  • @Rachnan Yes, my insurance covers ultrasounds at Kaiser, but my RE isn't affiliated with Kaiser. When we first started trying I tried to go through Kaiser, but they don't do any infertility coverage, so I got referrals to outside clinics, which is where I've been going for the last two years. Nothing with them is covered. Kaiser isn't like a typical insurance where you pick a place that accepts it. You go to a Kaiser hospital only (unless it's a 911 ambulance trip).

Hey all. I saw a psychiatrist this week and started a new medication for my depression. It's actually a B9 supplement which I like because it should have fewer side effects than a traditional medication.  I've been on it for two days, and I'm starting to feel better. I also had my 2nd to last ultrasound with RE and baby is doing well. He's growing well, moving around, and had a strong heart beat.  Next week is my last appointment. I don't know what I'm going to do.

  • @AandDM2014 that makes sense!

has anyone been kept on progesterone past 10 weeks? I was released by my RE today, but they didn't like my progesterone levels and want me to stay on 2 crinone a day for another week and then retest. I'm so frustrated! It runs almost $400/week and is gross...

  • @rachnan I stopped pio at 9 weeks but am on crinone till week 12. Any chance you're in NJ? My sister has a box she doesn't need any more and I'm going to have a few leftover as well.
  • @Rachnan Yeah, I think it can be standard to stay on longer depending on your blood work. I'm thankful my progesterone isn't anywhere near that much!

@cmm012 I hope that you feel better soon and trust your body to do what it needs to to support your pregnancy!

  • @rachnan During my first pregnancy, I was on PIO until 10 weeks and then crinone until 12. I agree - crinone is so gross! But I think that your doc's recommendation is pretty normal. This time around, I am on PIO until 9 weeks and suppositories until 12.

  • @cmm012 Do you have an OB lined up or are you still looking for one?

@Rachnan I was weaned to half doses of all my meds for a week, then stopped at the end of the 11th week (10w6d).

@rachnan and @ale9687 I donated all of my extras to my RE office for other couples who have to pay out of pocket for almost everything like we did.

  • i don't think i've posted at all this week. i've been so sick and not eating i just haven't had any energy. i'm hoping that will change this week. i honestly cannot wait till i can eat a normal meal again, i think it's been about two weeks of not being able to eat much. i'm trying to focus on the positives, me being pregnant at all, but i can't help wishing this stage away.
we have our us tomorrow which we're both so excited about, i'm a little nervous as it's the first one we've had but all signs, sickness included, point to a healthy baby.

i hope everyone has had a good week!

  • I hope your appointment tomorrow goes well @teriulbricht! And I hope your symptoms ease up soon. I bet you could ask your RE to prescribe you some anti-nausea meds if it's affecting your life so badly.

@ConstanceGoodspeed how far along are you? When did you start using the doppler? I want one, but had friends tell me it was useless before 13 or 14 weeks.

@halips With my first two pregnancies I was able to find the heartbeat at 10 weeks (with a lot of patience!). Easy peasy to find by 13 or 14 weeks.
    IVF/ICSI #1 - BFP, DS born Jan 2013
    IVF/ICSI #2 - BFP, DD born Feb 2015
IVF FET - BFP, due April 2017

  • @halips I don't have a Doppler but at my 10w1d ob apt the dr was able to pick up the h/b. It took a bit of searching for it and it was nerve racking but if you can stay calm while having to search you may be able to find it.
  • @AandDM2014 Congrats on the major milestone of graduating from RE!

@teriulbricht I'm sorry your MS is so bad. At almost 13 weeks I am still feeling sick about half the time and if I could go back in time I'd get the anti-nausea prescription just to see if and how it helps. What did your doctor say today?
