Ugh I worked at Starbucks for several years in college and people went nuts over them! They're not even that great! It doesn't taste like pumpkin and it is too sickeningly sweet.
Good thing you posted early since I have a few unpopular opinions that have been brewing all week.
I really dislike man buns on guys. Definitely do not find it attractive. Good thing DH is handsomely bald
Also gets on my nerves when people say oh once you have kids your life is over, you will not get to travel, do fun things, etc. I have a friend who backpacked through Europe with her six month old. Others bike, hike, camp etc.
I also don't like pumkin pie, or any kind of pie, unless I make them myself because most people add too much sugar!
Hilarious! Although i can't get on board with all the PSL haters. They are the best thing ever! Got a decaf yesterday and it was delish. Honestly I dislike just about every other Starbucks drink. I can tolerate the caramel macchiato but the vanilla latte is gross.
I'm not a fan of direct sales. I will go out of my way to support friends when I can if there is a product I need/want or by looking to them when buying gifts around the holidays, but I am constantly bombarded with unsolicited offers to join teams (not sure if it's bc I'm a SAHM or what) and it gets a little irksome always having to turn someone down when I didn't ask for the 'opportunity' to be a coach or sell a product in the first place.
@Dannylion24 100% agree with you. I think about leaving FB all the time for this reason. Actually, the only reason I stay is my old BMB FB group. No, I do not want your nails or leggings or overly priced books or juice meals or whatever.
I can't think of my own UO. I'll have to come back!

The idea of drinking during pregnancy makes me ragey. I dont quite understand why you cant skip wine/beer etc... for a few months.
I grew up as a foster kid. I saw SO many babies with addiction and health issues because their parents drank, did drugs, etc... I know having a glass of something here and there wont cause said baby to be addicted but why risk anything. It just honestly blows my mind.

@HarryPotterandCats I'm with you on that one. I didn't know my husbands cousin when she was pregnant with her first, but she was about 5 months pregnant when she got married and I heard that she got totally smashed at her wedding. Really?!? And then she wonders why she had to spend a month in the hospital before her child was born 2 months early. Then when she was pregnant with her second (I was around to witness this one), she was constantly having a class of champagne at family get togethers and justifying that at least it wasn't hard alcohol. Thankfully, both kids are ok, but...
School busses on the highway. I can't stand it!!!! They drive 40 miles an hour in all lanes, change lanes without looking and screw up traffic. I have to deal with them to and from work everyday. It's awful!

When I went to Europe it blew my mind because so many people smoke everywhere that is outdoors. They don't care if they blow the smoke on your face as you walk by. What's worse they smoke next to pregnant women and kids and nobody seemed to care!
I live in Portland, OR and we have a huge homeless/drug problem right now. I am so sick of homeless people. They come into our yards and steal things, go through our cars, and I can't even take my kid to the park because they took it over and there are drugs and syringes everywhere. I am in a pregnant mama rage wanting to protect my kids and I just want to start beating on people with baseball bats (kind of joking/also really pregnant). We have so many resources for homeless people but they would rather be in the streets doing drugs so I don't even feel bad for them. I'm like ok I'll work and be pregnant and pay my taxes and go ahead and just sit on your butt all day, I'll pay for everything you do and while you're at it go ahead and steal my stuff. People in Portland are so tolerant of all this, it drives me crazy! I gotta get out of here. Ok rant over, glad I found this thread
To go off of @BecNJake, I know it might be mean. I know there are people who truly fall on tough times. But I also just don't feel bad for the homeless that would rather be in the streets and doing drugs instead of seeking help and bettering their life. Everyone thinks I'm mean because I no longer give change/money to homeless people anymore. I offered a guy my leftover container and he berated me for giving him my leftovers instead of a whole meal....really....??
@BecNJake I live right outside of Portland, and it's driving me crazy too! I live in a super small family friendly neighborhood, and we even have some homeless that live in the woods, and go through all of our stuff. I honestly feel so bad for those who are down on their luck.. but these people are doing drugs, and wont even accept food.. they just want money.
Apparently the UO is actually liking PSLs. So I'll be that person. Love them. But I understand the hate because I used to despise them. Yay for changing taste buds! But it's still too hot for them. It needs to be ACTUAL FALL to be fully enjoyed.
@mamabear2015 same! If you like iced coffee try 1 pump pumpkin spice with 2 pumps vanilla (or a variation on that depending how strong you like he flavour) and it's sooo good!!

Yes, I should say I there are plenty of homeless people in Portland who are just down on their luck. I do feel bad for them. They certainly aren't the ones I'm complaining about. It sounds like you know the problem well also, sorry you're dealing with it too!
I'm not a fan of the PSL's either, but I could drink my weight in peppermint mochas.
I'm sick to death of all things politics. Can we just vote and get this over with already?
I went to starbucks and drank a peppermint mocha on the way to my Dr appt today! it was so good!
when I was pregnant with DD those were my favorite!!! We lived in the tundra then though so I wonder if I'll get the itch to drink one when its so hot.
I know its a day late, but my UOT goes along with this... Naloxone. You are telling me that a junkie can OD 10 times, and we still save their life FOR FREE, but a child's family cant afford the life-saving Epi-Pen for their allergy? This makes me crazy. I do benefits for my company, and I have a couple employees tell me they have to pick between paying a bill that month, or the Epi-Pen for their child because of our high-deductible plan. This makes me sick.
I'm not saying that Naloxone doesn't have its benefits, but it makes me so mad that "we" (society/government) allow addicts to OD time and time again without any type of discourse.
A little late, but whatever. I'm so over how "competitive" everything has become. You can't just pick up a new sport in elementary school any more, you have to start playing as a toddler to have a chance to make it on the team... but then everyone gets a trophy anyway.
@pammasu0909 this gives me anxiety. I see the hours that very young kids put into their sport and feel that it's a bit ridiculous. I also know families that play travel sports and spend many weekends away so that their 7 year olds can play their sport. I can't imagine the expense. And the fact that they are often dragging other children in the family along to a crazy number of practices or a hockey tournament out of town, etc.
I started drinking coffee again, one grande a day... and I told the doctor this morning with a worried/shameful look and she tilted her head to the side and told me not to even remotely worry about that cup of coffee. LOL I shall continue drinking my iced coffee... haha!
Right? I'm so sick of all the commercials and interviews and bashing. It's two toddlers running for president, y'all, with a couple others tossed in for the hell of it. Let's just vote and move on with our lives.
@rachelmiller03 my brother is a firefighter.. he has saved many lives of those who OD.. they are mostly ungrateful and many have told my brother it's his fault they OD bc they've always had someone save them. I'd much rather those resources go to giving epi pens to kids!
Re: Unpopular Opinions Thursday
Another PSL hater here! Although to be fair, I don't like coffee either so... Otherwise I love pumpkin bread and pumpkin pie.
