September FET Buddies!

Re: September FET Buddies!

  • @wifeinraleigh28 I have two more frosties.  i keep thinking my progesterone must have been off.  I switched from pio to crinone 2 days pt. And I didn't trust the crinone...I am not sure why it was switched before the beta.  I need to not go crazy though.  I can't fix it now.

  • @bells52000 I'm so sorry, that is heartbreaking. Sending hugs to you! It was such an unexpected level of sadness that hit me last month and I too am amazed by those ladies who have been on this roller coasters several times. Take some time for yourself these next few times!

  • Thank you everyone.  I really appreciate the support. The whole thing just sucks. I feel like every time the odds were against me, we got through it and once the re said we had a good chance, it flipped on us.  I cried all day.  Went out, cried in the car, cried at the restaurant, cried on the way home, cried walking the dog...uggh.

  • @bells5200 cry all you want, sometimes it's such a good release. Allow yourself to feel and just let it out. I feel like the TWW is even worse during IVF Bc you KNOW an embryo was transfered vs IUI where there's a lot more unknown. And during the TWW we have so much hope.

Just remember you are an incredibly strong, fearless, bad a$$ woman (all you ladies are!) Most individuals would turn and run when faced with what we have to deal with and we take it head on, even knowing that disappointment may be a possibility. I am so lucky to have you all and am humbled and in awe of the support both given and received on here.
  • @mtpbadger that was so well said!!!
  • @bells52000 just curious, did you guys do testing on the embryos before FET?

  • Yep.  It was a PGS tested 5ab girl. So we were really hopeful. I keep thinking it was the progesterone...but really just looking for a reason when I don't have one.  picking up the pieces today.  We will try and transfer another when we get the go ahead.

Its been strange. My husband and I hadnt settled on a name.  Talked about it all the time, but would strike the name for one reason or another.  I am really glad because I think I would have been even more upset if she was named.

  • @bells52000 I'm so sorry about your test results.  Go easy on yourself and cry as much as needed!

Sorry I've been MIA ladies, but I have been on vacation with limited access to email. Still fuming at my doctor's office about my FET screw up.  No clue about my new FET date,  it it won't be Thursday.

I read some comments about it being difficult on these threads for folks to read about the seemingly elusive BFPs (makes complete sense).  How would you ladies feel about keeping BFP announcements to the beta testing thread and keep this for discussing FET or support through BFNs/CPS?  I could be completely off base, but I imagine that might help many here?  I figure to go through a FET, most here have probably just come off a fresh IVF cycle.  IF is so draining and maybe this approach could help the group?  I love this little group!  I hope you are all well and many get that BFP!
  • @Elyse1384 i know exactly what you are going through, my clinic did the same thing with my insurance paperwork but they can hold you on the estrace for two weeks which is what ended up happening to me my last FET.  this time i have been calling making sure they are all over it so hopefully my response comes by like Tuesday.

i have been MIA for what feels like forever but the wedding is officially over my sister is married so back to the IF struggle.  for the past week-week and a half i have felt very numb emotionally and cant figure it out, dont know if its not going to acupuncture for 3 weeks now, being in FET limbo, the wedding, the hormones....it sucks i am gaining weight which i cant really afford to do, no motivation and i have no patience for anything.

  • @Elyse1384 I completely see your point about keeping the BFP announcements to the beta testing threads, but I would also like to offer an alternative opinion. We come to this board to get but also give support, and that includes support through the good times and the bad times.  I personally want to celebrate with the ladies in this group who get BFPs and also grieve with those who don't.  We are all dealing with this exhausting IF struggle and the BFPs provide me with hope.  Does anyone else feel this way?

  • @wifeinraleigh28 I agree with you. Especially since this group is a smaller number of ladies, I feel like we have a really good thing going and want to see all of you succeed. I do see where you are coming from though @elyse1384 and maybe we can minimize some of it by not posting ultrasound pics here and once you have posted about successful beta(s) keeping those posts to a minimum. We all know that even with a positive beta anything can happen and I want to be sure that we can support those that need it and still be up to speed on what is going on.

AFM - transfer tomorrow at 2.30 EST!! Have to be at the clinic by 2pm and it can be up to an hour drive (darn traffic) so I'll be leaving work at noon, meeting DH at home and then driving there. Not sure if I'll take Tuesday off yet but am thinking of taking Wednesday off. I work in an outbase office and Wednesday I'm required to go into the main office and it is such a toxic environment and so stressful that I think it's best for me to call in sick that day to keep as relaxed as possible.
  • @wifeinraleigh28 I agree.  It's sort of strange knowing such intimate details of what we are all going through and then we don't post the end result.  BFP's give me hope that some day that will be me! I think it's important to celebrate success since that is all of our end result.  @mtpbadger I think your idea is a great happy medium!

I agree with @wifeinraleigh28 too. I have been in the BFN with my low AMH group of ladies and I was the ONLY woman who got BFN out of say 10 ladies and as much as it hurt me and that I wasn't along for the BFP ride,,, I was so thrilled for them and it gave me more motivation and more hope. Even if I get a BFN on Thursday of course I'm going to be devasted because I've been through so much in this past year that it's gonna be really sad. We have decided if it is negative that we will adopt and maybe try our last IVF cycle in a year. Just know @bells52000 you are not alone. I'll be 37 in four months and although I'm a few years behind you I get it. I have low AMH, one ovary only which is DOR, with scar tissue blocking my ovary and tube and I ovulate at 7 days not 12-14. My chances are pretty shitty. Praying that you get stronger and more determined to get a go on one more round. Xoxo

Im slightly freaking out because I forgot to take my suppository this morning, and now I'm away from home. I won't be back until about 5-6pm tonight. I can take it then, but then I have a second one to take as well! I can take that one around midnight.  One late pill shouldn't really throw me off that much... Right??? Ugh.

At the end of the day this is such a supportive little group and I want to support everyone through rain and shine, I'm genuinely cheering for you all!!!

@mtpbadger Goodluck for transfer tomorrow!! This is an exciting week for lots of us!!!

what are everyone's thoughts on acupuncture? Are any of you doing it at the moment?
  • @c-k I did acupuncture during my last cycle and while I enjoyed it, it just got too expensive and a little stressful trying to get to appointments after work. For me there were also no noticible benefits regarding the cycle so I'm just trying to be as normal as possible this round. I did like having a time that I could just relax, sometimes nap, etc. but it just wasn't worth it for me to continue.
  • @mtpbadger sending sticky thoughts your way for tomorrow!!

  • I like to see the positives! I think in general once someone posts a few comments after their positive then it might be best to post the extra details on a pregnancy board, but overall I love the positives.  Gives me hope.

Today I feel a whole lot better. Went Seaglass hunting, saw two of my my sisters, went for a swim, bought a new dress...overall it was as good of a day as it could have been considering the crappy circumstances.

My my husband and I chatted that we will def try again with another frosty. We have a cruise planned in July and now I will get to go on it...so trying to find the rainbow through the storm.

Good luck tomorrow @mtpbadger! It is really a cool moment!

@mtpbadger Best of luck tomorrow, hope all goes smoothly!

@C-k I've been going to acupuncture since before my last transfer and I love it. Part of it may have to do with how sweet and supportive my lady is. She is the best. I find it very relaxing and often have a great 45 minute nap. She specializes in fertility treatment, so I think it is well worth finding one that does.
  • @mtpbadger The 2ww is awful! Too bad they couldn’t do at least 10 days! FX for you! Do you plan to test at home?
@wifeinraleigh28 I’m so laughing at your DH saying he didn’t like that sentence! haha. I’m glad the PIO is going well so far! One step closer :)
@bells52000 I’m so sorry it didn’t work out. I know how disappointed you are. Hugs.
@APM_SLP When I was on the inserts I would keep a few in my purse just in case I forgot or ended up staying over late unexpectedly. I know that doesn’t help you now but for next time. :)

Afm - I'm feeling great! No hint of nausea or exhaustion. Missing my daily rum with supper though (and also missing my daily run!). I'm so busy with my favourite month of the year that I'm not even symptom spotting :O

@FatPony Awesome to be distracted and busy during the TWW!  One more week to go!

@bells52000 Sounds like you had a wonderful Sunday (I also don't know what seaglass hunting is!).  It's so good to see that you are looking on the bright side and preparing for your next transfer.  Hugs!!

Ladies, I need some PIO tips (or maybe just validation). The actual shot is a piece of cake (at least for me, DH has to push pretty hard on the plunger and isn't loving that). I barely even feel anything when he's administering it. But my ass muscles HURT. So far we've done one on each side. The side we did yesterday hurts more than the side from Saturday, but the Saturday side is definitely still tender and it's freaking me out to have to do that side again in the morning. The muscles are just really sore and tender to the touch, which is making it so hard for me to get comfortable in bed (hence why I'm up at 4am), move around, etc. Anyone else experiencing this? I'm getting nervous thinking about how I have several more weeks of this and I'm in this much pain after one shot per side!

Married my best friend in 2013 (I was 33), After 1.5yrs of TTC got my first BFP naturally on 2/7/15 but ended in DNC on 4/14/15, not viable. In 2015 I was 35...Found out I had only one working ovary, which was DOR, with scar tissue and I ovulated at 7 days, with a small cervix opening and a tilted uterus... Needing an RE was a must.....IUI#1 Sept 2015,,, BFN IUI#2 Oct 2015,,,BFN IUI#3 Dec 2015,,BFN IVF#1 2/1/16- BFN IVF# on 3/29/16 retrieval only - 1 healthy chromosome tested embryo. IVF#3 retrieval 4/23/16- 0 healthy embryos. IVF#4 retrieval 6/17/16- 1 healthy embryo. FET#1-Transferred Both Healthy Embryos on 9/6/16 BFP!! 9/15/16 Beta 22.3, 9/17/16 Beta 60.5 & 9/19/16 Beta 195! 1st US on 9/23/16, only 1 Gast Sac & Yolk Sac found, US 9/30/16 US 6wk 1day saw and heard Heartbeat 120bpm!! EDD 5/25/2017 Had a healthy baby girl via CSection on 5/18/17 8lbs 15oz. Then four months later got pregnant naturally and had a healthy baby boy on 6/13/18 7lbs 6oz (at age 38). Needless to say, anything is possible! I'm keeping my signature open so it gives someone out there hope that anything is possible. Message me if you ever have any questions or just need someone to talk to. DON'T GIVE UP!

  • I had the soreness, and some nasty bruising.  The bruising was on one side only...it would bleed and bruise. The other side was generally just tender and sore. On the bruise side we figured out that if we went up a little higher it would work better.  Maybe check with your nurse for a broader circle? i think everyone finds the way that works best for them, but I would put the pio in a warm water bath for a minute to warm it up.  Then load the shot.  I would ice my butt for about a minute just before the shot, after the shot I would walk the dog for a half hour, then half hour on a heating pad.  No lumps.  That said I stopped shots 10 days ago and it is still a tiny bit tender on one side.
    Me: 41  DH: 44  DD: 9
    IVF: ER 7/16 40 follies, 23 eggs, 19 mature,
    12 fert w/icsi, 6 blasts, 3 PGS norm, 1 unknown.

    FET 2: 11/15/16 transferred 1 CP again!
    FET 3: TBD

  • Thanks everyone for the well wishes today!! I'm starting to get excited/nervous! Also trying to keep my emotions and expectations in check.

@bells52000 I'm glad to hear you are feeling better. Seaglass hunting is one of my favorite things, it can be so relaxing! We used to go every summer when we visited my grandparents on the Long Island sound.

@tusername I am dreading the TWW! I'm trying not to think about it, not obsess over every "symptom" and will not be testing at home. I didn't test last FET and I found it much better. I've had two CP's in the past from IUI's and seeing the positive on the HPT and then getting such a low number was just too hard to handle. I'd rather be ignorantly blissful thinking I'm pregnant until I get the call.

@fatpony I had to LOL at your "We hunt Gophers" comment. My college mascot was a Badger and the MN Gophers were our biggest rivalry in football so we would also say we were going hunting for gophers. If you tell me you also hunt badgers, I will pretend like I never read it, lol!

@wifeinraleigh28 for PIO, I ice before hand and keep the PIO in my bra to warm it up at the same time (so about 2-10 minutes, depending on how motivated I am). After DH injects, I have him massage the area for 1-2 minutes and then will walk around, do squats, lunges, etc for about 10 minutes. I found this really helps with the soreness. My right side is also always more sore than my left my right side, I was always left with a HUGE bruise, huge knot, and extreme soreness. Since I've started doing that side myself, I have a little bruising but less soreness. I think I might have more nerves on one side than the other? I've also found that going up a little higher helps.

@lsatturo126 that is so exciting!!! Did you end up waking up DH to tell him? I don't think I would have been able to wait! Hopefully the next three days fly by for you!!

  • @mtpbadger damn right I woke him up! Lol haha his eyes were small and then he saw my smile and the test in my hand and he's like... Really?? I'm like yeah daddy! Lol then he's like now we wait to see how many stuck  and then passed out lol.

Fyi ladies who are doing or going to be doing PIO shots I highly highly recommend this video. It pinches slightly sometimes not at all but I never get red, never get irritated just a little pain like as if I did 50 squats but now being on it for almost two weeks it does get easier. https://youtu.be/A-EY_4P67Hs  I promise you it's the best video by far! And let your partner watch if they are the ones doing it!

I went in this morning for my second lining check and I'm still measuring at 13.  I know 13 is good but I'm bummed it hasn't really grown since last week.  They might not let me wait till the 23rd for a transfer which is a bummer because I already have that day off but oh well, I'm happy to even be moving forward!

  • Also, for those wondering, sea glass is really neat! It's just glass that has been tossed around in the sea for a long time, making it appear more opaque and matte. Depending on where you are, you could find some on the shore.
