Now that I had a baby...I can't stand seeing clips of pregnancy/labor in movies or tv shows. I'm watching the preview for "This is Us," where Mandy Moore is pregnant (with twins apparently).
I legit said out loud, "you know nothing, Mandy Moore...nothing!" Watch I actually like the show once it starts. -_-
Man, this actually wasn't my original random thought...it slipped my mind once I saw preggo Mandy Moore.
I was up for a MOTN feeding when I saw the title of this old Dr Phil episode, "Are Moms Really That Busy?" so I recorded it. I finally got around to watching it and omg... It's mainly about this study that claims SAHMs have 30-40 hours of "leisure time" a week. The study was conducted by Dr. John Robinson and his definition of leisure time is any time youre not actively engaged in an activity (paid work, cleaning, etc). Some examples he gave of leisure time are getting a root canal, waiting for a tow truck without kids in the car, and driving/waiting in traffic. Sounds soooo relaxing.

Ugh, the preview for that show drives me nuts too, but I can almost guarantee I'll watch it. I have a serious tv addiction recently.
@AliKay20 and @Bookhousegirl what channel?? I have a love/hate with all pregnancy movies and shows now.
My random is the cost of daycare/school and what you get for the cost. I had to look at new places today since my return to work date got moved up and our daycare can't accommodate us.
One place was $240 and one was $295. They were on such opposite spectrums of what was offered. So crazy!
34 Mother of 4 year old and 2 Labs. Happily Married to my Hubs of 6 years.
- there's a diaper commercial (maybe huggies) where they are handing a new mom their baby right after delivery. The baby is completely clean. No matter how much they wipe that kid off immediately, there's no way it would be that clean without a bath. This commercial makes me ragey.
- I'm surprised at how few September babies we had on here. In my old bmb there was a good spread of kids born the month before, the month of, and the month after we were due. This time it was like half the babies were July babies and the rest were August with like 2 September babies.
@Curls919 I think it's Pampers? Idk but I totally agree. So over romanticizing parenthood on TV!!! Baby should be covered in a little bit of gunk at least.
Oh and I expect Mandy Moore's face to be somewhat swollen during labor or flabby jello belly after labor!!!
My original random came back to me: Have you all seen "Odd Mom Out?" It's on Bravo and my friend recommended I see it last week. Started last Friday and I am all caught up now. That show is hilarious!!! Highly recommend if anyone is interested in starting a show while on mat leave!!
Omg, the inaccuracy of childbirth on TV and movies gets me ragey. Wildly inaccurate. Like that Friends episode where Rachel doesn't know her baby is breech til she's pushing and STILL pushes baby out in like 5 min! That would never happen!
@AliKay20 I love Odd Mom Out! It's so funny. My favorite thing is how her in-laws scream "no bread!" at every restaurant.
Another good show for anyone looking to binge watch is "You're the Worst" on FX. The third season is just starting. I think it's one of the best shows on TV right now and I don't get why it isn't a bigger hit. But be warned, it's definitely "TV-MA" rated and can be pretty dark at times, also pretty raunchy at times.
Since TV is the topic right now, I'm currently watching Love At First Kiss and it's literally the most awkward thing I've ever watched but I can't look away!
Talking about tv, my favorite commercial is the one with the new baby and the dog. It has all the feels when they buy the dog a mane like the baby's favorite toy. Made me cry first time, darn hormones. Lol.
I'm wanting to print a few pictures of DS for his memories book. It's been forever since I've printed out photos though and last time I did it I was really disappointed in the quality. Any recommendations on where/which company to use to have pictures printed where the quality is good?
@ramoseecology I've always printed photos at Costco. For the price, the quality is pretty high. I haven't been able to find another place that prints photos as well as Costco for as low a price. (Granted, you pay for the membership but...)
@ramoseecology we use SAMs Club for our photos. If you don't have a membership at SAMs or Costco then probably cvs or Walgreens.
@sbelle474. That commercial makes me feel so guilty for the lack of attention our furbabies get. So they generally get a treat or some cuddle time when i see it lol.

I saw this on GMA a few days ago and thought it was pretty cool and reasonably priced. Made in America, turn all your Instagram and social media pictures into a picture book.

I have a hard time with a lot of commercials--I was a marketing major in college, and took several advertising classes. I always tell DH which type of advertising it is...emotional, sexual, jingle, etc. and that's probably really annoying to him.

Someone stole my Amazon order of diapers from my door today! WTF?! They also took a second package. I know for sure the boxes were there because I saw them as I drove away on an errand and I returned an hour later.
This makes me mad for two reasons. 1. I have to go to a store and buy more. 2. Now I don't feel as safe at my house.
@KJ1416 that is messed up!! Ugh, time to install a camera! I think someone caught the thief who stole packages outside from pple's houses bc they had a camera. It's probably easier said than done! If we have a house we own one day, I'm def going to look into getting one installed. Ughhh sorry it happened to you.
I miss everyone here! We don't have internet at home and the app sucks so I haven't been on in a while. I finally got to get on today and have been catching up for over an hour now.
I'm trying to become more involved on base to prep myself when my husband comes home and we are stationed somewhere. Anyway, I went to a new parent support group this morning. One of the mothers was speaking about how her labor was calm and peaceful also how greatful she was breastfeeding is going so well and her LO sleeps majority of the night. I dodnt mean to but I blurted out "Oh, blow it out your ass" I thought it was an inside thought, but it was not. I immediately apologized then whispered I'm not sorry. Lol is how I'll make friends when we move next month.
Random fashion question - are tall / riding boots still in style? I've worn them a lot over the last few last years with leggings, jeans, and dresses, esp to work. I just bought another pair and was all excited about them, but also work in a pretty trendy industry so now I'm second guessing? I also have several pairs of booties, which seem to be much more on trend, but think that some things look better with the tall boots.

I love love tall boots!! I'm not too sure about up to date fashion but I'd say they the tall ones are always in. I'm in the country in Georgia so we wear them all the time and personally I think the booties go good with tights or a nice skirt.
@MrsEWilson I hate it as well whensome women start talking about how birth and all is just a smooth sail when in reality i know it was not a walk in the park i just want to slap them hahaha
