Toddlers: 24 Months+

Does your DC have a ride on toy?

My mom wants to get DS a ride on toy for his birthday, and I have looked at them all and have no idea which one we want.  I'd like to have something we can push for now, and that he can ride himself when he gets a little older.  Any recs?

  • There are a few push toys that can also be turned into ride-on toys. I saw a few different kinds at Target. We have two other ride on toys besides our push toy but they are all for 18 months+ so DS can't really ride-on by himself just yet.

  • We have this one.  DD walks behind it.  Right now, she doesn't quite understand that she can push herself on it (when riding), but she has a ton of fun when DH pushes her on it.
  • My son has the Lightning McQueen ride on toy. He's 18 months old now and he still drags it around the house behind him and plays with all the sounds!

  • DD LOVES the ride-ons.  We just got her the stride-to-ride Lion.  She's not walking yet but flies around on the hardwood floors riding it.  I worry about her practicing walking with it b/c of the floors, though.

  • We have a couple.  One is a lion that the back flips up to push or down to ride on. DD LOVES it.  She can climb on it and sit on it herself now.
  • We have two...one is the Chicco (from BRU) that can be a rocker or a ride on (it's convertable).  The other one is an airplane from iPlay that DD LOVES.  It's got all sorts of gadgets and a propeller with lights on it.  It can be a little loud, but Anika just has a blast with it.
  • DS has a few, but he doesnt ride on them... he just pushes them around the house...

  • DS has the Tonka Scoot and Scoop.  It can be a push toy or a ride on.  He still uses it and now he loves to put the shapes where they belong on the seat

  • Yes DS received two for his first birthday. The best would be a convertible sit down to push walker.he like those the best. But since we just got him the FP rock and roll XL tricycle/ rocker that has and adult push handle and he  never uses the ride on much more.. If you get a ride on make sure it has an adult push handle your back will thank you later.

  • We have the FP stride-to-ride lion. DD hasn't mastered riding it by herself, but she loves climbing on it or having us push her around on it.

We also got her the FP rock roll 'n ride trike for her first birthday. It's nice that it has the long handle so we can push her, and DD loves it as long as she remembers to hold on!
