Re: Monday Bitchfest

  • I was so happy my friend was in town for 3 full days, stayed with us and helped with DS.

But now our routine is all jacked up and DS just wants to be held all day today. Don't get me wrong- I love the snuggles. But I have a crap ton of laundry and cleaning to do. That and we had a great schedule/routine going. Now I will have to work to get him back on a schedule/routine.

  • Dinner is in the crockpot and now the power is out and won't be back on until 6ish. Oh, and it's sunny outside so the weather didn't cause the power outage. Pissed.

@lotsofsunshine seriously people need to chill out & let you rest!

My bitchfest that I particularly feel every Monday is time. I look at my sweet baby's sleeping face and think, "time is a fking bitch. I don't want to go back to work..."
I don't want to go back either and I'm just 11 days in. Leaving DD was hard, leaving two of them is going to be awful.  Time is too fast

  • I'm tired of having to go places/ entertain people every flippen day! I just had a baby 4 days ago people. I think i will just stay in my jammies and not leave my bed for the rest of the week.
Why do you have to entertain people?!?!?!  You had a baby 4 days ago. The only place you should have to go is the doctors office for a weight check or something. Tell them to F off if people expect more than that from you!
  • My epidural hasnt been working right since 6pm. They may have to do it over.
  • My husband keeps waking the baby. Several nights in a row, no matter how many times I remind him to keep his voice down.
  • @Curls919 my very intrusive family kept showing up all weekend. And didn't want to do anything to help. DH finally out his foot down.
  • I know it's Tuesday but I'm over the frequent feeling of let downs throughout the day! It hurts and it isn't always when LO is crying or anything.

STMs, does this level out or go away eventually?  Mine release lots of milk every hour like clockwork, and baby doesn't feed every hour.  I can't imagine having to go back to work like this.

@entropicallyfavored yes it gets better as your supply levels out and feedings are more predictable and scheduled... At least it did with my first.
    Pregnancy Ticker

  • @entropicallyfavored it does. I even stopped using the pads by like 6ish months? It gets better! You just have to ride it out!
  • My bitch is that everything post having this baby has been hard. A c-section where I lost a lot of blood, a NICU stay for baby, damn sciatic nerve pain, a D&C, and now mastitis. Baby is fat and happy, but mom is struggling over here.
  • My bitch is that I called my OB 3 days PP with UTI symptoms (cloudy/discolord urine, peeing still like I was pregnant). They said not to worry about it. Fast forward to 6 days PP, didn't get any better and now with increased back aches. Went to OB, but the in office test was negative. fast forward to today (10 days PP) and the lab results finally came back and it's positive

I told my OB I'm prone to UTI's and I'm so frustrated that I knew something was off and I didn't push harder for meds last week. I thought I was just being a recovery wimp, and now I'm really looking forward to feeling better after the antibiotics in a few days!

Yuck! Hopefully the antibiotics do the trick and you feel better asap!

Our bed collapsed last night... I was feeling a little better finally, but that wrenched my stitches.
I've told Dh over and over not to flop in the bed. He broke a coil in our matress in less than a year flopping, and now  the frame itself.
He swore he'll fix it, but Mr fix it he is not. Went out first thing this morning and bought a new bed. Four hundred dollars we can't afford later, it'll be here Friday.
I ended up on The couch last night since Dh was snoring super loud.
The woman at the store threw in a metal frame to get us through... Do you think Dh switched it out before he left for work? Nope. I'm sleeping in the guest room, my mom is in the baby's room, so he can either switch it at 1am when he gets home, or sleep on the couch. (His snoring wakes the baby... And did he go see an allergist and sleep specialist befo re the baby got here? Nope.) so cranky today.

  • I may have taken pleasure in poking him awake at 9 am so we could go bed shopping. He works nights, so that is more like 5 am

  • @Allisun85 Sounds like a nightmare.  Bright side: new bed?

Yep. Was crying when husband came home. Why, he asked? Because I have a fever and the normally good napping baby didn't close his eyes more than 20 min all afternoon...
  • @kwilliams3402 Some days just suck. Hang in there mama, and hopefully tomorrow will be better.
  • I know it's not Monday but feel like I need to vent. Our neighbor wants to do a Labor Day grill and chill tonight. Very normal for our street. But she wants to do it at her house, and is upset that I won't come after DS goes to sleep. "The monitor will work. We are just next door". Yes, I know this. But he is just 6 weeks old.  DH went over there to ask if we could just do it at our house. We will all be outside anyways. Not like it's a big deal! I just don't feel comfortable leaving my 6 week old alone in the house.

    Am I wrong?

  • @TCUFrog08 I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving my 6 weeker alone in the house despite the monitor working. You're the mom. I personally wouldn't do anything I am uncomfortable with when it comes to me and my baby! You're not in the wrong for feeling this way. You know what the best situation is for your fam and if it doesn't fit your neighbor's "best," then so be it. No need to fall under that kind of pressure.
  • @AliKay20  Thankfully DH and her husband made her realize she was wrong to be mad. Everyone is coming to our house now :). I never really stand up for myself and generally go with the flow of things. But since having DS, I am 100% more comfortable standing my ground and saying how I feel. Especially if it pertains to DS.

Good for you! I don't even feel comfortable leaving the room for a minute to go to the bathroom or shower with baby there...let alone one house over. Hell to the no!

Not wrong at all!  But once he's older then go for it. Our monitor works in our neighbor's backyard so we've gone over there after DS1 is asleep
