Last time we took DD on the lift, she did about 8 runs on the baby lift and had a great time. She wildly exceeded my expectations and we are so happy. The baby lift is very slow and short at A-Basin. It was also a beautiful sunny day.
Yesterday, we went back to A-Basin (we have passes) and it was about 10 degrees and windy (and light snow was falling). I figured we wouldn't get her out for long so we decided to take her out right away while her energy was high. She did about 7-8 runs on the baby lift before needing a break and is showing improvement (ie: putting more weight on her legs, needing less support from us) already. Then she wanted to go on the "big lift" which goes all the way up to the mid-mountain. It's fast and long and again, it was pretty cold. I thought she'd chicken out before we even got on, but she wanted to go THREE times before she just got too cold. I think she would have gone all day if the weather was nice.
As an aside, a slow snowplow with a child between your legs halfway down the mountain is KILLER on the quads.
I'm so proud of her. No pictures this time because of the cold/wind/snow I didn't want to deal with the camera. . . I won't make that mistake again.

Re: I have to AW on my skiing baby again
That is amazing! Especially at A-Basin, one of the steeper resorts I've ever been to.
That's actually where I learned to ski too, and let me tell you, I nearly wet myself going down the non-bunny hill there for the first time, so she's got one over on me already! Awesome!

thats awesome! I wished I learned how to ski when I was young.
Cooker, she did have a pull-up on. . . maybe she did wet herself
I love all the high-fives and good vibes we're getting from people for getting her started. . . I really thought we'd do a couple of runs each day out for the season and not get too serious about it 'til next year. . . the last thing I wanted to do was push her. . . but she's the one making the decisions!!
The downside is that for DH and I to get some good skiing in, we have to go alone because when we go with her, we only get a few runs apiece while she's having lunch or a break. Luckily, we have some ski vacations planned in Feb. and March with childcare.
hiker - you've once again inspired me! :-) We decided to take Sam out on President's Day, because it's his third birthday & my family will be in town to watch him (and handle Nick at the lodge). Can't wait! I bought him the CUTEST ski jacket. It's all about the clothes!!
