Infertility

Crinone veterans please help.

TMI.  I am in my 2ww and using crinone for progesterone.  I asked the nurse how far to put it in and she said "you will know".  Ok.  So I tried it and I don't know!  Looked up the directions online.  One photo shows the tube all the way in and the other shows it only about an inch or 2.  WTF?  I dont want to jam this thing all the way up me if I dont need to.

So tell me.  Did any of you actually get legit directions of how far to put this thing?

Thanks!!

Re: Crinone veterans please help.

  • When using it, stop just shy of the plunger being inside of you. You still need room to push the plunger. It shouldn't feel uncomfortable. It's the same method you'd use for putting in a tampon. Hopefully this helps...

  • Thanks!  That would be way deeper than I am going.  To continue my tmi, I dont use tampons.  Used them about three times in my life because I had to.  Frankly the pio shots were easier or me!  At least I know what I am doing!

  • It really just needs to be inside since the medication is absorbed. If you don't go too far I would just assume you will have a better chance of some leaking out so I always just took 10-15 min on the couch. But like @halips said just like a tampon

  • Thanks! I don't think much is leaking out.  Wearing liners so I can tell. Thanks for your answers!

  • If you really don't like it you could request to do PIO . I actually preferred PIO over crinone . Crinone irritated me and I eventually bled from it (I think that was the cause of some of my bleeding ). I know it's not fun ! PIO isn't fun either but I felt better knowing that I was getting the full dose of what I needed ... With crinone some can leak out .

  • Agree! Today I think I am doing better with it.  I think I found the medium between too shallow and too deep.  Trying to keep with it till my beta, then I guess I have no idea after how things go!
