Where do I begin? I didn't think I'd be on here today but I have just spent the last 2 hours of life dealing with my health insurance company related to trying to get set up for this pregnancy. I am not in a good state of mind to write down my rant about all of the steps of their incompetence and what went wrong, but the main take-away is that their online system that tells me what the doctors/providers are that exist is WRONG and has been out of date for over a year since before we moved here (it was an issue when I initially selected a PCP, and now is an issue again as I try this again for this reason.)
I have gotten almost no work done today because of this crap.
1. We recently had a water leak which necessitated the removal of the tile in our laundry room and the bamboo floor in our family room, and resulted in a huge hole cut in our drywall. Insurance has agreed to cover all the construction recommended by the contractor EXCEPT an asbestos test. Contractor won't start work until they complete an asbestos test. Our insurance says it's not necessary since our home is less than 10 years old. I'm so annoyed. I'm sure the contractor has some sort of insurance requirement requiring the test. Is it really necessary for a newer home? Have we all been exposed to asbestos???
2. It's dress-up week at daycare. One day is "Culture Day". My daycare is a melting pot of several cultures. But, I guess our family doesn't really have a specific culture? I have no idea how to dress my very Caucasian, non-specific heritage DD. I'm excited for her to learn about her friends' cultures, but I have no idea what she should wear. What ever happened to Pajama Day?
I am still super pissed that someone stole a decorative succulent log from our front yard Saturday night. I had to explain to my 4 year old that people sometimes take things that don't belong to them. Awesome. So pissed because it isn't going to be a kid that wants something like that! I had all the kids toys on the porch too. Plus they can't make any money off of that or anything! So frustrating.

2) I am NOT looking forward to my first appointment. They said to "eat and drink a lot prior. we will take a LOT of blood." Also, transvaginal ultrasounds are less than exciting.

My daughter is a thumb-sucker and because of it always smells just a little bit like saliva. It's normally not a big deal but now she STINKS and I'm so sad because she always wants to cuddle, sit in my lap, etc. She's also usually sweatier than her older brother and so sometimes she smells because of that. Only if she has recently had a bath does she smell good (and then she smells amazing due to the increased nose sensitivity!)
