Re: Tuesday Ticker Change (9/13/2016)

  • Victoria is 4 weeks old now (a month on Friday) and weighed in at 7lbs 3oz today.  I'm just thrilled about that!  Not knowing exactly how much milk I'm making and whether or not she's getting enough is stressful, so seeing that big weight gain is such a relief.  (on Tuesdays and Saturdays, we're using our postal scale and putting her in a little box LOL)

Rants/Raves/Questions?  STILL BLEEDING - when will it end??!

Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? I'm hungrier now than I ever was while pregnant.  I want bread and meat all the time.

GTKY: My first post-partum treat was a little bottle of pink champagne my boss brought me in the hospital.  On our way home, we picked up salads with seared tuna from one of my favorite restaurants.  I was in heaven!

  • How many weeks? 39. Still here!

What size? Pumpkin size because that sounds adorable.

Upcoming appointments? Three left! NST on Friday, final NST and clinical on Tuesday. The doctor let me decide if I wanted to keep them since I'm being induced at 8pm next Tuesday, and I went ahead and kept them just in case.

Rants/Raves/Questions? THE END IS NEAR! I'm kind of excited, but also terrified. If contractions are anything like the cramps I've been having I'm not looking forward to them. I asked the doctor what the induction would be like and it seems they're going to start with the bulb... thingy first. I have a feeling that's going to be painful. Oh well, it's almost baby time!

Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? My husband has been keeping a mental list of every craving I've told him about since I got the gestational diabetes diagnosis. I'm going to eat so much. It will be great. I'm going to eat everything. RIP weight.

GTKY: What is the first post-partum treat you're going to have? I told my husband I want McDonald's as soon as I can eat it. Lol. I'll save the fancy meal for when I can sit and enjoy it.

How many weeks? 40!!! Due date today!

    What size? A baby

Upcoming appointments? I go tomorrow night to get the foley catheder inserted to start the induction. Then Thursday is induction day. I am so excited!

Rants/Raves/Questions? Anyone have experience with the foley catheder or them breaking your water? Just wondering if either are painful. They did say the catheder might cause cramping and could start contractions (so could the water breaking, but I'd be in the hospital for that, whereas I have to sleep at home Wednesday night with the catheder).

Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? Not much! I feel pretty good physically - I think I've just gotten used to how my body feels now

GTKY: What is the first post-partum treat you're going to have? Not sure! Probably like a donut or something. Not that I haven't been having donuts, but theres a Tims in the hospital so we'll likely get something from there

  • @RG1 breaking your water doesn't hurt.  It's along the lines of discomfort as a cervical check because they are UP in your business, but the breaking itself doesn't hurt.  It feels gross and warm coming out though.

LOL @mamadomino yes they are all UP in your business! It's so awkward

@618mom22boys ok Amelia - just keep eating! Just keep eating! It took us a while to start putting on weight and had to keep returning for weight checks. Both a nuisance and a worry. She'll get there though.
