I live in *poof* DH and I went to college here, Go State! . Grew up in a tiny town in *poof* that has just 5 stop lights. *poof*). I love having 4 seasons, winter and summer can get brutal but fall and spring make up for it. I love living here, we're 2 hours from my parents and 2 hours to *poof*There are so many hiking trails, beautiful fields (when they burn every spring it sucks for my allergies but it's beautiful), were only 15 minutes from a lake, and we live about 10 minutes from town so we don't have to deal with the college students all the time! ETA:*poof* locations. Just don't want to leave them up forever!
@BertieMeetsGertie@leekat14 ah awesome! I was in Gainesville yesterday at Uncle Julios! And my office is primarily in Fairfax Corner I live in Warrenton!
@wabash15 That's awesome!! Glen Sanders? MH and I spent our wedding night there! It is beautiful, especially since they redid everything. My grandparents owned a camp, they eventually turned into a full time home on Sacandaga Lake in the ADK. Love it there!
DH: 31, Me: 27 Married May 2014 TTC #1: May 2015 September 2016-December 2016: Met with RE, fertility testing, diagnosis of tubal scarring, and plan of IVF *TW in spoiler boxes*
Surprise! Unexpected BFP 2/22/17 just when we were about to start fertility treatment!
@LLo3 I lived in Huntsville when I was stationed at Redstone Arsenal. I always felt like people looked at me with two heads when I asked for unsweetened tea.
This was a fun GTKY! I'm in a one stop light town as well in NW PA. We get all the seasons and are in the snowbelt from Lake Erie. I LOVE the snow, but couldn't live somewhere that we didn't have fall & spring. I'd be just fine skipping summer though.
I am in a small town in western NJ, pretty much right on the PA border. Fun fact though, they actually filmed the original Friday the 13th here, so every Friday the 13th someone walks around town dressed like Jason.
I am from northern NJ. I love that everything is close and we have everything - good food, easy shopping, mountains, lakes, the ocean, easy access to NYC and Philly, etc. On the downside, it's very expensive and it's like 2-3 degrees of Kevin Bacon here. For example, I easily know where @Pinky917 is from now that I have that clue! I hate that it can take a while to get anywhere because of traffic. It's also weird climate-wise here because we are to the east of the Appalachian Mountains, so we have an intense winter and summer, but short and mild spring and fall.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
@mrsdaddario my stepparents live in Scotia right near Glen Sanders ;-). I grew up in Lake George and miss the Adirondacks terribly, but after grad school in SoCal and Atlanta for 8 years, we are now in Portland, OR--which coincidentally looks a lot like the Adirondacks, just with a few extra volcanoes
I live in Boston but I grew up in Maine!! I lived in Bangor until after college and moved to Boston for grad school. My DH and I just bought a house on the Boston Somerville line, so no plans to move any time soon, but both of our parents want to end up in Florida, so that may be the next move in a few years.
@SeriouslySirius My sister is a senior at K-State! We will be heading out there in a month to finally visit her and see a game. We wanted to get there before I get KU in case I'll be too far along to travel for graduation! Can't wait to see the campus and town!

@wabash15 Yes such a small world! Especially because I had my bridal shower at the Stockade Inn!! That place is so beautiful, and the food was awesome!
We also live in the outskirts of Vegas. We LOVE it here! Cleaner air, slower pace of life, little-to-no traffic, MUCH better cost of living... I could go on for days on this, so I'll just stop
We fled LA two years ago and our only regret is not making the move earlier. Prior to this move we lived in Nor Cal for a handful of years and both grew up in So Cal.
@littlebug2010 That is awesome! We have season tickets in the North Endzone, and there's only 2 home games we'll miss this year for a baptism and wedding. The games here are awesome, the whole town just has this great feeling that's kind of hard to explain. I hope you enjoy it here, we get called Manhappiness for a reason!
Another MA girl here! Started about 15mins outside Boston, then 30mins, now we are over an hour from the city. I think we have 3 stoplights in my new town and I love it! Everyone waves and has mini farms :-) I have also experienced the frozen nostrils and hair icicles! Every winter I look for houses on the outer banks! (Our favorite vacation spot and Our retirement plan if all goes well!)

@kyersten, another Maryland girl here. Grew up in Carroll County, living in Howard County now and working in Baltimore. My favorite thing about it is the Chesapeake Bay and how diverse the scenery is here. Also I feel like we get good weather for all seasons, cold enough for snow but not insanely cold in the winter, hot enough in the summer for swimming, not too many natural disasters *knock on wood*

I was born and raised in Cleveland, OH. I still live in one of the suburbs, about 8-10 mins from my parents. I love our city because there's always so much to do! Besides there being a bar on every corner, there are some amazing restaurants and most of the places are within a comfortable walking distance.

@mrsdaddario - MH is from the Catskills area. We are up there a lot since his entire family (and there's a ton of them) still live up there. Its beautiful up there.
@MommytoM13@BertieMeetsGertie@leekat14 - I lived for 11 years in NOVA/DC area! I LOVED it there. Moved to be closer to family and lower cost of living. If we win the lotto, I'm buying a house in Alexandria close to Old Towne.
I'm in Southern NJ right near Philly. (So like the tip of Southern NJ, before most Southern NJ people consider it bottom of Central NJ.) 20 mins from Philly, 1.5 hours from NYC, 1.5 from the shore, 1.5 from some good mountains. Don't plan on living here forever but its working out nicely so far.

@tripledaggerWed95976 great idea for a thread! I've always wondered where everyone lives :-)
Looks like I'm the only one representing North Dakota.
I grew up in Colorado, south of Denver. Until about 18 months ago, my DH and I were living in Fort Collins, which is Northern CO. We moved to ND for a job for DH, and to be closer to his family.
DH is originally from ND, so now we live about 1.5 hrs from his family in central ND. We're about 70 miles from Bismarck in a small town called Garrison. We're a town of 1500-2000, no stoplights here either! I like the cute, small town vibe here, and I certainly don't miss crowds and traffic, but it's SOOOOO different here. The great thing is that our town is self sufficient with its own grocery store, hardware store, etc., but sometimes I drive to the cities to maintain my sanity.
I went from a liberal college town with great food and culture, to a super conservative, gun-totin', camo-wearing, die-hard-fishing town. And the food here is god awful. One of the most frustrating things for me is the lack of knowledge about general nutrition here.
I worry about not having my parents and sister around for support, and my in laws are 60-90 minutes away. But, plenty of people make situations like this work!
@leekat14 & @mrsdaddario I'm a day late to the game here but I'm from upstate NY as well! Originally from Latham, but now in Westerlo (30 min SW of Albany). Where are you guys?
@amberruka Wow I'm really surprised so many people know of Scotia! Usually when I tell people where I grew up I have to say....it's like ten minutes from Schenectady! LOL.
@Jenshoes I work in Latham! Super small world! I'm originally from Scotia, but we currently live in the Catskills. About 20 minutes past Hunter Mountain.
@mrsdaddario Such a small world! We are like neighbors! I work in Hudson! Where do you work in Latham (if that isn't too forward) or send me a message!
@bornmommy I know where Hannacroix is! It is like 15 minutes from my house! And we are in Westerlo, but technically the Greenville school district! Too funny! Have you ever visited the area, so pretty in fall, especially in the hills.

We are up there all the time. We only live three hours south in NJ and MH entire huge family lives up there. My FIL is a State Trooper and so was his dad... and so was his dad. They have been up there forever. Did you go to Greenville schools? (PM me if too forward!) We probably know a lot of the same people if you did. haha
