4 weeks and whole body hurts

I know backaches and mild cramping are common, but I'm 4 weeks and feel like I've been hit by a truck. My entire body hurts, my arms, my legs, my back, my neck, my butt. I also feel beyond exhausted. I'm worried I might be getting sick, but would definitely prefer if these were just normal pregnancy pains. Anyone else have their whole body hurt at 4 weeks?

  • Sometimes early pregnancy feels like the flu

  • Yep, I've been getting an achy back on and off for the last week. Where it feels like flu pains. Exhaustion is completely normal, I'm pretty sure I could nap anywhere anytime. Since I can't I just go to bed early and my housework doesn't get done.
  • Now I have a fever of 100.5.
  • That sounds more like sickness. Feel better soon!

Aw that sucks! But that was my initial thought -- you are probably actually getting sick. Granted a milder version of what you describe is quite common for first trimester.

You should ask your doctor of course, but I recommend you take something to keep the fever down below 100. A fever at this time in the pregnancy can be very dangerous. I got the flu from 4-5 weeks when pregnant with my daughter and I was told to keep the fever down to the best of my ability. It was bad and got above 100 even when medicated (and everything turned out ok), but this is a bad time to have a high fever so just beware and don't be afraid to take meds (after asking your doctor).

  • I took some Tylenol right away, and now I'm drinking ice water and resisting the urge to bury myself under blankets. I have an appointment with my doctor at 2 today. It's still right around 100.5, hopefully it goes down soon. I'm worried about the baby. I had a miscarriage in May and don't want a fever to lead to another one.
  • Sounds like the flu to me. You don't need to worry about a low grade fever unless it doesn't go away after 48 hrs. I hope you feel better and that your appt goes well!

  • Week four my body felt like I had just finished a full body workout. Especially in my legs and butt, also lower back ache. My doctor said it was normal
