eggplant, a Nintendo, a 1lbs basket of wings (yum!)

Upcoming appointments?

I had my 28 week appointment yesterday and everything looks great!

Rants/Raves/Questions?

Rave: I finally look pregnant! I think I might even make my first HDBD post today and I think its about time to order some maternity tops :-)
Rave: My glider arrived yesterday! Now I just need to get all the boxes out of the nursery and get the room painted.

Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions?

I've been averse to most veggies for this whole pregnancy!

GTKY: What's your favorite zoo animal?
I love pandas! I could sit outside of panda exhibits all day. I also love penguins and used to love manning that exhibit back in the day when I worked at the Sea World in Ohio (yes, there was a sea world in Ohio!).

How many weeks? 28 - 3rd trimester! Whoa!

What size is baby? Eggplant

Upcoming appointments? Just had an appointment on Monday, so I think I have one more month until my next one, and then the twice a month until the birth.

Rants/Raves/Questions? The kid moves ALL THE TIME. Especially at night. I think he was moving for two hours straight yesterday evening.

Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? Coconut. I just bought a ton of coconut yogurt and popsicles. Weird.

GTKY: What's your favorite zoo animal? I was at the Hamburg Zoo last month, and it was the coolest thing. The elephants were separated from the people by a pretty narrow moat, and so they were able to reach across the moat to take food from us. They were like dogs in that they kept looking at you and begging for food, it was the cutest thing. I had never been that close to zoo animals before, it was pretty neat. I also like penguins. Haha.

Upcoming appointments? Just had my 28 week appt today. Drank the stuff for the glucose test. Thankfully my appts are boring and quick because everything looks good with baby and me. As of today I start every 2 week appointments, then weekly at 36 weeks so I made all of mine out til week 39. The gal at the scheduling desk asked if I wanted to make one for after my due date "in case you go over" and I declined. I didn't go past my due date with my other two babies so I'm really hoping it doesn't happen this time since this has been my most miserable pregnancy!

Rants/Raves/Questions? Rant: my kindergartener is coming home with germs already. She gave me a cold and I've used an entire box of Kleenex in under 24 hours. Ugh!

Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? Still not loving veggies although I force myself to eat them regularly. Been craving sweets lately which is not ideal since I have already gained 22 pounds. But I also like to comfort eat and since I feel pretty crappy a lot (tired, back and hip pain, etc) I tend to want sweets to cheer myself up. I keep reminding myself that baby needs fruits and veggies more than Ben and Jerry's but sometimes I just cave.

GTKY: What's your favorite zoo animal?
We were just at the zoo on Monday! I like the giraffes and elephants the best. They seem to walk around and do more than some of the other animals. I'm not a huge animal person so the ones that are more lively are more interesting to me.

I am part of the...*ahem....slackers* from Tuesday.

How many weeks? 28W (1day), 3rd trimester too!

What size is baby? Eggplant, coconut, rollerblade

Upcoming appointments? next week I have my 28-29 week appt., will get the Tdap and flu shots. Passed the GTT (had to do the 3 hr one) a few weeks ago.

Rants/Raves/Questions? I am having a really tough time sleeping through the night, my belly gets really tight and bothersome. Also, I threw up this morning while I was brushing my teeth...hadn't done that since week 9. My gag reflexes are super sensitive.
I am still loving the movement/kicks/flutters/pushes from baby!

Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? See above: trouble sleeping, belly tight, fatigue, some leg cramps.
No weird cravings, just sweets every once in a while.
Aversion just to my toothbrush on my tongue (see above)

GTKY: What's your favorite zoo animal?
I looove elephants and giraffes, baby's room is safari theme predominantly with elephants!

What size is baby? kale, a Double Gulp

Upcoming appointments? Just had one on Monday, pretty quick since everything looks good! Next appt is in a few weeks for the glucose test.

Rants/Raves/Questions? The beginning of the school year is always tiring, but I'm really out of it this year! I haven't been Bumping at all in the past few weeks because I pretty much come home, put my feet up, eat dinner and fall asleep. Hopefully things settle down soon!

Enjoying feeling this little guy move around a lot more! Although he has found my bladder a few times and that is not very fun, especially while I'm driving.

Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? Smelling the toothpaste on DH's breath after he brushes is the worst. I can brush my teeth but he must use a lot more toothpaste than I do and that mint smell is so overwhelming.

GTKY: What's your favorite zoo animal? I love pandas and the Galapagos tortoises. Large, slow, kind of lazy animals are my thing I guess.

Upcoming appointments? had a heartbeat check today and met the other doctor in the practice (since there is a chance he could be the one on the big day!)
Passed my glucose test, which was wonderful news!

Rants/Raves/Questions? just ranting from my hips hurting when I sleep, which leads to a lack of sleep. Blehhh

Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? had a Braxton hicks contraction today. That was weird! Cravings include chocolate and pop tarts. Oh and fruit! Lots and lots of fruit!

GTKY: What's your favorite zoo animal? love the river otters, they are so playful and hyperactive, I love it!

What size is baby? Kale or butternut squash

Upcoming appointments? Phone appointment today to discuss options for heartburn/reflux. The OTCS aren't working well anymore and I'm sick of having heartburn!

Rants/Raves/Questions? Teaching 13-16 year Olds all day is exhausting. I'm finding I'm teaching from my stool a lot because walking around the room 4 hours straight and then again for a 5th hour wears me out.

Another rant: I have to take the 3hr glucose test Saturday. Not overly thrilled but fingers crossed I pass!

Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions?
Sweets but since failing the 1hr I've cut back. Also mangos, lots and lots of mangos.

GTKY: What's your favorite zoo animal?
The elephants. I just love them!

Appt yesterday and I'm still pissed about it
not sleeping, calf cramps, hard to breathe, super moody. Still want all the sugar but am avoiding it now.
I love the cheetahs and leopards and otters

Upcoming appointments?
30 week check for placenta praevia (it was low-lying at 20 weeks, so they wanted me to come back at 30 to see if it's moved (80% of the time it does on its own).

Rants/Raves/Questions?
Quarter end in a sales role plus the third trimester are a recipe for stress. And if I hear one more person guilting me about working out more (I already do yoga and pilates twice a week, in addition to light cardio) I am going to scream.

Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions?
Occasional Braxton Hicks and lots of trouble sleeping the last few weeks - it's hard to get comfortable and every time I do, I have to pee! Been craving cake, but my first glucose screening was slightly high so I'm trying to avoid refined sugar (passed the second test with flying colors). Aversions include pickled things, raw onions and oddly, ice cream.

GTKY: What's your favorite zoo animal?
Penguins! Because they're always dressed up for a fancy party.
