We need a name for a girl. The middle name will be Jeanette, which is my mother's name, who is passed. We are pretty set on it. Siblings are Liam and Annabel. Would prefer something Irish or Scottish, but it doesn't have to be. Here is a list of names we've been talking about, but can't agree it. They are all over the place in terms of time and style, but we just can't settle on something we can agree on.
Ryan (I don't think I love it for a girl, but will probably use if baby is a boy)
Sophie (I love, husband isn't crazy about it)
Clara
Claire
Kate (Katherine or Katelyn)
Isla
Naomi
Cora
Brenna (I love, husband dislikes)
Evelyn
Haley (I'm turned off by all of the Haylee/Hayleighs, etc. but love the connection to the Irish surname.)
Laurel Natalie
I would love to hear some opinions or other suggestions. I'm kind of stuck on Haley. This is what my mom wanted to name me, but couldn't because it rhymed with my maiden name. She always said if I had a little girl someday I could name her Haley... and I may, just stuck on the popular/trendy -ley names.
I do know a girl named Ryan, and I've never thought it was 'weird.' Riley may be a more accepted unisex name.
This! My first daughter is Natalie. My 2nd is Ryan. I love it for her (it was also my maiden name so it meant a lot to me to keep it). I've received a lot of positive comments around it, and really nothing negative. I agree with @emilyalso though that Riley is maybe a more accepted unisex name.
Sophie - Good name, but if Dh doesn't life it, maybe a MN?
Clara - I'm not usually a big fan of old name,s but I like this one!
Claire - meh. Nothing wrong with it at all, just never one of my faves.
Kate - would be a great MN. Haley Kate?
Isla - Love this name. My fave of your list, but can't work Haley into it anywhere. Sorry! (Isla Kate is pretty though!)
Naomi - perfectly fine name.
Cora - Another good one
Brenna - I like this, but if DH doesn't, that's a moot point.
Evelyn - I like this one, and it;s great for NN's. (Eve, Eva, Evie, Lyn)
Haley -
Laurel - Love this name too. Haley Laurel has a a decent flow. Natalie - another perfectly fine name.
Good luck!
