RMANJ Process

I'm currently at RMANJ and have some questions for everyone.

i started there in the beginning of August, my cycle started that day, so I had my hsg the next week. Went through all required testing andgenetjc testing, purchased my donor, and then found out on the 7th of September I needed another followup with my doctor now that all the testing is done. The earlier appointment with my doctor is October 25th, and I'm crushed. I wished I knew the process would require another follow up with her, as I was under the impression once I did all my testing we were good to go for my first iui. I am crushed because I took a semester off of my grad school to get pregnant, and if I get a bfp after November, that will be another semester next fall I have to take off.

How did everyone elses process go with them?

Re: RMANJ Process

  • @awoz20 hi there! I'm a recent RMA nj convert too. Welcome! So far, I have been very pleased with how responsive they have been and they recognize my urge to get this process moving along as quickly as possible. Like you, I'm back in school as a post bacc student and was hoping to have been pregnant by now due to convenience in the timing but that didn't happen with my last clinic. My new doc at RMA recognizes that I want to get this process moving as fast as possible and he's been super accommodating so far. Would you consider switching doctors within the RMA group in order to schedule an earlier appointment? I have heard such great things about plenty of the doctors that I think making the switch could be beneficial.

  • @mous I called last week and they were going to reach out to the doctor to get me in earlier, then checked back yesterday and they told me I would hear back latest today. If I don't hear back I'm calling tomorrow to find a different doctor in the practice. I was going to morristown for convience of the location, but I will move to Basking Ridge because my frustration level is up there and I know we're are not supposed to over stress through this process.
  • @awoz20 I am a current RMANJ patient and while I have every faith that they know what they are doing - I have felt that I have not been kept properly informed throughout the process and that I feel it's a bit disorganized - like I had no direction. When we proceed to IVF, I am going to make sure to sit down with them and go step by step and question everything. I was hoping to do a Clomid round last cycle and then they told me I needed a consult from a hematologist first and that OH needed more bloodwork even though they told me last time that only thing needed to move forward was the SA which was completed on time. I was super frustrated. I go to the West orange office so not sure how other offices differ.

  • @marley629 @awoz20 I'm a patient at the basking ridge office and me and my husband are extremely pleased so far and they are night and day from our last clinic. we have our own dedicated nurse and she is the sweetest and most helpful.
  • Wife just called and spoke to a patient liaison who got us in for the end of September, which is a lot better than over a month away. They just said it would be a lot more work to switch doctors, new consult appt etc. End of September has me happier than the end of October but now I'm scared of what they are going to throw at me when I do my follow up appointment. I jumped through hoops to get everything done ASAP, and have one more tsh level check on September 19th. Hoping that's it. My thyroid level is normal for a non-pregnant woman so hoping it went down enough with the synthesis they started me on a month ago.
  • @awoz20 good luck! Make sure you update us all on your progress!
  • Well, I was squeezed in for an appt today, tomorrow I go to get my hormone levels checked to see if I need my period brought on, and then day 3 we start clomid and metformin! I can't be anymore excited and I'm so happy we pushed to get that earlier appt!
  • @awoz20 so happy this all worked out for you!!!! Are you in Morristown still?
  • @mous yes I am. By some fate they had that appt open and here I am this morning to get this process going. Can't wait to get this started!
