  • @ReesaAnne16  Yah!  We are in the same boat!  I big follicle and here we go. I'm also trying to not get my hopes up, but its just so hard after seeing any kind of progress.

@fivetimesnoluck I am rooting for you with everything I've got.  :-)
  • @ClaireCF The NP at my RE's office was SO skeptical when I told her about them!  She was like "oh I've never heard of that before, are you sure it's the Clomid?" and I was like well, considering that before I started taking Clomid I'd only wake up from dreams once every few months and I'd never remember the actual dream, and now I'm waking up 3-4 times A NIGHT and remembering every detail, and it only happens during the 5 days I take the Clomid, and it happened 2 cycles in a row... Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's the Clomid.

@fivetimesnoluck  FX for this time around... It's good you found a super-specialist (there's a specialist for everything, isn't there?), hopefully they can help shed some light on what your best options would be from here.

@ReesaAnne16  Good luck tomorrow! All it takes is one!

@mrsdrwombat  The Let headaches are so weird, not like any other headache I've ever had. They remind me more of the headaches I get when like, I pull a muscle in my neck than a regular headache.

  • GTKY: where did you and SO meet?
DH and I met on Plent Of Fish. He messaged me on Christmas Day 12/25/14. After messaging back and forth through POF and txt, he asked me on a date. First date 01/05/15 and a lot of follow up dates over the following weeks. He moved into my apartment 03/2015 and asked me to marry him 07/06/2015...of course I said yes.    <3 we just got married 04/23/16 and can't wait to start our family. I'm so thankful for him, POF has a ton of nasty and unfaithful boys. Glad I finally filtered through and found the one.

@Bai-by2016  Thank you for the well wishes! It is so, so hard to try to keep my hopes realistic for this cycle.

@Jah87  Another IUI buddy! I hope yours went smoothly today as well!

@mrsdrwombat  How did your IUI go? Heres to a long TWW together!!

Our first IUI went very smoothly! Numbers were great, so hopefully one of them makes it!

  • @ReesaAnne16 yeah. I feel great today.

So so my doctor says alright lay there for a few minutes. Well last time they came back in and told us we were good and could go. Today they never came back and I laid there for over 40minutes and finally had DH check that we could leave. Lol next time I know.
  • @mrsdrwombat good luck and FX. I totally understand trying to be realistic but so excited.

We we had our first IUI last month and it didn't work out. 2ND IUI was today.

Sendingn lots of of baby dust and FX this works for us all.
  • @mrsdrwombat I know, it's so hard not to be overly excited about this cycle. I'm trying to remain optimistic, but realistic... if that's possible :)

  • @fivetimesnoluck Welcome back and really hoping this is your month for a healthy sticky bean!!

@mrsdrwombat  @ReesaAnne16 @Jah87  Congrats on your IUIs hoping ur tww goes go by quickly!  just keep talking to your beans and thanking your body for producing healthy mature follies!!

@Bai-by2016  sorry to see august didn't work out for you, heres hoping this is your month!  How much gonalf does ur dr prescribe?  just finished first round of stems and wondering if my re was really aggressive enough.

liahay this process is stressful and insurance is so hard, I hear ya!  hoping this is ur month!  and I had ice cream for dinner ;)

@becauselove since OH was with his sick child I was flying solo and watched lots of youtube to make sure I got it right.  FIrst time I did the gonalf pen it malfunctioned and I didn't realize it till the next day that I stuck myself without the meds going in :( unfortunately now I got it down pat.  Its really not fun and way stressful, I pretty much was at the dr 7 days in a row with a day off in the beginning and end.  Just not fun and the menupar just burns after day 2/3 for me so that shot I hated.  I did poke myself 5x one night soooo definitely not easy.  Taking the clomid and one shot at the end is certainly easier!!  I know I sound like a whiner.  I"m just frustrated that I went through all this BS and didn't get to go through it.  No pain no gain, but this was just pain.  Hoping to start another round when AF starts next week so we shall see. @lady_grey thanks i'm trying.  My black and blues are finally healing, disappointed I went through it and have no hope for the 2ww that's what truly hurts the most.  hoping I can start again and get more mature follies this round!

I'm with all you ladies nervous doing an IUI but relax and hopefully you don't have to move on to IVF.  And if you do its not the end of the world just a lil scarier, I've been terrified and will continue to be through the process.  IUI still feels more natural.

    good luck ladies!!!

  • @Hopeful_mom I'm sorry you had to go through all of that only to have it cancelled last minute. I took my ovidrel injection for the first time this week, and I was surprised how nervous I was; it took me several minutes to get up the nerve. I can't even imagine all the stress, and pain you've been going through for your IVF stims; I'm not sure I could handle it. You are very strong, and it sounds like you have a good attitude despite the circumstances. I hope the time of waiting goes by fast :)

  • @ReesaAnne16 I always struggle with being realistic. I always try to be positive but then I’m so devastated when I get a BFN.

@JAH87 That’s so annoying that they just left you to sit there!  I just set a timer for 10 minutes then leave after it goes off.

@mrsdrwombat Your DH sounds so cute!  I love that he’s excited.  I wish my hubby was like that but he’s not overly emotional about stuff in general (like I am).  It’s funny how non-eventful the IUI is.  It’s less invasive and time-consuming that a pap test. I love that he wanted to be there.  I think that’s important to share in the experience today.  It’s funny to think you can conceive a child without even being in the same room.  LOL!  Just because this is your first IUI doesn’t mean it won’t work.  We got pregnant on our first try.  (It ended in a loss – had nothing to do with the IUI - but it still worked!)  I understand being cautiously optimistic though.  It’s hard to balance so you don’t end up heartbroken because you convinced yourself you were pregnant.  I have high hopes for you!

@hopeful_mom Thank you so much!  I used to Femara for 5 days then a follie check then add Gonal-f and take that for 3 or 4 days then another follie check then trigger and IUI.  This time, he’s stacking the medication.  How much did your doctor have you do?

SIDE NOTE:  I got pregnant on my first IUI (it ended in a loss) with 3 follies.  I only had 1 good follie for the second IUI and a ton more sperm (my DH has great sperm) so I think the number of follies is key for me.  So that’s what we’re focusing on this round.

    CD3 Femara (5mg, 2 pills)
    CD4 Femara (5mg, 2 pills)
    CD5 Femara (5mg, 2 pills)
    CD6 Femara (5mg, 2 pills) Gonal-f (75 iu)
    CD7 Femara (5mg, 2 pills) Gonal-f (75 iu)
    CD8   Gonal-f (75 iu)

@kdanjou I loved acupuncture.  I fell asleep every time.  And I felt kind of tingly afterward.  I really think it’s awesome that you’re doing it.  I really think it’ll help you get that BFP!  I am thinking about going back to it.  It’s just hard because I had to go every week which cost me $320 per month and it was about an hour from my house so it’s hard to get off work to go each week with all of my other doctor’s appointments that I have for follie checks and stuff like that.  I don’t mean to sound whiney; I’d be happy to pay the money if I knew it was going to get me a BFP, but there are no guarantees.  We already spend so much money out of pocket (about $1,000 per month) that it’s hard for me to even approach my husband about it because he thinks it’s crap.  LOL!

  • Hi!

I'm new but jumping right in. Today was our first IUI. I have PCOS. I did Femara and Ovidrel. Feeling a little yucky physically (crampy, nauseated) but super excited to be moving along on this journey!

    Good luck to everyone!
  • @jayandaplus welcome. Sort to hear you're feeling yucky. My first iui was last month and that's how I felt too. I also have pcos. Hopefully this iui works for you.

I I just did my second iui yesterday and I feel great this round. No nausea, just slight cramping here and there.

Hope me everything went well. Sending baby dust your way.
  • @jayandaplus  Hello and welcome!  I had my first IUI yesterday.  I have a horrible headache today (unrelated I'm sure) but other than that no issues.
  • Welcome @jayandaplus !

Question for all you ladies who have had trigger injections; were you sore afterward? I took mine on wednesday, about 2 inches below and to the right of my belly button. BUT today, I am very sore in the tissue just above the left side of my belly button. I'm assuming it's some referred pain or inflammation from the injection, but it's in a completely different spot from where I injected it. I'll call the nurse if it get's worse, just curious if anyone else is sore from theirs

  • hi everyone!  I hope you are all enjoying your labor day weekend.  I just had a question about clomid: does it make you feel kind of slow cognitively and foggy?  I feel like it's hard to concentrate and I keep forgetting things.  I'm wondering what is wrong with me and it must be the clomid!!!  I'm just not at the top of my game.  I have been feeling a bit depressed lately too so that could be part of it.  Infertility sucks!

@jayandaplus welcome to the community and congrats on your first IUI!  I hope the TWW goes by quickly for you.

@mrsdrwombat congrats on your first IUI too!  What are your plans to keep busy the next 2 weeks?

  • @lady_grey I never got those side effects, but they don't call it the clomid craziness for nothing. I wouldn't be surprised if that was it. It effects everyone differently.

Happy Labor Day weekend everyone. Hope you're al having some fun! DH and I went to a cheese fest in Wisconsin yesterday...it was pretty awesome. AF started today so into IUI #2. Feeling very positive for this cycle based on DHs numbers last time!

Thanks everyone! I'm still sore, but it seems to be a little less each day. Today I started testing out my trigger, and it's still faintly positive. Has anyone done this or do you all just wait for the full 2 weeks?  I'll probably test again on wednesday to see if it's negative yet.

EDITED: The other question I remembered, is have any of you monitored CM on a cycle with a trigger shot? Trigger was wednesday, IUI thursday, but I was still having EWCM on friday, so I'm wondering if I ovulated on Friday? Either way, I'm assuming the timing of the IUI will be ok, just curious.

  • I just intro'ed and hope it's okay that I am jumping in!

@ReesaAnne16 Out of the four trigger shots I've taken, only the last two (the ones we did ourselves, imagine that lol) gave me a little tenderness/redness. It shouldn't take too long to clear up! As far as the CM, I rarely get any on my own so it's not usually something I check. I have noticed since starting medicated cycles that I've started having watery CM. Ultimately I'm not sure if this is good news or bad news for me. I don't see how it could hurt things to keep checking it though. Especially if your IUI timing was good!

@Isthistherealife So sorry to hear AF showed. The cheese fest sounds like it would have been amazing!

@Msjen11 So Sorry for AF. I hope you found something to raise your spirits a bit.

Well I had my fourth IUI on 9/1. Now I'm just waiting. We were supposed to start injectables this cycle, and I have all of the medications at home to do so, but since we were going to be out of town during some of the days I would have required monitoring, the RE suggested we either skip an entire cycle, or we could do one last round of Letrozole and IUI. Since I haven't had success with the last three cycles, I don't expect much out of this cycle either. Now it's just a waiting game. At 5dpiui I'm not currently feeling anything (obviously), but it's always enough to make my brain go.
  • Gone all weekend!  Catching up...

@ReesaAnne16  Yes!  I was very sore the next two days.  My belly was tender to the touch.  No marks at all, just sensitive.

@msnjen11 I hope you feel better, but I get that it is so hard to stay positive.  Best of luck to you this cycle.

@lady_grey Well, it wasn't the plan but staying busy taking care of my DH.  He hurt his back this weekend (totally random, he doesn't usually have back issue) and to be honest he is being a bit of a baby about it.  He says the pain is a 1-3 but you would think he is hurting a lot worse.  I guess everyone reacts differently....

@Isthisthereallife   Best of luck this cycle!  Let's make it an awesome September.

@msrdee15 welcome and best of luck to you!

@mrsdaddario Welcome and I hope that you have great luck this cycle.  I also had my IUI on Sep 01.

Question:  Has anyone else gotten the chills during the TWW?  I had really bad chills this weekend, with no fever.  I was covered in goosebumps and shivering cold several times each day.  It was the strangest thing....

  • Hi everyone,
I recognize some of you from the August IUI board.  We cancelled last month because we weren't comfortable triggering with 4 mature follies.  We still BDed though but AF came anyways.

This month when I went in for my u/s, the nurse said that my ovaries were still enlarged and that I still had remnants (whatever that means) from the last cycle.  She said we would probably have to sit out this cycle.  But then my estadriol levels came in low so they told me to go ahead anyways.  I finished letrozole on Sunday and will have an u/s sometime this week.  Hoping for 2-3 mature follicles this time.

Has anyone else had to sit out a cycle before because of enlarged ovaries or been told to go ahead despite them?  They didn't explain any of it to me.

  • @madasm0530  Thanks for starting the board.  So sorry to hear that you had to cancel b/c of cysts.  Hoping they go away quickly!  Let us know how your appointment in mid-sept goes.

Excited for all the IUIs that have happened already @skysong113, @ReesaAnne16, @mrsdrwombat, @Jah87, @jayandaplus, @mrsdaddario

@BecauseLove  How did your u/s go today?

@mrsjen11 I totally understand being down about AF.  The first few days of AF are always really hard for me.  There's nothing that really makes it better other than time....and maybe ice cream.

I haven't had the chills, but I did notice back on September 2nd you noted that you had a bad headache after IUI. I've woken up every day since IUI with a headache. Which has never happened before. I'm wondering if it's just the hormones from the trigger running out of my system, could be also why you're feeling colder than normal!

Well I am pretty much out of the Sept running. :) Follies didn't mature even after 2 cycles of 5mg of Letrozole and then a upped dose of 7.5mg of Letrozole. I am off to take 10 days of progesterone to start my period. I will be starting up this next cycle doing 100 of Clomid and if that doesn't work they are saying they might start me on injectables or that we might want to start to consider IVF (which is 5 hours away from where I live 1 way). So I am hoping for a last days of Sept or the 1st days of October IUI. :)

Best of luck to all of you! You are in my thoughts and prayers!
