September IUI

Re: September IUI

  • @fivetimesnoluck Thanks for thinking of me! Test was BFN.  :'( I was distracted from this, however, by DH having really bad kidney stones- surgery yesterday to remove them and a stent put in. Hoping to move forward next cycle once he is recovered, probably October. Hope your TWW is going smoothly!
  • ashcip sorry you didn't have better news!

My skin has also been breaking out pretty bad from the all the hormones. No dry skin, just pimples as though I was a 13 year old.

@ashcip I'm sorry you didn't get better news today. FX the Femara speeds up that growth!

@skysong113 Sorry about the BFN, and about your DH's surgery! I hope he recovers quickly!

AFM u/s showed a 22 and a 26, so triggering tonight if no positive OPK, and IUI#2 on Thursday. IUI tomorrow if +OPK. It's only CD11 for me, so I was very unprepared for this news.

  • @fivetimesnoluck Thanks for asking, I'm feeling kinda discouraged at this point. I've been testing out my trigger and it was lingering a long time, but was pretty faint yesterday, and today is the first day it was truly negative. I feel like a BFN at 12dpIUI pretty much means I'm out, but I'll keep testing until AF and let you all know.

PS I also stalk the spreadsheet, and consider adding people when they don't add themselves :)

And your comment about adding people is SO me! I like lists. (I am not organized at all, but when I have something else I should be doing, all of a sudden I am all about making lists or managing my finances or looking up recipes I will never use!)

Well my update. I finally got my call back from the doctor. I'm going back to cycle day 2, since i had poor growth. I'll start fermara again tomorrow day 3-9. Then I'll do an injection of gonal f on day 7 and 9. Go back for an ultrasound on Day 12. so September 23rd. And will hopefully have much better growth. So wow! Thought we were close to the end and instead we are back to the beginning. Craziness!! So excited for everyone!!

  • Sorry to just jump in here. I was trying to put TTC out of the brain for the last few weeks and I kind of posted and ghosted after my intro :(

My first IUI will be this week, unmediated to start with. I go in for my ultrasound today to see how ovulation is going and see when to schedule the IUI this week. Nervous but ready.

I'll be reading up on you ladies when I'm able to get home and relax.
  • AF started at work and I was on the phone with the Dr office about 2 minutes later. I go for my baseline tomorrow! So excited
  • @ReesaAnne16 oops i just realized i was a slacker and hadn't added myself to the spreadsheet!

@skysong113 sorry to hear your news!  and that your poor hubby had to go through all that.  Kidney stones are one of the most painful things :(

@ashcip good luck with round 2 of the meds!  hope this is what your ovaries need!

@fivetimesnoluck wow a kitchen reno!  sounds like a big project but it's probably fun to pick out the new stuff.

@Isthisthereallife Thanks girly!  How are things going for you?  Good luck with your ultrasound tomorrow!!

Has anyone heard of bullet journaling?  I just learned about it and am thinking I will start one in the new year.  Need to work on my handwriting skills first... Looks like a creative way to keep life ORGANIZED for all you ladies who love lists.

  • @fivetimesnoluck you crack me up! I, too, stalk the boards/spreadsheet when I'm at work!

ReesaAnne16 good luck! There's still hope. You're in it till AF!

ashcip that does sound frustrating. I'm sorry!! Hopefully it goes by quickly.

LuluMurph good luck with your new cycle!

@lady_grey Thing's are going good. Had the U/S this morning. Looks like there are 5 follies with 3 of them growing. A 13.8 and two 14's. The other two are 12's. I'm surprised as I really thought that they'd be closer to 15/16 today, but I guess every cycle is different. Have to wait for nurse call back but the tech said she thinks trigger Saturday for Monday.

On another note,  I'm curious if anyone else experienced this. I swear the side-effects are getting worse every round. My first round the clomid/follitism had very minor effect on me, 2nd time was a little worse, and this time - (DH will attest) I'm a nut case. It seems like I'm more moody, more headache's, bloating, and just carrying some extra weight. Any one else feel like this or is it in my head?

    Welcome, @viabug! Good luck!

@LuluMurph I am sorry for AF, but happy to hear you're moving straight ahead into a new cycle.

@Isthisthereallife I am not sure whether the side effects have actually compounded, but I have actually gained about 10 pounds and it feels like it happened overnight. The joys of IF keep coming. Ugh.

ETA: @lady_grey The renovation has actually been much less painless than I expected it to be. I have been proud of how DH and I have worked together and have also been super impressed with his work ethic and knowledge of how to do all this stuff! He's been amazing. (He used to work in construction, so he is doing all the work himself after his day job!)

  • @fivetimesnoluck I ended up testing this morning and it's a BFN. My beta is tomorrow and I doubt it'll change. I'm having major AF symptoms. Goung to visit a friend in South Carolina with DH Sunday-Tuesday so I won't be able to get into my RE before then so I'm not sure when we will start the next iui bc at my last appointment he talked about changing my meds and idk what he wants to change them to.
  • Ugh, that sucks, @JAH87. I am sorry. It's never easy. Hopefully you will get the chance to make a new plan and be comfortable with how you will move forward.

I live in SE Georgia and we are getting doused by a little tropical storm named Julia right now. I hope this weather doesn't affect your travel to SC!

  • @mrsdaddario thanks for the hugs, ((hugs)) back to you, sorry about your BFN also.

@beary67 #1 & #2 iui I did letrozole (femara) for 5 days and then went in on cycle day 11 for an us, only had 1 follie both times and I ovidrel trigger shot that night and then iui give or take 30 hours later.

@fivetimesnoluck hurricane doesn't effect our travels. Hoping you are okay and if I could make it stop I would.
  • @mrsdaddario and @jah87 - offering Internet hugs too.  Take care of yourselves!

@beary67 I know, I feel the same way about my handwriting, like I have to learn to write like a font before I start doing the bullet journal thing but that is an immense task! Haha!

@fivetimesnoluck that is impressive that your hubs is doing all that work in your kitchen!  Sounds like a great guy.  I love when they do stuff that makes us see them in a different light and appreciate them in new ways...
  • Oh boo it cut off the rest of my post.
@Isthisthereallife I wanted to say I too have suffered side effects from the clomid and it's not always the same!  Like this cycle I didn't have the hot flashes which was weird.  But still the mood swings!  Hang in there and hope you keep growing those beautiful follies!!
  • Well BFN again this morning 2 weeks post IUI. My clinic only checks a beta if you get a positive.
I'll probably stick around, depending on when AF arrives my next IUI might be sept 30th ish or Oct 1st.

Thanks for all your support ladies! I hope this month is better for you.

Oh no! I'm so sorry to see all these BFN's this morning. Hang in there ladies! @ReesaAnne16@mrsdaddario and @jah87. Fingers crossed for the next cycle.

I am anxiously awaiting our U/S tomorrow morning. With DH's numbers on the last SA (37mil post wash), I'm feeling very hopeful that they have continued to go up. It's a huge difference from the 4mil we had at our 1st IUI in July or the 900 he had at his very first SA a year ago.

  • I'm so sorry to hear about everyone's BFN.  But to echo what Fivetimes said, go take some time with the therapist ;)

I start the Femera today, and have my 2nd u/s scheduled for the 23rd.  I'm not expecting too much, but can't keep myself from getting my hopes up.  I know I'm just setting myself up for disappointment, but can't stop hoping.  GL to everyone still waiting to test!
  • AFM, had a late start to this cycle for some reason but on to IUI#1.  Finally starting Clomid on Sunday, then ultrasound on the 24th to check follies.  Excited!

  • @mrsdrwombat I'm so sorry. I wish all 4 of us could get together tonight for a wine & whine date :)

AF also arrived today (I'm actually glad she didn't waste her time coming). So I've already picked up meds for the next cycle. My Dr. is upping my Letrozole dose to 7.5mg (yay!) so hopefully I will get more than 1 follicle this time.

I'll stick around here, because my actual IUI will probably be one of the last few days of Sept (weird timing huh?)

  • Thank you everyone. Beta confirmed BFN. Ready to hit the road Sunday and escape all this for a few days. Holding up okay at the moment trying to distract myself.
  • @RessaAnne16 I agree!  The only up side I find is it is our wedding anniversary on Sunday so I get to have some wine.  We are going out to a nice restaurant to celebrate.

What a flurry of bad news here....  So sorry to everyone and good luck to those still in the running.
  • Morning everyone, I need some prayers this morning.

Went to my U/S and it showed two follies at 16.5 and two at 15. The tech advised that they might cancel. I am praying that they let us move forward. We understand and accept the risks. I can use all the positive thoughts and prayers I can get today. Nurse should call later on. Thanks ladies!
