  • Good morning ladies! Big week for me this week. Have my anatomy scan today, so sitting on pins and needles until this afternoon. Nervous as usual and praying all looks good.

QOTW - This summer has been filled with so many exciting memories, mostly all of them being pregnancy related. My most memorable though goes back to late spring when we got that call that our transfer worked and I was pregnant. This summer we were fortunate enough to share the news with our families and friends, and each of those reveals will hold a special place in my heart. Non-pregnancy related memories have been traveling and exploring new places with my husband. I love fall, it's my favorite season. I'm just looking forward to hitting the 3rd trimester, having a baby shower and in general prepping for baby.

  • @Tulips29 - Good luck today! Enjoy every minute of getting to see all of the little details about baby!

QOTW - It's been so nice having time to just enjoy being pregnant over the summer. All of the things from announcing to getting registry together to feeling baby move for the first times have been pretty great. I love the fall so I'm excited for it to finally cool down here. It will be fun to have our shower and get ready for the holidays so I'm looking forward to that. Our house should be finished by November so it's really hard to begin nesting when I have to pack up our apartment and haven't really felt like I could start thinking about what to do with our nursery.

  • Best memory of summer hmm the camping trip I went on with my friends. It will def be different next year. We go ever summer to lake George Ny and I'm hoping we can take the girls next year and rent a house
  • Favorite pregnancy memory has been getting to tell our parents and close friends for sure. And just in general watching my bump and Wee grow! Favorite non-pregnancy was getting to meet and spend a long weekend with a very good friend from World of Warcraft.
Next weekend we will go down to Santa Fe for their Renaissance Festival where DH and I play Fall Faeries, so that's one of my favorite parts of Fall. :) I can't wait for Halloween, too! One of our friends is having a Space themed party, so I'm going to dress as Earth and DH will be the moon and orbit me all night. Lol.
Thursday is our anatomy scan so like @Tulips29 I'm on pins and needles!

  • I'll be 23 weeks tomorrow!! And get to hear the heart beat again in two weeks. So excited. I still have to schedule my whooping cough vaccine which I will make an appt this week.
Like @griffin5413 said I enjoyed all of those things too. Announcing and doing the registry and planning a baby shower.  so fun. This fall I'm looking forward to my baby shower and thanksgiving. I love family holidays!!!
  • Is this real life? This is my last week in the 2nd tri. It feels like my transfer just happened & March just ended! I'm feeling back to normal since my cramping episode on Saturday. I did my GD test this morning and I'm anxious to get the results back already. Pretty boring couple of weeks for myself. No doc's til the end of September! Heartburn has kicked in full force recently!! A friend finished her sketch of Finding Nemo for the mural she will paint on the nursery wall (see attached).

QOTW: my favorite summer memories were enjoying summer theatre productions & my shore vacation with family. I'm looking forward to fall because of football Sunday's & finishing off this nursery!

  • Hi ladies! Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend (at least those in the USA). @Tulips29 and @dragonfaerie have fun at the AS! It was the best getting to see all of babies bits.
Everything has calmed down here, just some old blood spotting still. We have another doc apt on Friday. I'm hoping my doc will let us schedule another US just to poke around and make sure everything is still looking cool.
Baby boy is moving around like crazy, I can't wait for DH to be able to feel him as well.

qotw: most favorite memory: leaving the hospital with everyone safe and where they are supposed to be. Getting the news that our transfer worked, getting to tell our support system that it worked. And every roll, punch, kick, squirm etc that I get to feel from baby boy!

  • I have my glucose test on Thursday...really not looking forward to that or the results, but at least I will get it over with. Luckily I had a pretty relaxing Labor Day weekend and going back to work today was way too tough. I've realized that I'm really starting to slow down now and everyday tasks are becoming more difficult.

QOTW: Pregnancy related it's tied between the anatomy scan and feeling those kicks! Non pregnancy related I love going to the beach on the weekends and relaxing. Definitely looking forward to the cooler temps and getting away with wearing leggings and large sweaters!

    I love reading everyone's memories!

@capps42613 that's beautiful! The nursery will be so cute!

@vssbrm glad to hear you're doing well and hope the spotting goes away for good soon!

So my anatomy scan went mostly well. Mostly well because the tech couldn't get some of the shots she needed because this stubborn child wouldn't turn the right way! Lol he's already giving me trouble. She made me walk around the room to see if he would turn. He did for a bit and then flipped back. So I have to come back on Thursday so they can finish looking at everything and the doctor can see everything himself in case this baby is being stubborn again. At least we confirmed 100% that it's a boy, so my thoughts of the PGS report being wrong are gone.

  • @dragonfaerie yes, that's a plus. I really hope he cooperates tomorrow.
P.S. Eat before you go for your scan. I last ate around noon and my scan was at 5:30...the tech asked me when was the last time I ate because the baby's stomach looked a little small. She said it's not a concern, but simply because I haven't eaten in over 5 hours. I'll have a full meal before I go in tomorrow so hopefully his stomach will be good size.

Anyone else have have a pretty flat stomach when waking up and then by the end of the day the bump grows a lot? I keep thinking I am finally getting a noticeable bump but then it shrinks down again! Lol

  • @chicandbubbly I know, right! And I wish I had a flat tummy to begin with lol. But I've had days where I felt like my bump shrunk and then expanded. I'd ask my husband every day for a week straight (this was like 3-4 weeks ago) and he thought I was going crazy haha. Your bump will pop any day now

  • @dragonfaerie good luck today!

I just got back from the second part of my anatomy scan. Baby boy was more cooperative this time, but I still had to dance around the room and play him some music so he'd turn the right way for a few images. Tech said everything looked fine, so I'm happy. Now just have to see if my OB will order a 24 weeks scan to check on the placenta growth.

  • Pretty bummed. I just heard back from my doctors office & I failed my 1hr glucose test. My value was 154 and should be under 130. I was fasted for > 12hrs already so we'll see what happens. My hemoglobin is also a little low so I was prescribed iron pills too. Just not looking forward to a 3 hour wait in the lab, or worse, GD.

Hi everyone! It's my 1st time on the 2nd trimester board, I can't believe I'm here! It's super nice to see how everyone is moving along.  would you please add me to the list? I'm having a girl and my EDD is 3/1/17

@tulips29 I'm glad the anatomy scan went well, I had an US yesterday and the tech said she couldn't remember the last time she had such a hard time because my baby also kept moving like crazy, she would flip, turn her back on us, she just wouldn't stay still so now I know I'm in for a treat! Funny, we also knew the sex with PGS and still wondered what if they made a mistake

@capps42613 your friend is so talented, not to mention awesome for doing the mural, it's going to be beautiful!

QOTW: My fav memory was of course getting my BFP and then telling all my loved ones, I recorded everyone's reaction and still get teary eyed when I watch it ! I'm thinking maybe putting all the clips together and showing it at the baby shower . Non pregnancy related buying our first home, we are so excited (and a bit stressed because it's supposed to be ready in April and my dd is 3/1 , but oh well!)

So funny, I also tell my husband we already have a troublemaker on our hands the way he won't stay still in there. Glad your u/s went well!

@capps42613 ugh, sorry your GL test didn't go as planned. Fingers crossed you pass the 3 hour one! I'm scared of this test as well.

  • @yelllow22 welcome to 2nd trimester! How are you feeling? I'm excited for your new house! I know it's a stressful process but how fun!
@capps42613 oh man, I'm sorry to hear that your test results weren't good. :( I hope the pills help and your next test goes better!
@chicandbubbly I definitely hear you there! Just this morning I was thinking "hey, where'd you go?" Lol. But that's normal because of your body having digested everything overnight. I'm definitely showing enough that ppl at work (even the guys) are noticing. Just one meal is enough to get the bigger bump back.

Anatomy scan isn't for another 5 hours. I stayed home from work to clean the house and just relax, so I'm happy to have a rest and time to just do what I want.  But I kinda wish I was at work cuz then the time would go faster!

  • @capps42613 Sorry! I haven't done a lot of research on that yet but I have definitely heard that a lot of people fail it the first time, hope you do well the second time!

@dragonfaerie Thanks!!! We are excited, I'm finally relaxing and not worrying so much. Still getting nauseous, they increased my Diclegis dose so hopefully that will make a difference, last time I threw up was Sunday, I hope that's the end of it but I've thought that before. On another note, I tried prenatal Yoga at home yesterday, I am probably the only person in my generation that has never done yoga lol and I'm clumsy too, so let's see how that works, I just want to start getting some physical activity because between having no energy and the bleeding I had early on I just have been a total couch potato.
Hope the anatomy scan goes great! How are you feeling??

  • @capps42613 - What a bummer about your test. I was reading that a lot of the time, the 1 hour gives false positives so I'll be praying for good results on your 3 hour!

@yelllow22 - welcome to the 2nd trimester! We are building a house right now and it was supposed to close by the end of October and now prob. won't be done until the middle of Nov. I totally feel you on the stress of that! As long as we are in before baby in Dec I'll be good but I'm not sure my stress level will be.

  • @yelllow22 I'm sorry to hear you have been so sick, that is no fun at all :( But hopefully you are over the hump and can really start to enjoy yourself. Good for you for doing yoga! My friend recommended a place that does prenatal yoga for only $8/class, so I'm looking forward to getting into that. It's okay that you've been resting so much, 1st trimester is rough for most of us, and the important thing is to just get through it. Now you are through it!
I've been feeling really good. Starting to get the nesting instinct, I want to clean everything! Fortunately my mom is living with us right now and she is helping with the cleaning too.:)

  • @Tulips29 Anatomy scan went well, though he was very squirmy and it took her a while to get done. Then for the 3D pictures, I had to roll onto my side in order for him to stop facing my back. Lol. And I was 19w6d yesterday, but I was measuring 21w3d, so he's way ahead of the game!

@Griffin5413 We were thinking and hoping boy, so we are VERY excited. :)

  • @dragonfaerie oh man, you had 3D too! I'm slightly jealous lol. I think 3D is cool, but that was never brought up as an option for me yet, so I figured maybe that'll be later on. Are they thinking you may deliver early if you're measuring ahead? I was measuring ahead a few weeks back, but they told me it doesn't really mean much unless it's way off the original due date. This time around I was right on track, so I guess it changes.

  • @Tulips29 They didn't even ask if it was something I wanted, they just did it. It is a slight concern that I may deliver early, but they did mentioned that they can measure ahead in the beginning, and then slow down. So my next u/s (which is in two months) they will see how he's doing and start watching closer if he's still way ahead.
