This is a weekly check-in for those in their 2nd trimester: weeks 14 through the end of week 27.
Congrats to all the strong ladies who have made it this far! It's such a great feeling and we've all accomplished so much! We are now 1 week closer to the end of this especially long journey we call "infertility".
Please post below a little about yourself, how many beans you have growing inside, if you have found out the sex(es) and what your EDD is. Please also let us know how far you've made it on your journey and when your next appt is and what for. If I'm missing anyone from this list, please let me know and I will add you.
QOTW - If you had a free pass to eat/drink anything
that is banned during pregnancy, what would it be?

Good morning everyone! No appointments for me for a while. I think I'm starting to feel the baby so it's pretty exciting. For now it just feels like a slight thumping/rumbling down below that feel here and there during the day, so I'm really hoping it's not me confusing something else for baby's movement.
QOTW - I miss sushi the most. Over the weekend I went out to dinner with friends and everyone had a cocktail except me. It was the first time in a long time I really wanted a delicious fruity drink as well.

Happy Monday all! I'm really struggling today as I slept horribly. My hips were very very painful last night so I probably woke up 8-10 times to roll over. My next appointment won't be until October 6th which is just a Doppler/check-in. We had our big gender reveal photo on Facebook this weekend, so I'm really feeling excited and that it's all coming together. DH also did some more drawing in the nursery.
QOTW: I would love to have some white wine. I miss coming home after a hard day at work, putting my feet up, and sipping wine while I read a book.

Happy Monday ladies! I hope everyone had a nice weekend. I spent a lot of yesterday crafting. I painted some canvas' with Bible verses for the nursery. Its so hard b/c I totally want to start nesting but I can't until we move b/c we don't have space to buy a lot of the stuff (like furniture) for the nursery. So I have been doing a lot of crafting that is more decoration stuff in the meantime. It helps me feel like I'm at least doing something. LOL. No appointments this week.
QOTW: I really miss sushi! And a good deli sandwich. I never thought I would miss just a regular cold cut sandwich so much! I'm not a big drinker to begin with so that part wasn't that often. I did have a friend tell me that when she was pregnant and couldn't sleep she would have a glass of red wine at night. My response was that really wasn't part of my schedule before getting pregnant and so I figured now wasn't the time to add that to it.

Hi girls!! No appts until sept 23. And that's just for a heartbeat check. I miss sushi and red wine the most. That's my favorite Friday night!! I can't wait until baby stuff starts rolling in although I don't think that'll happen until the invited go out first for the baby shower.
I have the second anatomy scan since baby b didn't cooperate last time I go tomorrow hopefully she is more cooperative this time. And next week a normal ob appointment. QOTW:I have been craving a Bloody Mary or a mojito. No food cravings really
Hi Ladies! I cannot believe this is my last check in with you girls!! I will be 28 weeks on Saturday. It's true what they say about 2nd trimester flying by, wow! Yesterday DH and I had an all day child preparation class with a tour of the maternity unit. We gained so much useful information and insight. On Wednesday we have our breastfeeding class and then I believe we are done with classes. I was thinking about maybe a CPR class but I'm not sure. Is anyone else taking any classes?
QOTW: It hasn't really hit me yet, but once fall is in full swing I am going to miss pumpkin beer, it's one of my favorite parts about the season! I may stock up and then have them once baby is born Food wise I really don't miss much, I would say sushi, but I have eaten cooked sushi which has satisfied the craving.

@Griffin5413 you are so crafty! I'm too nervous to start anything fun!
@dragonfaerie I hope your able to figure out a sleeping position that allows you to be more restful! Have you tried some yoga stretches before bed to help w the pain? I've found it helps a bit!
@Tulips29 that totally sounds like how the first movement I felt did feel! How exciting!!
Afm: Doc appointment tomorrow. It can not come soon enough. Keep your fx that she lets me do another u/s in the near future. I'm extra nervous b/c I scheduled a maternity photo shoot w a friend in October. I haven't done much of any planning yet, but she is coming in from Chicago special for us so I wanted to commit and get the date nailed down. I keep panicking that I have jinxed myself.
Qotw: I'm not really sure that there is anything. I've realized how inconvenient not being able to eat lunch meat is, but I'm not missing it at all. I miss my occasional glass of red wine, but it's not that hard. Most soft cheeses you can find pasteurized now, if we couldn't that would be HARD.

@vssbrm oh, good! I'm glad I'm not going crazy then wondering if it's just my stomach having weird twitches or the baby lol. Fx for more u/s! I found out today I have to get an extra one at 24 weeks because my placenta is still low and has to be monitored. On one hand it's nice to have an extra one, but I'm also worried the placenta won't grow like it's supposed to.

Hello lovely ladies! Feeling great since 14 weeks (no nausea/vomiting) crazy how it really did disappear once I hit 2nd tri! I have been having awful headaches for the last week though. I am prone to headaches but these have been soooo bad.
QOTW: I have had cooked sushi otherwise I would definitely say sushi! But I'd say wine for sure! And I was pretty sad to have to have to opt out of chocolate mousse for dessert at a restaurant because it had raw eggs!!

@chicandbubbly yay for no more nausea or vomiting! Sorry you're having more headaches now. I have them so frequently now also, it's pretty crazy. My OB said its normal and I pretty much don't leave home without my Tylenol bottle. Hope they get better for you!

@chicandbubbly I had no idea how much stuff had raw eggs in it! I ordered a Caesar salad at dinner and another pregnant lady there said she missed having those. I was like "what? why? Should I not have this?" I didn't know the dressing usually had raw eggs. I ate about half the salad cuz it was just a little and then my DH ate the rest. Same thing with Tiramisu!

@dragonfaerie I agree. It can get a little ridiculous though. I had someone at dinner out once say "you can't get that salad it has feta in it." I was like umm?? I am pretty sure the cheese is pasteurized....
Also- people who commented they are missing deli meat/sushi don't forget you can have deli meat if you heat it up and there are plenty of delicious sushi options that are not raw. Shrimp, crab, scallops and also eel are always served cooked, so that is a safe bet.

@chicandbubbly Most cheeses these days are pasteurized, but I usually just ask if they know if it is. But, I kinda see it as "I had less than 1 oz of that thing, I'm probably okay."

@chicandbubbly I avoid sushi rolls because they are all made on the same thing. I was okay with that until a lady brought that up to me so I stopped eating California rolls. Also cheese being pasteurized I always want to ask because I love feta sometimes I just sneak it lol.
on another note baby b did not cooperate again she is face down looking in so they could not see her face ugh. They did get to see her heart which is a relief. I go back in two weeks for my 24 week appointment hopefully then she flips over lol.
@Griffin5413 very cute paintings! I love being crafty, but it's hard to find time to do it. And I'm with you on deli cuts, I really miss a nice Publix sub!
@erica0901 Yay for moving along! We'll also probably take the childbirth classes, breastfeeding , "becoming a parent", "happiest baby on the block", car seat workshop and I'll have DH and my sister who lives with us take CPR (I already do it because of my job)
@dragonfaerie Sorry you are having trouble sleeping, have you found anything that works?

QOTW: I think what I would love is to enjoy food again!! I am a food lover and it's been so hard to eat anything, but like I said I think I'm getting over it, fx! @yelllow22 Taking a Benadryl definitely helps, and if I remember to stretch before bed my hips don't hurt as bad. Also having the nasal strips and vicks keeps the snuffles to a minimum so I don't feel so wretched in the morning.

Have any of you had a pain by your belly button? It doesn't hurt that bad but it is uncomfortable. Speaking of belly buttons, mine is literally already changing it's flattening out and I don't even have a bump really yet! I am scared what it will look like come February! LOL.

@chicandbubbly yes! I geta sharp pain up in my belly button every once in a while, it's very strange. I'm almost wondering if my cord healed funny because I had random pains there before I got pregnant. And yes, it's flattening out, too. @chicandbubbly Awesome! I couldn't eat eggs my first trimester either! It's the only time we've ever had eggs go bad in our house cuz we would usually eat 3-4 every morning but I just couldn't handle the smell or even the thought of eating them. How are you feeling otherwise?

Happy Monday all! I'm really struggling today as I slept horribly. My hips were very very painful last night so I probably woke up 8-10 times to roll over. My next appointment won't be until October 6th which is just a Doppler/check-in. We had our big gender reveal photo on Facebook this weekend, so I'm really feeling excited and that it's all coming together. DH also did some more drawing in the nursery.
QOTW: I would love to have some white wine. I miss coming home after a hard day at work, putting my feet up, and sipping wine while I read a book.

Here's a pic of what I've been making...

I miss sushi and red wine the most. That's my favorite Friday night!!
I can't wait until baby stuff starts rolling in although I don't think that'll happen until the invited go out first for the baby shower.
QOTW:I have been craving a Bloody Mary or a mojito. No food cravings really

My headaches started right at week 15, I was told to start with Tylenol and if no relieve have a cup of coffee. I really miss ibuprofen!
