Just lurking this thread, ya'll have such adorable pets!! --no fur family here ATM--we want a puppy SOOO bad, but we said we'd wait till we were out of the baby stage with DD, then surprise baby now means we're holding off again. No joke; my first thought when i POS and got a BFP was "awwww, no puppy!?!"
Not the best picture but here are the two in our house. They are litter mates, Vin (girl) is on the pillow and Abel (boy) is laying on her. They are American Bulldog Pitbull mix and we think they might have a little Dalmation in them because under all that white fur is a bunch of spots! They are big and rambunctious and we love them. They are about 2.5 years old and my DH rescued them before we were married. He had Vin first, realized that she had way too much energy and needed a playmate, and went back for Abel. He was the last of the litter to be adopted. Vin is a bit nuts but can run like the wind and is so agile. Abel is much more sensitive, has a safe spot on the spare bed for when he needs to feel secure, and adores attention. Not sure how they are going to react to a baby in the house but DH says that if they are true to the breed, they will be great.
Oh, and these two love to find bunny nests in the yard and "play" with the baby bunnies.
