What size is baby? Two plates of beignets (OMG nom!)
Upcoming appointments? Weekly appointment from here on out on Tuesdays. They're going to do the strep test this week, and I feel like I should make a birth plan.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Four weeks left seems like no time! I still have so much to get done before Bean comes, it's really time to kick it into high gear. Especially because I have this looming feeling that I won't make it until October.
Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? My feet are giant and have taken on a life of their own. I haven't tied my shoes for the last two weeks and I keep going back and forth on when should be my last day working. Originally I was going to work until Bean came, but with how much my feet hurt and barely bring able to fit into shoes, I'm thinking either Sept 23rd or 30th. It would be nice to have the extra time to really get the house in order. There's still some boxes we haven't unpacked and then I can get things organized with a better routine beforehand.
GTKY: Are you having anyone come stay and help out at home after the baby comes? All three of the grandmother's have offered to come stay with us for a few weeks, but I don't know if I want that. They totally mean well and I appreciate their help, but a lot of the unwarranted advice and/or comments are bound to make my blood boil. I'm thinking about asking if they can come for a day or two, maybe just an evening to help with dinner, then they're still helping and I still keep my sanity intact.
How many weeks? 36 weeks What size is baby? Head of romaine lettuce Upcoming appointments? Monday just for a regular check up. My strep B was negative! Yay! Rants/Raves/Questions? I still have things I need to get and with my cerclage coming out in 2 weeks, I'm starting to get panicked. I can't even find my overnight bag to pack for the hospital. Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? Nothing new. GTKY: Are you having anyone come stay and help out at home after the baby comes? My husband is taking his 3 weeks of vacation off to help and then my mom lives next door, so she can help after that if I need it.
Upcoming appointments? Wednesday for a BPP, NST and weekly appointment.
Rants/Raves/Questions? A woman who watched my son last summer asked if she could do a maternity shoot with me so she could build her portfolio. I'm happy because I don't have any good photos of me pregnant (from either of my pregnancies, really), but I'm also a little nervous since I'll be almost 38 weeks by then. I'm just hoping I'm still pregnant.
Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? Cramps and pain when I walk more than a few blocks. Lots of contractions. Some nausea, especially if I drink a lot of water.
GTKY: Are you having anyone come stay and help out at home after the baby comes? My mother-in-law is coming two weeks before my due date to help with my two-year-old (and to watch him while I'm in the hospital). I'm really glad she's coming. I'm not sure what we'd do without her. (Right now, my biggest fear is that I'm going to go into labor in the next two weeks and I'll be alone in the hospital room when I give birth because we won't be able to find someone to take my son.)
Upcoming appointments? Regular check-up this week.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Mentally it feels good to be nearing the end. I was hardcore nesting last weekend and it felt good to make progress on the nursery etc. My rant is that I am SO TIRED of people telling me how big I am. I know i shouldn't care, but when it happens a million times a day, it gets a tad taxing.
Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? Tired, pelvic pain, lightning crotch...the usual. It is becoming harder and harder to sleep.
GTKY: Are you having anyone come stay and help out at home after the baby comes? Hell no. @nataliemaephotography I feel your pain. Every family is different but my mother, while a lovely woman, is not helpful. She would need to be waited on and is full of unwanted advice. She was at my house when I came home, stayed for a bit that day and left and that was perfect. She would have driven me nuts.
With that said, I am lucky to have my husband home with me for the length of my maternity leave, so I will have someone else there to help.

How many weeks? 36 What size is baby? Papaya Upcoming appointments? Weekly, at this point. Rants/Raves/Questions? I feel like I'm ready at home for him to come, but there are SO many loose ends at work. It's hard because I'm dealing with normal back to school stuff, but also having to prepare for a sub at the same time. I come home exhausted every day because I'm using every spare minute to prep. Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? Just hot and swollen. And it's harder and harder to get up or change positions. GTKY: Are you having anyone come stay and help out at home after the baby comes? My husband is taking 2 weeks from work. Other than that, no one will be staying, but my mom is in town, so she will come whenever I ask. His parents and step parents will come to visit, but they're not staying with us.
What size is baby? A footlong sub. And hopefully getting niiiiiice and chubby as the days go on. I love chunky babes!
Upcoming appointments? Next one is on Tuesday, then every week from now on.
Rants/Raves/Questions? @nataliemaephotography I feel the opposite...4 weeks feels like an eternity away! I remember lurking other boards when I was in my first tri misery and they were complaining at how much time they had left when they were 35+ weeks and I internally rolled my eyes. Now that I'm here, I totally feel the same way. Just so incredibly over being this large and uncomfortable. I also have a feeling I'll go late again this time.
Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? Caramel apples. OMG, it's bad.My grocery store just started selling them a week or two ago. I've had more than I care to admit. Also, I feel pathetic but even walking around for long periods of time makes me super tired. My belly is so large and heavy, and it puts pressure on my back. I'm trying to take it easy while simultaneously making the most of these last weeks with my daughter. Not an easy task.
GTKY: Are you having anyone come stay and help out at home after the baby comes? Not having anyone come to specifically help with the baby, but my parents are coming to watch dd while we're in the hospital, and my sister should be in town then too. They won't stay with us once we come home, but I'm guessing they'll be around quite a bit, which will be a big help. And my husband will be home for 2 weeks. Shit's gonna get really real once he goes back to work. I don't know how I'll manage a 3 year old and a baby, but I'm sure I'll figure it out real quick! My in-laws are coming in town at some point, but H and I have already talked about them staying elsewhere. I really don't want to have to entertain/cook for other people when I have a newborn.
What size is baby? Pineapple. But as of last Tuesday's growth scan at 34wk3days, 24th percentile (~4 lbs 11oz) Upcoming appointments? Another growth scan at 37+3 and next OB at 36+6. Haven't made the move to once/week. Not that I'm complaining!
Rants/Raves/Questions? Nursery is painted and most clothes are washed, organized, and put away.
Is anyone NOT doing baby basics courses? I feel like I have no time/extra money to do them, but I also feel like a naive fool thinking I can "wing it." I'm a FTM.
Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? sore hip on one side is making walking painful. Craving ice cream and cereal. Aversions- actual meals with balanced nutrients and macros (proteins what are those?)
GTKY: Are you having anyone come stay and help out at home after the baby comes? my parents! Thank goodness. They are giving DH and I some bonding time alone with the baby but then heading out to stay for a month. My dad will be an awesome help around the house and garden ( we just bought a new place and moved in may). And my mom is awesome at helping around te house (laundry, tidying, meals) and seems to be capable of holding grandbabies for however long is required of her. Super grandma! DH's family will visit, but only on short term so we have no set plans. We only have 2 bedrooms, so my parents will be staying in the nursery/guest room while baby rooms in with us.
@chriscasey33 we are not. They covered a few basic things at our hospital tour, but we are both pretty experienced with babies- I think we will be okay. Famous last words, right?
@ashleyp625 thanks for te response! I wish I could say I'm experienced with babies! DH definitely has more experience than me, but I'm totally clueless. I do have a good local support system and two bffs who just had kiddos. So I feel like I have resources to reach out to. And I know the old adage "all babies are different." I just don't know if I'm setting myself up for a disastrous start. And if I should suck it up and fork over the $. It's not a ton but we're scraping to provide an extended maternity leave for myself.
@chriscasey33 I did one last pregnancy and in reality the only things I learned were how to swaddle and how to give a bath to a newborn. Google will help you just fine there. The other things they covered were what the newborn may look like when born and various things to watch like the soft spot etc. you can learn all of that from a baby book, but the reality is your instincts are better than any class/book. If you want s good book to check out, Baby 411 is the best.

@socks2819 thanks for the book reco! I was actually looking some up today because I'm thinking I going that route. I think doing something/anything will help ease my new mom anxiety, and I'm a natural born reader/researcher, so this seems a logical solution.
@chriscasey33 It will be the best $12 you have ever spent! I am a researcher too and I loved that book as a reference when I felt like I had no clue what I was doing.

Rants/Raves/Questions? Nesting has been in overdrive I'm pooped!
Symptoms/Cravings/Aversions? Swelling/Tired - Just want carbs - No aversions
GTKY: Are you having anyone come stay and help out at home after the baby comes? Yes, since I will have a repeat csection, it will be my hubby 1st week, mother in law 2nd week, and my mom the 3rd week since I have a toddler as well.
