Weekend Pregnancy Chatter 9/9

This is the weekend chatter thread to... you know... talk about pregnancy and stuff. Wondering what everybody's opinion on doctors vs midwifes vs doulas? Find a good cure for something that's been ailing you?  Just had one of those "holy smokes I'm GROWING a HUMAN like it's a potted plant or something, but INSIDE MY BODY" moments?  Have a rando ask when the baby is due and you're like, "Wait, I'm not even showing yet, not sure if I should be polite or rude at this point"?   Whatever comments or stories or questions or etcetera you got that don't quite fit into the other organizational threads, this is probably the spot.

Re: Weekend Pregnancy Chatter 9/9

  • So I really want to wear this for Halloween, but going by last pregnancy, I'm pretty sure I still won't have an obvious enough bump to make it cute and not weird: https://www.etsy.com/listing/165214364/halloween-skeleton-shirt-halloween

    Boo.

@ladameperdue I want to do one similar to that! Bump or not, the point will come across that you are pregnant. I've also seen couple shirts like this where the guys shirt has pizza and beer instead of a baby. And I've been thinking of going into an early gender scan at a center near me and then announcing the gender with the shirt, either a pink bow or a blue bow tie. But I still have to convince DH...

ETA: I also saw a really cute couples costume where DH dresses up as a milkman and the lady dressed up as a "housewife." And then it's like she got impregnated by the milkman. But I feel like you have to have a super obvious bump to make that one cute.

  • My biggest problem right now is the anxiety!!! I'll spend most of my days terrified I'll go in for my next us this Thursday and one of the babies won't be ok. It took me so long to progress the twins thing but now I'm so excited about I'll be crushed if something goes wrong. I struggle with anxiety most of my life but this is a new kind of hell. Thursday cannot get here fast enough!!

  • We did the milkman/housewife costume when I was pregnant with DS! Not sure about this year...

  • I was 8 months along last Halloween and I was a basketball! DD1 was a cheerleader! We got a lot of compliments!
  • Putting on a pair of LulaRoe leggings for the first time has me all....
Seriously though, these things are a preggos dream!! Believe the hype ladies  Happy Weekend everyone!
  • I can't even begin on my dreams. I don't even know where my brain comes up with all of this, but it's like I'm living a different life every night. The most interesting thing to me is that my twin sister is almost always in my dreams.

  • I can't find the thread where we were talking about the baking soda test. Well, I did it. It didn't do anything until I swirled the cup a bit and then it lightly foamed...??? Boy? Girl? The world may never know...

  • @cafedisco Hahahahaha!!!! You are making me laugh so hard over here!

I'm one of those "crazies" who would love to have twins, but I've already had an ultrasound and only found 1, so I'm not sure why I keep dreaming of multiples.

  • @KirstinH88 I had such vivid dreams of twins with DD that I was truly convinced it was happening.  I could get excited then, but now that we've survived the newborn phase, it's a terrifying thought!

  • @cafedisco MOMs are true savages. I couldn't imagine taking care of two newborns, especially if they didn't sleep/nurse at the same time...

  • I stopped being nauseous two days ago and I can't stop freaking out about it.  I keep trying to tell myself I'm probably fine but I literally can't turn my mind off, or stop googling things.

  • @aboxofchocolates some days I'm nauseous and some days I'm not. Be thankful for the quick break because it will probably be back! Try not to worry unless you have cramping or spotting. If you are super worried, call your doctor!

I was worried 2 weeks ago because all of the sudden I felt good, and even my breast tenderness was gone. I emailed my nurse who said just watch it for a day or two and let her know if more symptoms go away or if I have spotting. The next day everything was back!

    Thinking of you!
  • Love and hopeful thoughts to you!
  • I know it's not the weekend anymore, but to piggyback on my previous dream post, I now had a dream that I was having quints! My babies keep multiplying! Thank goodness I have an appt today and hopefully can reassure my brain that there is only 1 in there.
