PGAL Check In (9/14)

This is for all our May moms who have experienced a loss - we are here to support one another!

1. Introduce yourself if you haven't yet

2. How far along are you?

3. How are you doing? What is the next milestone you're looking forward to? Are you doing anything different this pregnancy?

4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:

5. GTKY: If you could travel for a month for free where would you go?

Re: PGAL Check In (9/14)

  • 1. Hi, I'm Lesley. I have a 9 year old son. In 2015 had 1 very early mc at 5 weeks and a termination of pregnancy at 20 weeks due to a lethal form of skeletal dysplasia (no judgements or harsh comments please it was the absolute hardest decision of my life and only chose that route because we believed it would be easier for my son then to go to term and have the baby die within hours of birth).

    2. Each day I thank god that my bean survived another day in my belly, 7w2d

    3. We are not telling anyone until after the first trimester screening, of course hearing the heartbeat will be a huge relief but we want to be sure that the baby is healthy and growing correctly before sharing our joy.

    4.... I got nothing

    5. Beaches, take me to ALL of the them, I would love to hit all of the beaches on the east coast (hatteras is my absolute favorite place in world)

    1. Introduce yourself if you haven't yet: I had a mc this past March at what should have been 10 weeks. So this is pregnancy #2 and really hoping it sticks!

    2. How far along are you?: 5 weeks today. Although that may change after the first appt.

    3. How are you doing? What is the next milestone you're looking forward to? Are you doing anything different this pregnancy?: I'm doing ok so far. I feel like I'm having more symptoms this time around, so I'm hoping that's a good sign. It's keeping me from getting too anxious yet anyway. The next milestone will be the first u/s, although I really won't feel better until after the 10 week mark. We heard a heartbeat last time at 6 weeks so while that will be amazing, it won't put my mind at ease just yet. I'm not doing too many things differently other than not letting myself get too exhausted. I'm going a little easier at my workouts and listening to my body more.

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I don't remember the bloating starting this early last time, but oh man. Not fun.

    5. GTKY: If you could travel for a month for free where would you go? Europe and Scandinavia for sure. It's just so easy to country hop over there and see so much in such a short amount of time!

    2. How far along are you? 4+5

    3. How are you doing? I'm doing ok! What is the next milestone you're looking forward to? My miscarriage happened the day I was supposed to have my first ultrasound, so I'm really looking forward to making it that far this time. Are you doing anything different this pregnancy? I'm going to cut out my occasional green tea and diet Pepsi this time. I know in my head that the tiny bit of caffeine I was consuming last time did not contribute to my m/c, but I don't want there to be any what-ifs.

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Wednesdays are my only day of the week I can sleep in and I woke up at 5:30 this morning

    5. GTKY: Portugal, Spain, France, and Italy. I'd basically just follow the Mediterranean. It's something I've always wanted to do.

  • 1. Hi, I'm Moshi. I had a loss at 7 wks 4 days in February.

    2. How far along are you? Around 5 weeks. My cycles have been irregular since my last loss and I wasn't charting because I needed a break. I'll have an ultrasound next week to hopefully determine a due date.

    3. How are you doing? What is the next milestone you're looking forward to? Are you doing anything different this pregnancy? I'm doing okay. I am getting a blood draw today so I'm looking forward to getting my numbers back and looking forward to my ultrasound next week. I never got to hear a heartbeat with our last loss because it happened the day before our appointment, so I'd like to hear it this time. I don't think I'm doing anything too different, aside from trying not to get too excited until I get further into it.

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I've had more symptoms this time, which is both a good thing and an irritating thing.

    5. GTKY: If you could travel for a month for free where would you go? Definitely Europe.
  • 2. I think 6 weeks as of tomorrow

    3. I have my next ultrasound tomorrow! The last one was 2 weeks ago and they determined I was 4 weeks then. My betas from last week were good (they didn't tell me the #'s so I can't obsess over them). I've been feeling very calm and patient waiting for this next ultrasound...until today. I can't wait til tomorrow.

    4. I'm so bloated I almost can't button my pants!

    5. Australia. I've never really had much of an interest in going but DH is from there and I've never gone back with him. It would be nice to meet his family out there.

@lesleycutee no judgement here. We TFMR (terminated for medical reasons) @23 weeks 7 months ago. Our daughter had Full Trisomy 18 and wouldn't have survived outside the womb. If you ever want to talk let me know.
  • 2. 7+2 today

    3. My 1st appointment is a week today. Followed by harmony testing and ultrasound hopefully. Countdown is on.

    4. Feels like stomach upset is starting to appear today. My first real symptom.

    5. All over Europe

    1. Introduce yourself if you haven't yet
Im April. Ive posted on pregnancy after a loss but decided to join my birth month this time too. Ive had 3 miscarriages over the last 2 years. Have found I have a blood clotting disorder Factor ii. And am on daily lovenox injections along with progesterone, baby aspirin, and prenatal. Hoping this works!!

    2. How far along are you? 5w2d

    3. How are you doing? What is the next milestone you're looking forward to? Are you doing anything different this pregnancy?
Im doing good considering the amount of nervousness and anxiety as expected. I feel productive this time since I give myself a shot everyday. It sucks physically but I look forward to it every day. I feel like I'm doing something and not just waiting. Looking forward to monday. My first ultrasound ill be 6w.

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:
Just grateful for an answer finally and to be moving forward

    5. GTKY: If you could travel for a month for free where would you go?
Sandals resort somewhere in the Caribbean, and Hawaii, and Vegas.. love vegas
  • 2. How far along are you? 5 weeks today.

    3. How are you doing? What is the next milestone you're looking forward to? Are you doing anything different this pregnancy? I was doing fine until today. I was super bloated and either I've gotten used to it or it's gone away and that is creeping me out. I still have sore boobs but I never have morning sickness so I don't have much to go on. I am struggling to stay positive today. I'm relaxing more this time and actually napping when I'm tired. My u/s is scheduled for 2 weeks from now.

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I hate the waiting game. I need some reassurance that everything is ok, but even having hcg taken is not calming me.

    5. GTKY: If you could travel for a month for free where would you go? I've only been on a plane once and other than that I've only been to a few states around me... so i'd probably do a road trip and see some of the cool stuff around the US.
  • 2. 5w2d

    3.  I'm ok.  I'm making sure to take my prenatals every single night. I forgot to start taking them when we tried before my MC in July and, even though I know that likely didn't cause my MC, is the only thing I can think to do differently this time.  I'm looking forward to my first appt late next week.

    4.  I never had MS with my first 2 pregnancies.  With this one, I feel nauseous and a little "blah" right around dinner time every night.  I'll take it if it keeps reminding me that I'm still pregnant each day.

    5. Europe.  I've never been and there's so much I want to explore over there.

  • 1. Introduce yourself if you haven't yet I'm Chickyclg, I had 2 losses before our successful FET cycle with my twins in 2015 and a loss after a surprise BFP this year that following a failed FET.  I have MTHFR and APS so I am going to be seeing my hematologist a lot again this pregnancy.

    2. How far along are you? I am thinking 4wks 4days U/S is tomorrow to confirm

    3. How are you doing? What is the next milestone you're looking forward to? Are you doing anything different this pregnancy? I am currently hoping to see the heart beat after that 12 weeks will be our goal.  Like my last pregnancy I am on too many drugs lol.  Lovenox, baby aspirin, estrace, endometrium, folgard, synthroid, and of course the typical PNV

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:  I am feeling exhausted which I love because i am starting to "feel" pregnant

    5. GTKY: If you could travel for a month for free where would you go? St Croix.

  • 2. Based on ovulation, 4+5

    3. Im okay. Fatigue has started to kick in and the bloat is unreal so no more buttoned pants or fitted shirts for me. Symptoms are stronger this time and while I know that could change anytime it's a little reassuring. I'm also drinking more water daily which I didn't do prior to my CP.

    4. I finally got an appointment as a new patient because I really would like to get bloodwork done to make sure everything is progressing okay. The downside is it's not until Im 5+6. My CP had ended on 5+5. So great... I just need to get to that point. I do hope for an u/s!

    5. New Zealand, Thailand and more around there. With a full time nanny ha.

  • 1. How far along are you? 7w3d

    2. How are you doing? What is the next milestone you're looking forward to? Are you doing anything different this pregnancy?
I'm okay, stressing a little. My nausea went away this morning and that always makes me nervous because that's what happened with my mmc. I'm trying not to worry too much because I've had a couple other days when the same thing happened and the nausea still came back. I've passed my other loss dates so next up is my u/s next Monday.

    3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I'm so sad about the goodbyes today and from the last couple of days!

    4. GTKY: If you could travel for a month for free where would you go? Europe. DH and I were planning a trip to Italy/Spain/Germany/Czech Republic/Austria a few years ago that we had to postpone. I would still LOVE to make that trip.

    2. How far along are you? 6w6d

    3. How are you doing? What is the next milestone you're looking forward to? Are you doing anything different this pregnancy? I was doing ok until I read the several posts about loss today. I'm looking forward to next Tuesday. It will be my first appointment and I will get and u/s too. I'm not really doing anything different this time.

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I was so proud of myself this morning. I woke up on time, wore a dress, and curled my hair for work. That's a huge accomplishment lately.

edit: 5. I'd travel to Mexico. I grew up visiting Mexico once per year of Christmas break. However, now with adult responsibilities and not so much vacation, I haven't been able to go as often. It's been 4 years since I last went.

    11.2011 - DS1

    02.2013 - loss at 6 wks

    06.2014 - DS2

    10.2015 - loss at 12 wks

    03.2017 - DD

  • Have already introduced myself, but will briefly again: DH & I are 26 yr olds ttc for over 2 yrs, w/ 2 losses.

I am 6w6d. I'm feeling optimistic, although I do have my moments where I feel like I'm doomed. BUT my u/s yesterday helped so much. I know we're no where near out of the woods yet, but my baby had a heartbeat, which I've never had happen to me before, 112, and measured 6w4d (this was yesterday when I was 6w5d). So I'm feeling pretty good right now.

This is the first pregnancy where I'm spending hundreds of dollars to take progesterone & being closely monitored w/ frequent tests.

I'm super sad about all the goodbyes this week!!

If I could travel anywhere for a month for free, I would go to the Northwest U.S. (N Cali, Washington, & Oregon).
  • 1. Introduce yourself if you haven't yet. I'm cclaine, and I lost my first pregnancy on valentine's day at 5 wks after trying for 6 months. This pregnancy is my first since then.

    2. How far along are you? 6 wks

    3. How are you doing? What is the next milestone you're looking forward to? Are you doing anything different this pregnancy? I'm doing alright. I'm looking forward to my first dr appt in early Oct. I'm keeping my expectations in check this time, and I've joined this awesome group for more support.

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: How many work happy hours can I decline before folks start putting two and two together? I need to think of some good excuses. I really like my coworkers, but I don't want to drop hints before I know this one will last.

    5. GTKY: If you could travel for a month for free where would you go? New Zealand! Hands down.
  • Hello everyone! My name is Kelly. I had a missed mc last year. The baby did not grow past 7 weeks and I miscarried naturally at 12 weeks.

    1. I am now 6+3

    2. I am feeling good overall. I have an u/s next Friday and I am hoping for a heart beat! This pregnancy I am listening to my body and sleeping a lot more. I'm trying very hard not to stress about symptoms or lack of.

    3. I'm so exhausted! And so unbelievably bloated!

    4. I want to do a scuba diving adventure to all of the worlds best sites! Or sail around the Bahamas..
  • 4 weeks today, I think.  Just waiting to get past 7 weeks which was my latest loss.  I usually feel better after that.  Although, feeling good about this pregnancy.  As in, I actually feel pregnant this time, which is different than the last three times.

No real rants or raves.  Feeling pretty good and that's about it.

I'd go to Jamaica.  Ever pay year we host international students from Jamaica and I'd go see them in Kingston for a few weeks then travel over to Negril for a few weeks.  I love that country and would love to see our students again, even though 3 of them just left last weekend and one is still here.  :)

  • 1. We had absolutely no issues getting pregnant the first time and now have an amazing/sassy 2 year old daughter. When we decided to try for a 2nd we got pregnant within 2 months. In August 2015 I had my first miscarriage after 8 weeks. October 2015 I miscarried at 6 weeks. After that I decided I needed a mental/emotional break. We got pregnant again March 2016 and actually made it to the ultrasound without bleeding only to find out baby had a very low heart beat. Miscarried at 10 weeks. We were devastated. My husband took a new job across the country so our plan was to wait until new insurance kicked in and do any testing we could before getting pregnant again. We got pregnant 2 weeks before my first obgyn appt so here we go with pregnancy #5

    2. 6 weeks 5 days

    3. I'm doing okay...every day without bleeding is a step forward. We have our first ultrasound next week and I am anxiously awaiting that appt. I am taking baby aspirin everyday with this pregnancy and symptoms are been stronger than with my losses so that keeps me positive.

    4. I'm trying not to get too excited but it's hard not to start planning when/how to tell everyone and thinking about what life with 2 kiddos will be like. Hoping for the best!

    5. Italy and Spain
  • 2. How far along are you?
    4weeks+5

    3. How are you doing? What is the next milestone you're looking forward to? Are you doing anything different this pregnancy?
I got my beta results back yesterday and everything is looking great! I am scheduled for an u/s Sept. 30, so that is the next thing that has me anxious. The first ultrasound with my last pregnancy is where things started to go wrong (the u/s showed a slow heart beat and not measuring right), eventually leading to my m/c at 12 weeks.

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: I am cutting back caffeine a bit more this pregnancy, but have been having major fatigue. Any tips aside from caffeine for an energy boost?

    5. GTKY: If you could travel for a month for free where would you go?
Hawaii. Been there before, but would love to take my family.

  • @Jellybeanqueen13 that's how our ultrasound went as well. we were measuring 5 or 6 days behind and my dr. tried to say "everything looks great, you're just not as far as you thought you were" and I knew that that was not true bc we had been monitored for ovulation and I knew when we'd conceived. My ultrasound is the 28th, I hope they both go much better this time.

I want to know what you guys would do. I've had one early miscarriage and one missed miscarriage. they were both awful, but not knowing my baby had quit growing and walking around thinking I was still carrying a healthy baby was way worse (in my mind) than knowing exactly when it happened and being able to grieve and move on (I don't mean that in an insensitive way). I've had HCG draws on days 13, 15, 19, and 21. They are rising appropriately and correlate with how far along I think I am. I originally had an u/s scheduled for September 22 but we moved it to the 28 so that there would hopefully be more to see and we'd be more likely to see a strong heartbeat. My OB left it up to me whether I want to check my hcg mon and Wednesday of next week but I don't know if i'll stress myself out more waiting for those or not having them checked and worrying we had a mmc again. Would you continue to go in and get hcg levels or just wait at this point??
  • 1. Introduce yourself if you haven't yet
Hi all! I'm new here and am hoping I can sit with you :) This will be my 3rd pregnancy (2nd baby, hopefully). I lurked on the Dec 14 boards with my son but was too chicken to ever post, so am taking the leap this time around.

    2. How far along are you?
Somewhere around 4 or 5 weeks

    3. How are you doing? What is the next milestone you're looking forward to? Are you doing anything different this pregnancy?
I know I shouldn't be, but I keep unfavorably comparing this pregnancy to my first pregnancy, which was the miscarriage. My husband keeps telling me it's all in my head, but I can't help it since I really do feel like I have similar symptoms to that pregnancy. And I'm paranoid. Lol

I can't wait until my drs appointment since he gives ultrasounds at 8 weeks and that was when I found out there were problems with my first pregnancy.

    4. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:

    5. GTKY: If you could travel for a month for free where would you go?
I would love to island hop in Greece. I visited a couple islands briefly years ago and have always wanted to see more.
