Meditation?

Does anyone here meditate (pregnancy specific or just in general)?
I've done some guided meditation on and off throughout adulthood and have been trying to get back in the habit lately.  Finding time is HARD with work and two kids running around though...

if you meditate, how do you find time? And what do you use?

Re: Meditation?

  • I don't have a regular meditation practice, but I wish I did. For a while I was trying to do it for relaxation/stress relief, and was using the Calm app. You can choose the length and type of the meditation and I normally just listened to 1 when I got into bed for the night.

I don't really have an excuse as far as not having time - it's just not something I'm good at making time for.

  • @KRB22 I'll have to check that app out  I'm doing the trial for Expectful right now (which is pregnancy/early motherhood specific) and I like it so far but I'm having trouble not getting really sleepy while doing it.

  • I've done mindfulness meditation for several years. The first book I read was Jon Kabat-Zinn's "Full Catastrophe Living".  There is an app that goes along with the book for about $10 that has different guided meditations. Also, some of these are available on You Tube if you search for Jon Kabat-Zinn.  This might be one way to start a practice with whatever time you have: there are even 10 minute meditations in his volume 2 app. I hope this helps!
  • I do short meditation with my yoga practice for the most part, but I've done meditation challenges (through Yoga Journal) that are 15-20 minutes on my lunch at work through the week! Also 10-30 minutes before bed is great. I've used the app Simply Being, it's pretty ok for a guided app
