We haven't done this again in awhile! Here's a thread to brag about everything SO and helpful things he/she has done. It's easy to focus on the annoying/difficult things, but I'm sure there are plenty of things to brag about too! Let's hear it!
My husband has been great.. I've been so sick and he has totally stepped up.. I've been in the couch while he gets me whatever I need to feel better (store runs for ginger ale or food or whatever) he takes my daughter out to do stuff so I can nap.. not one complaint that I've done nothing. They've been living off take out and the few things husband can make (sandwiches, eggo waffles, Mac and cheese) and he's done ALL the housework.
Fiance has been letting me go to bed at 8 most nights and staying up with DD until she falls asleep. Which sometimes isn't until 10:30! The kid just doesn't sleep. He's also getting better about asking how i feel and being more sympathetic when I don't feel well.
My DH went to the store at almost 9 last night to pick me up because it's theb only thing th at sounded good. And let me tell you... best thing I've eaten all week
This last weekend was our 5th anniversary and my DH planned a whole weekend getaway for us without me helping/knowing anything. He packed my bag with everything I needed plus anything he thought I might need/want. It was so thoughtful of him and so nice to get away from the normal daily activities. It was my first night away from DS ever (he's 2.5) so it was weird but so awesome to have that short break!
Okay. This is about my mom, not my DH lol but I need to share
I've been having a really rough time the last couple of weeks. Nausea, exhausted and just burnt out. I called my mom Tuesday morning to vent. Next thing I know I get a text from her saying "on my way, don't try to stop me". She came over, brought me flowers, sent me to her house to sleep, and spent all day with DS so I could rest. I came home and she had cleaned my entire house. Now I just got a voicemail from her saying she's made dinner for me tonight and she'll drop off some more meals for me this weekend.
DH has been preparing all my meals (which are basically smoothies and toast right now, but still), since I can't go into the kitchen let alone open the fridge without gagging, and even preparing lunch/snacks for me before he leaves for work (I work from home). In addition to cat litter duties (which obviously wasn't up for debate) he has also taken on a TON of other chores I used to do but just can't handle right now. Definitely plan on making it up to him big time as soon as I feel better - which will hopefully be any day now since I am 11w2d!
My DH has also been doing his own cooking and some of the shopping too. We've had guests every weekend for the last four weeks and he's kept the house tidy and done the heavy duty cleaning and the stuff that requires bleach or other chemicals. This is a little TMI but I have to mention how patient he's been with my first tri sex ban. It's almost over at least! A few more weeks!
My SO is working night shifts and on the weeks I work later we don't see each other in the evenings. On those days he has been making sure that dinner is made and dishes are done for DS and I when we get home. Makes my evenings so much easier, especially since I've felt like complete crud.
I'm just happy that partner is still changing the kitty litter box without complaining even though I think he figured out that toxoplasmosis doesn't present itself as much of a risk with indoor cats.
