I went in for my 1st appointment and ultrasound yesterday. Based on LMP, when I ovulated and the only possible time of conception I should have been 8w3d. The ultrasound measured 6 weeks with a heart rate of 120. Because we know we couldn't have conceived 2 weeks later, my Dr told me it could be a bad sign but that she is happy with the heartbeat and told me to stay positive. She did a blood test and today they told me my progesterone was very low at 7.9 when it needs to be at least 15. I am going to start taking supplements today but I feel so guilty for not finding this out sooner and I'm so worried that its too late. I have a history of loss with 3 previous MC but none due to low progesterone and I haven't had any warning signs with this pregnancy. I can't talk to my husband about this because he is just excited to see a heartbeat and I don't want to take that away from him and bring him to my level. I'm trying to stay positive because I saw a heart beat but its hard. I just wanted to vent/get this off my chest. The waiting is so hard! I wish I could have an ultrasound every day

Progesterone does not have anything to do with the development of the baby - has everything to do with your body getting the signal to start cramping, bleeding, and initiating a miscarriage if that number gets too low.
Hang in there!!!!!
DD (12), DS (8).
Baby Boy EDD 4/6/17.
I'm in a similar boat and measuring exactly 2 weeks behind but did see a flickering heartbeat as well last week. Same deal with conception date too...the date range that it would have happened based on how far along I am is not even possible...my husband was out of town, and none of it adds up. My progesterone was 11...my OB said she doesn't like to supplement at that point. So, I'm just trying to trust her.
Hoping for great news at your appointment next week!
PS I saw that you're in Austin too!
I requested my progesterone be tested at my first ob/gyn appt at 4 weeks bc I chart and have short luteal phase which can indicate low progesterone. It was 16.5...borderline so I as giveneeded choice on supplements (suppositories). Two weeks later my level was 15. I talked tof my gp and he suggested oral or injections. I called obgyn and said I was concerned bc I don't think I'm absorbing them (they tripled my dosage). I was referred to their NaPro and prescribed injections which is protocol for pregnant women with levels under 20 at the point I was in my pregnancy.
This is newer and even the midwives and drs in office don't get it she said. But she explained it and gave me charts to refer to. She said she would've put me on injections with my levels originally at 4 weeks
I will be monitored and retested every 2 weeks. Low progesterone can can cause pretty term labor so no clue how long I'm on it but hopefully not too long. My nurse had her 1st baby at 29 weeks bc of low progesterone so with her new pregnancy she stay on it.
