Hello ladies...
It appears we haven't had one of these since the 1st tri! Please feel free to share any of the struggles and/or accomplishments you have going on this week.
Tell us a little bit about your SAHM status ( How long have you been a SAHM / How many kiddos do you have? / Do you work at all outside/inside the home? )
how are things going with your kiddo(s) and this pregnancy so far?
Re: SAHM Check-In (9/1)
I feel like I have been failing at all things these last few weeks because my sciatica has been flaring like mad. She has been getting way too much screen time lately
Potty training is going well, except that now she is refusing to use a step stool of any kind and needs me to lift her up/off the toilet. My back can not handle this... oh and nap time, she has declared she is done with naps! I just don't have the energy or strength to fight her and I can only imagine as my belly grows it will be almost impossible.
We have been working really hard on trying to explain to her that there is a baby in mommy's belly because she loves to just jump into our laps/on us and that she needs to be careful with mommy. It's going about as well as can be expected.
Overall, I am just having a hard time with this pregnancy and dealing with a "threenager" isn't helping. My husband has been really amazing with picking up all the slack and taking over bed time, since I usually can't get up the stairs at the end of the day. I really don't know what I would do without him. I just feel bad that he works all day and has to come home and clean up after us. (okay maybe not that bad sometimes)
My kid has gone from agreeable 1.5 year old to nut job 2 year old in the span of a few weeks. I have been having a truly hard time lately especially because we've been a bit stuck in the house. We moved to this very very small town last year and it's been a struggle...we have to drive an hour away if we want to do an activity. We're both going a bit stir crazy.
@Munchie2.0 I've been letting her watch way too much Sesame Street this week. Mainly to keep my sanity.
Sorry you are stuck in the house because of a small town
It has been a struggle keeping up with everything, but I am very lucky to have a great mom, mother in law and husband that help when I'm not doing well. I've been really sick this time around.
@Munchie2.0 have you tried getting a little potty for your daughter? That way she's using the potty but it's not so scary to climb up on the big potty by herself. (And could save you on the back pain) That's what we did with our son and he still prefers it over the big potty.
I may need to bring it out again, if I can't get her to use the little step stool.
I am also really looking forward to the fall. We signed up to go to a Parent-Child class at our nearby Waldorf school twice a week and im also signing her up for a tumble class. With it being so hot out this summer it's been hard to go out sometimes so bring on the sweaters!
I'm going a little crazy. My thyroid levels aren't where I like them but I think my endo is afraid to up my medicine because I've also got graves disease so if I go too far the other way then that will be an issue. So I'm tired and a tiny bit anxious, but not anywhere near as bad as it was with DS2. But the tiredNess makes me feel worn out and burnt out. And DS2 is being extra ornery and extra cranky. So I'm just trying to get through the day until DH comes homes.
My husband is also looking for a job but for the meantime he works at a restaurant to earn since money at least.
I don't know how you ladies handle being pregnant while having other kids. I'm so exhausted all the time!
hmmm. i haven't tried that, but she is also super tiny. i will see what she thinks about trying to climb up. hell, she can even try to use the bathtub if it helps!
It does seem kind of pointless to look for a job, just to turn around and take maternity leave. It's an adjustment to SAH for sure though.
When my twins were a year-and-a-half old I started my first year not teaching after my teaching career kind of slipped out from under me when the district I had been in for 5 years couldn't find a spot for me the next year. That first year I stayed home and tried to sub, but was paying my babysitter more than I made subbing. I have been doing real estate for four years now and I absolutely love it.
The twins are in second grade now and my younger daughter is 5 but will be doing half-day preschool again this year. She often does work stuff with me and is seriously my little sidekick.
Is going to be very strange next year when my three older kids are in school all day and I will just have one baby at home. I can barely imagine what that's like, LOL. After starting with twins and then for a little while having three in diapers I can't even imagine what it will be like to just have one small baby home with me during the day!
I'm sorry I can't help much with potty training we are way out of that stage but I can tell you that I have 3 kids and none of them were the same as far as what worked and didn't!
