What size is baby? A roller skate or a coconut. Or an eggplant. These are all very different sizes. *head scratch*
Upcoming appointments? Not until 9/19.
Rants/Raves/Questions? At the appointment on the 19th I am scheduled to have the TDap vaccine. We are pro-vaccine for Little Dude but this particular one seems a bit controversial given that it's administered during the pregnancy. I haven't seen (may have missed, forgive me if so) much scuttlebutt about it around here. Anyone have anything to add to a small discussion about it?
Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? If you missed my food post in the What My Pregnancy Self is Eating thread, you can check it out for this answer. The list is NEVERENDING.
GTKY: What is your go to way to cope with stress? Depends on the level. Reading, writing, organizing in general (i.e. Making lists, cleaning), working out was always a big one until recently, and then some things more distracting like coloring, puzzles, & watching YouTube makeup tutorials. I'll try it all!
What size is baby? Honestly, who comes up with these? Eggplant.. Coconut.. Rollerblade.. There is no way those are remotely close to the same..
Upcoming appointments? I had planned on an uneventful September for appointments but now I have to see a diabetic nurse and dietician for the foreseeable future.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Rant: Trop50 isn't even close to resembling orange juice. Rave: DH installed the new nursery closet this weekend so I can start putting things in their proper place. Also scored some major deals at my first trip to Carters! Ohh and I've slept so well the last 2 nights. Like 10+ hours and only waking once each night.
Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? I want to eat everything that I am no longer allowed to eat. I want breadsticks and brownies and apple cider.
GTKY: What is your go to way to cope with stress? I rarely receive massages for enjoyment anymore, they are always work/training related. Bubble baths and chocolate are my current stress relievers.

What size is baby? Tarte Tatin, a prairie dog, a baseball glove
Upcoming appointments? Not for a while...though we do tour the hospital this Tuesday, which will be interesting.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Things are going pretty well - though I am starting to get nauseous if I eat too much...I can see 3rd tri just looming right around the corner. People can't seem to decide on what to make of my belly. I'm either way bigger than they would think for 6 months or they don't think I look pregnant at all. So sorry to displease, onlookers!
How many weeks? 28 weeks! The Bump tells me that lungs are developed enough that she will "probably survive" if born today, so that is exciting.
What size is baby? Eggplant. I told my husband this and he said, speaking of which, we need to figure out what we're doing with all of our eggs. If anyone has any good egg-heavy recipes, please send!
Upcoming appointments? I have to get regular growth sonograms going forward, so I go back on 9/29! I think the docs were concerned due to my autoimmune problems, but so far everything has been good. Earlier in the pregnancy, she was measuring about a week behind, but last week she was right on target with my EDD.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Rant: I'm not ready for the barrage of judgey, critical, or just plain nosy comments that all moms inevitably get. I don't like it when people comment "oh you're really showing now!" or "you should really be eating X instead of Y!" Mind your own business!
Rave: (1) I feel fortunate that this pregnancy has been relatively smooth so far. All of my sonograms have been "perfect" according to the docs, and as a recovering worry wart, that feedback really helps calm my mind. (2) I'm also taking my real estate exam today (the first of two - if I pass this one, I get to move onto the state licensing exam), and I got a 98% on my last practice test! I am pretty excited about that and hope it's a good indication that I will pass today's exam.
Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? Besides a bit more difficulty moving around, feeling pretty good. A couple nights ago I was up with stomach problems but nothing too bad. No real cravings or aversions.
GTKY: What is your go to way to cope with stress? Hide in my room... haha. I try to keep a level head but sometimes it boils over and I just have to vent. I don't really have any good strategies besides being mindful to keep stressful things in perspective.
What size is baby? : A bunch of kale...a bowling pin?
Upcoming appointments? Yeah....every Thursday now. Hoping this 3x a day Aldomet works, because another increase in dosage and I'll be sleeping through the rest of this pregnancy.
Rants/Raves/Questions? : What did you ladies labor in if you were at the hospital? @LinziLoo09I have been experiencing the same thing. I'm pretty average sized, and fortunately this pregnancy has been all belly for me, which I thought would make it pretty obvious I'm pregnant considering the rest of my body. But when I mention expecting a baby, more often than not I get "What? I couldn't tell you are pregnant! You look great!" So it's either my black shirts that are just making me look slim, or people assume that I have skinny legs and a gut. Not sure which. Haha.
Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? : I'm incredibly tired. Since Oktoberfest starts this week, I've been craving German food!
GTKY: What is your go to way to cope with stress?: I eat. Oh, you meant helpful coping mechanisms. Well, I like hot bubble baths, coloring, deep breathing, watch shitty, mindless movies, or I have sex. Cuddling or being frisky with DH always helps--he makes me feel safe, and the problems always seem so small afterwards.
What size is baby? A bunch of bananas, a Charlotte royale cake, camping lantern, a Fennek fox, a head of lettuce
Upcoming appointments? None until end of the month
Rants/Raves/Questions? @swhiddon33 - yup, we are all about me getting the Tdap while pregnant, plus immediate family who will be will around the baby a lot right after birth get it too. Did the same with DS. Especially since this LO will be born smack in the middle of cold and flu season.
Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? Nothing crazy, just def feeling the onset of 3rd tri. Total apathy towards food most of the time, starting to get some heartburn, achiness, difficulty sleeping, blah blah
GTKY: What is your go to way to cope with stress? Reading, mani/pedi, time with DH, brunch with my girlfriends, sister time
How many weeks? 28 Weeks. 3rd Trimester- unreal! What size is baby? Eggplant, rollerblade Upcoming appointments? Belly check tomorrow. Also possibly a discussion on GD depending on the results of the 3 hour test I did Saturday. Fingers crossed that I don't have it! Rants/Raves/Questions? Nothing!
Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? Again, nothing much. I feel great.
GTKY: What is your go to way to cope with stress? I actually don't cope with stress the best! Lol. I normally don't really realize when I am stressed until I have turned into a crazy person and then it is just damage control. I'm working on that.
How many weeks? 27 weeks... 3 months to go since my EDD is 12/12!
What size is baby? Thanks @jennbaylor12 - A bunch of bananas, a Charlotte royale cake, camping lantern, a Fennek fox, a head of lettuce! I can also add on lettuce, a lunch box, and an acorn squash. *That cake sounds pretty good when I read the description*
Upcoming appointments? Next Tuesday, which is another U/S... and then Glucose and monthly appointment. I am just taking the day off since I'll be at the hospital from 11:20-2ish, since I have days to waste.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I had a few people ask me this weekend when I saw them at a football game if I was ready to be done. I told them that, so far, I felt pretty good... so I actually don't feel that bad and only have 3 months to go. I am sure that can change from now until even a week from now (FTM), but I will take it! Oh, heartburn has been more regular and constipation comes and goes... along with hemorrhoids.
Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? Food, in general. Nothing out of the ordinary. Some foods just don't sound appealing, but I eat them anyway. Yesterday it was a veggie mix that we had with some grilled chicken. Sounded good when I picked it out (broccoli and carrots), but not good when I was eating it.
GTKY: What is your go to way to cope with stress? Try and relax... get my mind off of whatever is stressing me out. Usually I'll just lay on the couch, look some stuff up online, or watch some TV. At the moment, stress is a new job, finalizing baby registry stuff and wondering when the heck we're going to start on the babies room; trying not to let it all get to me. I could also go for some me time: shopping, mani/pedi, massage/facial.

Upcoming appointments? We go in on 9/26 for a 3D ultrasound that wasn't scheduled by my doctor, so it'll be lots cheaper without the cost of a doctor reading it. Then see my doc on 9/29 and get my rhogam shot. Yay A-
Rants/Raves/Questions? Rave: I just feel plain happy today. I'm so fortunate to have felt pretty great this entire pregnancy and I am in love with the little kicks/hiccups/movements. I love sitting in his nursery and imagining what he'll be like.
Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? I definitely second the changes in difficulty moving around. It's not too extreme yet, but I now have a grunt to accompany my motion of getting off the couch or floor. I also started getting some acid reflux, so I will finally slow down on my spicy food craziness *sigh* Bright side: it should help prep me for eating less spicy food while breastfeeding. Cravings: all the breakfast food!!
GTKY: What is your go to way to cope with stress? I fully admit to being a typical talkative woman - I go to the people closest to me and talk things through most of the time. Some types of stress I eat, and some I won't eat a thing.
What size is baby? : A bunch of kale, a bowling pin, butternut squash
Upcoming appointments? I have a check up on 9/21 and a u/s on 9/26 to check baby's growth.
Rants/Raves/Questions? : I am planning to talk to my supervisor about maternity leave to hopefully negotiate something a little better than what they're offering....I'm really nervous about it, and it doesn't help that he's been grumpy and stressed for what seems like weeks so I keep putting it off.
Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? : I've been tired and feeling big, but other than that all is well. Not craving much. Food isn't sounding really good lately.
GTKY: What is your go to way to cope with stress?: This isn't for everyone, but prayer is a big one for me, along with deep breathing and positive thinking. I also love massages and pedicures.
Upcoming appointments? Next monday. Doctor told me that this would be my last monthly appointment. My next one will be three weeks out then they'll go to every two weeks then every week in my last month.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Sleep is definitely becoming more difficult
Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? No real cravings but I want to eat fruit mostly and mexican food
GTKY: What is your go to way to cope with stress? I'm with @dmontgo with eating lol. Usually I try to vent about the stress, take a bath or just sleep. Maybe get a pedicure or go for a drive.
Me (28), H (30) Together Since 04/21/2009; Married Since 05/29/2013
Upcoming appointments? Just had an appt last week, so nothing until the last week of September
Rants/Raves/Questions? Baby's kicks are getting stronger, so I'm trying to soak up the not uncomfortable, sweet baby kicks phase. I can tell the next few weeks may be a little different. The last couple nights, she has kind of settled to the bottom of whatever side I'm sleeping on, and it almost feels like my belly is laying on top of a rock. Not bad, just a little strange.
Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? I feel like I go through 8 cravings in 10 minutes. As soon as I think of a new food, I really want it, then I think of another food, and move on to obsessing over that one. I've definitely noticed slowing down in the last week. It's been a bit more difficult to bend over to pick things up. Getting close to that third trimester!
GTKY: What is your go to way to cope with stress? I really like to read, but don't always have the time to do that when stressed. Talking things through with friends or DH usually helps me. Making lists when I feel overwhelmed with tasks- just to get it out of my head and I don't feel like I'm losing track of everything. I do also love a good massage or pedicure. Thanks goodness for prenatal massage prescriptions and insurance covering most of the cost- I'm taking full advantage during this pregnancy! I highly recommend talking to your OB or midwife about getting a prescription for massage if your insurance covers it!
Rants/Raves/Questions? not looking forward to the 3hr GT tomorrow.
Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? I've noticed that my feet have been swelling recently, whether I'm sitting down or standing up. Keeping them elevated seems to relieve it. Just hoping its normal pregnancy woes and nothing more.
GTKY: What is your go to way to cope with stress? hmm... Probably get a pedicure

Upcoming appointments? I had one today. Today was the first day I met with a midwife and not an OB. (My practice has both and whoever is on call when you go into labor is who you get) She was much nicer than any of the OB's I have been seeing.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I have some numbness in my left thigh that comes and goes, but this happened with all of my pregnancies, and usually goes away a few months PP, it's just annoying.
@swhiddon33 I got a TDAP when I was pregnant with DD, and I believe I will get it again this time.
Symptoms/Cravings/Aversion? I want to eat everything. I feel like I eat and eat then 10 minutes later I am starving again.
GTKY: What is your go to way to cope with stress? I usually take a deep breath and pray. I can get myself worked up and that seems to help. I also enjoy a nice warm bath especially if the kids were getting on my nerves that day.
What size is baby? Eggplant...my belly feels much bigger than that.
Upcoming appointments? Two weeks. Just had my glucose test last week and didn't hear back so I'm guessing that's a good thing. Or my doc's office is backed up.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Work is so stressful right now. It hurts pretty bad to get out of bed now and sleeping is not enjoyable. Waaaah.
Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? I'm finding DH to make me highly irritable lately. I don't know what my deal is.
GTKY: What is your go to way to cope with stress? Writing, reading, Netflix binge - portlandia can take me out of most slumps - ranting to my sis/mom/friends. Cuddles with DH if he's not stressed. Cardio, although not lately. Wine + Netflix when I'm not preggo.
@cayaylonglegs So, my Ovia app (sorry Bump! I'm a lover of all apps!) gave me some clarification on this coconut business. Apparently our grocery store coconuts are not even close to the size of a natural, tropical one. Think two put together. Which actually IS more comparable to an roller skate or something.
This info did three things to me.
1) Wow me at the size. 2) Depress me that I've evidently never been somewhere awesome enough to see a real coconut. 3) Make me hungry. Obviously.

This info did three things to me.
1) Wow me at the size.
2) Depress me that I've evidently never been somewhere awesome enough to see a real coconut.
3) Make me hungry. Obviously.
